On an absolute whim, I searched 'Retread + Gransnet' and this is what AI says of me on here (love the level-headed πŸ˜‚).

In the Gransnet Forums, "Retread" is a highly regarded, long-standing community member known for offering level-headed, practical advice on a variety of subjects.

Prominent topics "Retread" frequently contributes to on the platform include: Health & Lifestyle: Providing natural tips for coping with life's pressures and offering exercise guidance (like adapting yoga poses for flexibility). Recipes & Cooking: Sharing specific, simple, and delicious culinary advice, such as oven-roasted pasta sauces and healthy snack ideas. Entertainment: Discussing and reviewing recent films.

Yeah I have just done that, it says a slightly different thing every time you do it. I am going for the one that says I am rational and avoid echo chambers.
I am frequently irrational but who is to argue with AI.
It seems to think i am particularly interested in youth unemployment which is a bit odd.

I get uite a long entry. Essentially I am a one of the most recognizable and active long-standing community members and contributors on Gransnet,

I am an active participator. I contribute to community consensus.

In other words I am a loud mouth who doesn't know when to shut up - if you ask my family.{grin}

It asked me if I was looking for a Grandma themed bag. Apparently I can find one on Amazon!! πŸ˜‚

Scribbles Thu 25-Jun-26 14:07:37

Fascinating! According to Google AI, I am a grandmother who enjoys playing board games with my visiting grandchildren and am often referred to here as 'Scribe'.

Er, I've never had any grandchildren (and have said so on GN) and have no particular enthusiasm for board games.
So far as I can recall, I've never been called Scribe, either unless folk are talking about me behind my back.

While I occasionally find a little AI input useful and time saving in my design projects, I think AI is still very much a work in progress and has a long way to go before it's a really useful aid to modern life.

I just looked me up. I sound rather nice. 😁

Apparently, my name is a direct not to famous American singer, Ketty Lester.

Only, it's not.

I chose me name because Kitty was a childhood nickname and I live near Leicester.

Georgesgran Thu 25-Jun-26 14:16:48

My Dad loved Ketty Lester - she’s sang β€˜Love Letters (straight from your heart). I can almost hear it now.

Romola Thu 25-Jun-26 14:32:14

Ooh I'm not going to do it. I'm a smug pedant and don't need reminding.

BoggledMind Thu 25-Jun-26 14:38:27

Great idea Retread

Apparently I'm well-known and active on here.

I expect we will now all crash the internet!

Iam64 Thu 25-Jun-26 14:45:13

Oh no ! I didn’t know this could happen. Feel like an innocent on the internet πŸ™ˆ

ViceVersa Thu 25-Jun-26 14:45:29

Some of these replies just prove why you should never rely on AI for accuracy! grin

SpinDriftCoastal Thu 25-Jun-26 14:47:22

It said I was a holiday cottage! Read into it what
you will!

stillawipp Thu 25-Jun-26 14:52:04

Hahaha, I sound like an absolute goddess on mine - that’s hilarious!! Thanks for a good laugh , OP πŸ™πŸ»β€οΈ

Ziplok Thu 25-Jun-26 14:53:22

Mine said how useful ziplock bags are πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Doodledog Thu 25-Jun-26 14:54:09

Are we all doing it? πŸ˜€ I started a chat with it a couple of days ago and asked it to analyse the contributions of half a dozen regular posters, based on a number of threads. It wasn't very accurate at first, but responded to my questions and is looking at a more refined profile now. It will report back tomorrow.

It's the first time I've used AI other than to get information (like a glorified Google) and to check over documents for me. I thought it would be interesting, as I feel I 'know' the posters, but they aren't 'real' in the sense that I don't know who they are, so I didn't think it was unethical. It has been interesting, in a strange way.

grumppa Thu 25-Jun-26 14:55:22

I am a "prominent, long-standing male user"!

MaizieD Thu 25-Jun-26 14:55:47

It took a while for ChatGtp to understand what I was asking. When it did its conclusions weren't as bad as I'd feared they might be.

"This is a long-standing forum regular who enjoys political debate, is probably centre-left and pro-European, and is more interested in winning an argument through reasoning than through insults."

People might disagree, but I do try to be restrained..grin

Doodledog Thu 25-Jun-26 14:58:27

You (generic) can ask it to be blunt. When I did that it changed its mind about a few people.

bookwormbabe Thu 25-Jun-26 14:59:04

Excuse my ignorance, but how and where did you do this?

Doodledog Thu 25-Jun-26 15:02:15

bookwormbabe

Excuse my ignorance, but how and where did you do this?

Go to Chat GPT, and where it asks you to ask it anything, type in a well-worded question. The more specific the better.

If you have the free version there won't be much detail, but if you subscribe you can keep asking it to refine its findings in the light of other threads.

HelterSkelter1 Thu 25-Jun-26 15:05:16

Crikey! Nothing is secret any more. Take care what you write about.

Magenta8 Thu 25-Jun-26 15:11:22

Quite a long entry considering I am not a long standing member or a constant poster. Almost complete fiction apart from the info that a Magenta 8 is a type of skateboard which I didn't know before.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 25-Jun-26 15:11:58

I asked it to be blunt - apparently I’m a prominent middle-class poster and a member of the Kew-Waitrose crowd! I like talking about my family and cats.
