Sooooo what are you lovely lot doing this particularly hot week to cool down?

I’ve just discovered if you use a cool pack (the ones you freeze for cool bags), wrapped in a paper kitchen towel, then put behind neck of back of head whilst seated is brilliant! Who’d have known.

I’ve also used it on my wrists and top of legs, in rotation.

Other than that I’ve done the usual, upped my water intake, fans on, curtains shut, not doing much!

Any others have good tips please??

Some good tips there.

My suggestion depends on the position of your house and where you can sit. We have a south-facing garden, so we're in the lounge at the front, which is north-facing. It's actually quite cool as the sun just doesn't shine towards this room. Same as the front bedroom.

Obviously the ambient temperature is high, currently 78°F, but we're quite cool with no fans on and only the kitchen window open.

Even so, sitting in a north-facing room helps if you can do that.

Boots own branded old fashioned lavender cologne / toilet water - decanted into spray bottles and kept in the fridge - spray liberally all over

The button of my trouser legs got soaked by dew this morning when I walked the dog around 7:30am.
I’m not sure I’d recommend it but with cool ankles, I was beautifully cool until they dried out.

Draught Guinness in a shady corner of the King's Head.

A long cool bath. Start lukewarm and just let cold water trickle in until you are completely covered and beginning to shiver with cold. Get out of the bath, dry in the air without clothes and then go to bed. You should get 5 or 6 hours cool sleep'

I am also using damp hats and socks.

Add ice to your wine, cools it down with the plus of upping your intake of H2O

Along those lines - a nice chilled rosé. And there is a bit of a breeze in our garden currently.
