No, don't think it affected the recent election.
Everyone saw the big blue tent years ago.
This would under normal circumstances be headline news
Good to see her standing up for herself and refusing to accept blame for a crime committed by her husband.

I don't know anyone who's spent £500 on a necklace or been given one costing that much. I think the most or many of us is a huge exaggeration.
Picking up on the question of repaying what was stolen, it says on BBC News this morning that he has sufficient assets and savings to completely repay the full amount that was stolen from the party. It does beg the question why did he do it then?

She obviously needs to get her eyes checked. Not just for missing the "size of a small planet" camper van at her mother in law's but also for marrying her now ex-husband
The camper van had only 4 miles on the clock. Delivered to a storage area and then hidden at his mother’s. A fact reported in the court.
No reason for Nicola to know about it.
I’m not defending her, but I base my judgement on facts not speculation. It wasn't hidden at his mothers. It was sitting on her driveway, which was beside the house, but not in any way, shape or form hidden. I read earlier that her MiL's neighbour had said it was not hidden. I've had a look but I can't find the article.
I meant hidden from Nicola. But nit pick away!
I wonder how she missed the 108 toilet rolls he bought the day before she announced lockdown?

There is a considerable difference between seeing a blue tent three years ago and hearing a guilty admission just prior to an election. Of course delaying the court case positively affected the election for the SNP.

I expect she just turned the other cheek.
‘Turned the other cheek’. Priceless 😂

Well, the good news is that the SNP appears to have bounced back without her. 😃
Only because the announcement of Peter Murrell being charged was delayed until after the election. Maybe their diehard followers would have changed their minds.
How have they "bounced back" when they achieved their lowest constituency vote share (38.3%) since 2007, much slimmer majorities for incumbents and lost 6 seats?

She probably didn’t miss them, but it’s not her fault that he bought them. I’m neither attacking nor defending her, but the loo roll thing made me smile, as my husband had just stocked up on them (a 48 pack from Costco) when lockdown started. It wasn’t remotely strategic- it was just his routine to buy them in bulk, and the time had come - but it was embarrassing, particularly as they were stored in a room with a large window onto the garden.
There's a facetious suggestion that the motor home was hidden behind the wall of toilet rolls! More seriously Nicola was seen shopping less than 4 miles from her mother in law's house. How odd to apparently never visit her mother in law.

It’s a wonder you didn’t cause a riot in the streets with them on view 😂
Is it a peculiar British thing, that whenever there’s any kind of crisis we dash to stock up on toilet rolls?
Yes but we, the great British public, we're only informed the day after his large purchase.
OldFrill, they crashed at the GE, but now they have the majority in Holyrood.
People expected Reform to dominate, but instead it was the SNP.
That's bouncing back.
Looking at the list of items that were allegedly bought with the stolen money they all strike me as being very strange. A motor home which only travelled a few miles, hair driers for a bald man, antique cruets. Almost as though he just had to spend the money for no definite reason. Did anyone else notice this ?
They 'bounced back' with a much reduced bite share and loss of seats. Limped back would be more accurate and only because the opposition was so fragmented between Labour, Reform, Lib Dems and Greens.
Excellent article in today's Times from Daniel Finklestiene. "Thank you Nicole Sturgeon for revealing yourself". Worth a read.

I read it as well, quite pithy, but he does make some salient points about her knowledge of the purchases.
He is of course writing to entertain, his comment about her now living in London.
“ Sturgeon has apparently upped and moved to London ………… If there was now to be the referendum she was pushing for, would she be able to vote in it? “
Of course she would as she still owns property in Scotland, therefore a vote. Daniel Finkelstein know this, but it make for entertaining reading.
The whole thing absolutely beggars belief. Their house was reasonably modest. With both their salaries( no idea what Nicola was on) they could have afforded a very nice life without the need to steal. Go figure. So many people believe that NS must have been involved at least indirectly that her reputation is ruined regardless of the facts.
This is a real tragedy.
I expect it must have been considered and ruled out, but recently there has been a lot of information about a certain medication for Parkinsons and restless legs causing excessive spending, gambling and inappropriate behaviour.
I have no sympathy for her whatsoever and to be honest I think her interview with Laura Kuensberg was quite nauseating. She attempted to portray herself as a poor wee wronged wife and tried to align herself with women who have been genuinely betrayed by men and for that, I think she should be ashamed.
In no way is there any similarity between her and those women. They were not in a position of power as well as their husband's boss, they did not bully anyone who questioned the finances into resigning and tell them they should 'be very careful about asking questions' (nothing less than intimidation if you ask me), they did not consistently and repeatedly state that there was no problem and anyone who suggested otherwise was disloyal to the SNP and Scotland.
She keeps saying 'I did nothing wrong'. She may not have embezzled money, she may not have known anything about it (but as she used to like to say 'the buck stops with me'....only this time it doesn't) and if she genuinely didn't know, what does that say about her judgement? She should have known and if she didn't it's a reflection of her own self importance and incompetence that she didn't. So her poor me act doesn't wash with me at all, I'm afraid, it just makes me despise her.
You'll have gathered I'm not a fan
I feel sorry for her. She’s not the criminal here.
Yes she is guilty of covering up.
Possibly they had medical problems with their bowels. Hence, the loo rolls. Or too much coffee every day kept them rushing to the bathroom. Who knows.
