Branston’s pickle, Colman’s mustard and Bisto gravy ..

We always had Roses Lime Juice Cordial which I loved. However, I've now discovered Belvoir Lime cordial and it is SO good, much better than Roses . I bulk buy from Amazon as it's not easy to find. I don't use any of OP's list I'm afraid. I buy chutney not pickle, we don't like mustard and I make my own gravy.

I like the Branston baked beans rather than Heinz.
Luckily they're a bit cheaper, too.

Heinz tomato soup would have figured once but now it’s Baxter’s for me, definitely superior as are Branston’s baked beans to Heinz’s

One thing I absolutely loathed was Heinz tins of Russian Salad. My mother used to serve it at tea on Sunday. It looked as if someone had been sick on the plate!

Well, I prefer salad cream to mayonnaise, mayo has no taste.

People ‘look down’ on SC, I don’t know why.

I replaced my much missed Panyan with Sharwood's mango pickle .
The recipe for Panyan is curried-that's probably why I loved it so much !
Branston will never replace it .

Oh yes! Rose’s Lime Juice cordial. Always a bottle in my kitchen and no other brand is comparable. The first commercially produced (since 1868] concentrated fruit cordial. Pricey but worth it.

I have just bought some jars of Bovril as I understand the company has been taken over by an American company and I am thinking it might go the way as Cadbury. ie down hill. British is Best.

In all honesty, I don't think I've ever eaten a Heinz product that I've enjoyed and I avoid the brand. Most of their foods seem overly and inappropriately sweet and taste vaguely of something chemical. Their tomato soup is a particular dislike but I'm a bit nuts and have a massive tomato soup session every August when tomatoes are plentiful. About 15 to 20 litres gets frozen to eat during the coming year and nobody's ever said they'd prefer a tin, please.

Branston baked beans are sooo much better than Heinz. Give them a try! And nothing bets their pickle IMO. Also no substitute for HP sauce although one bottle lasts for ages.

Coleman's mustard is in our cupboard, mayonnaise in our refrigerator. Nobody eats salad cream, here. I make tomato soup using tinned tomatoes.

I have also made tomato soup but for some reason it never quite tastes like Heinz.

Slimming World allege that their tomato soup tastes exactly like Heinz.
INGREDIENTS
2 tins of chopped tomatoes
1 tin of baked beans
4 small pickled onions (or one large one), chopped in half
1/2 pint vegetable stock
a pinch of salt & pepper
1 tsp Worcester sauce
1/2 tsp sweetener
INSTRUCTIONS
Put all ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to boil.
As soon as the soup boils, reduce the heat to the lowest and allow to simmer.
Cover and leave for 15 mins to simmer gently.
Once cooled slightly, add to a blender and blitz until the mixture is completely smooth.
Can be kept in the fridge in a sealed container for up to one week.

It really does! Unless I am making the above, it has to be Heinz although Dh prefers Tesco's home brand.

I was very disappointed when I bought Vegemite. After hearing so much about it. Heard some ladies chatting excitedly about some Australian biscuits on sale in Sainsbury’s . Similar size to Penguin biscuits.
