All these old brands are still up there with the best and even though I live far away in Australia I still buy them. We have our own brands but I think those old originals are just the best . Oh, and Birds custard powder, too. What brands from way back when do you still like and buy?
The only thing that I don’t really like is the British salad cream, horrible taste and I think we follow more the French recipes with mayonnaise.

Well, I prefer salad cream to mayonnaise, mayo has no taste.

People ‘look down’ on SC, I don’t know why.

One thing I absolutely loathed was Heinz tins of Russian Salad. My mother used to serve it at tea on Sunday. It looked as if someone had been sick on the plate!

HP Sauce, Tate & Lyle golden syrup.
Heinz tomato soup would have figured once but now it’s Baxter’s for me, definitely superior as are Branston’s baked beans to Heinz’s

I like the Branston baked beans rather than Heinz.
Luckily they're a bit cheaper, too.

We always had Roses Lime Juice Cordial which I loved. However, I've now discovered Belvoir Lime cordial and it is SO good, much better than Roses . I bulk buy from Amazon as it's not easy to find. I don't use any of OP's list I'm afraid. I buy chutney not pickle, we don't like mustard and I make my own gravy.
