Do people seriously believe that this situation has been brought about by reports to HQ from one particular poster?

I have no idea how this could have happened in that way. People seem to be quite confident now that this is the case, and also who is responsible, but how have they come to this conclusion? I’m now completely baffled.

Because there are a handful of posters on here who live in each other’s pockets. They all contact each other and hit the report button. They did not agree with Allira and a few others amongst us who do not share their very strong opinions on a current situation that shows no indication of improving any time soon.

I am uneasy about posting Allira’s ban on other threads, having already been on the norty step myself.

Not sure how tolerant GNHQ will be 🤷‍♀️

We're slipping down the threads. Keep up the Allira requests!

I haven't reported two instances directed at me recently, I just don't know, I still haven't decided. I find it hard to argue for freedom of speech ( which i do a lot) if I am reporting all over the shop. As I have said I have reported antisemitism.

Just a thought but they seem to be leaving us to fulminate on this thread and hope we'd go away. How about posting bring back Allira on every thread? It's too big a job for just one of us but many hands make light work. Every single thread would then be reported. HQ might get the message? What do people think?

I've just posted bring back Allira on another chat. I have no idea either who reported Allira. I've never reported or thought to report anyone but from now on where I think it's genuinely appropriate then I will do so. If enough do this then hopefully that reporter will be weedled out and get banned.

Nannee49 Sat 06-Jun-26 16:10:53

As a casual poster tho' an inveterate reader of threads I think the fairest way forward would be for all posts to be visible including those reporting. It's absolutely gutless imo to hide behind the skirts of private messaging to the mods.

It's an opinion forum for God's sake & as so many have said not everyone will agree with your opinions. If you're strong minded enough to post at least have the balls to have transparency on all your posts instead of spitefully, secretly spitting out your dummy.

Yes you should.

To me, it is the same thing as looking the other way when something has happened.

AGAA4 Sat 06-Jun-26 15:23:16

I've never reported anyone but I now believe that reporting someone who is being abusive is the right thing to do. If they get away with it they will just carry on. I wouldn't report every little thing but I have seen some obvious vindictiveness in the past and let it go. I should have reported that person then.

^every time I see her name it annoys me because I can't help thinking "yeah you're still here^

TerriBull, if only those of us who aren’t ‘in the know’ could know who the poster is, so that we might avoid Allira’s fate.

Agreed. This is all very divisive.

Allira when you come back with a different name can you please PM me?
PS I hope that's soon

Beware PMs.

Just sayin'.

I think Allira will be let back on...with no fanfare. Name change. HQ will have listened. Those who are able to keep in touch with her will be relieved.

Whoever the poster is hopefully will not be on the scent if that is what she or he does.

And the site will calm down.

Fingers crossed for all of the above 🤞🏼
It's been a very unsettling week 😕

Same! I hope to see Allira back soon.

I’m quite paranoid now about who the ‘other’ poster is - I’ve no clue, as my spidey skills are useless.

LauraNorderr Sat 06-Jun-26 12:08:35

Happy to do the same Aveline as I feel very strongly that this wrong needs to be righted. It will work best if we all join in, surely they can’t banish all of us simply for asking for justice.
Who else is willing?

Aveline Sat 06-Jun-26 11:48:59

I've started. I expect I'll be banned soon. sad They really don't get how upset we are. Or don't care.

Mollygo Sat 06-Jun-26 11:46:33

I’d love to see Allira back under any title, but I suspect the action you suggest would bring about multiple anonymous reports of being goady! Possibly resulting in more bans.

Yes, that is a danger. Why ‘that person’ feels so angry with Allira I can’t imagine. She didn’t particularly attack them personally.

If Allira was to come back "under the radar" so to speak, what's to say that the person who has a problem with her (if thats whats caused all this) won't realise, and hit that report button again?

That’s usually what happens when the penny drops.

They feel thwarted and can’t resist putting the boot in once again. 😡

TerriBull Sat 06-Jun-26 10:25:00

Absolutely! BlueBelle, I think agreeing with her would feed her ego particularly if she lurks on here and were to read that comment, she's the last person I'd agree with, even if I did, I wouldn't just to be obtuse. I honestly can't forgive someone who has waged such a damaging campaign against a thoroughly decent person. She's wielded way too much power already, every time I see her name it annoys me because I can't help thinking "yeah you're still here" angry . It wasn't a silly moment, her targeting Allira, that had gone on under several name change guises. I think Allira had her own posting style, sympathetic, well informed laced with her own brand of humour, she's always been funny. Maybe po -faced arbiter of all that SHE deems to be acceptable posts on GN, objected to that latter characteristic the most, cos she just doesn't have it!

Aveline Sat 06-Jun-26 10:19:34

How could anyone so down and dirty mean?! angry
