Hate to say it but I don’t read many emails from gransnet. I get too many emails every day and just read the ones concerning the groups I am involved with in real life.If I get banned I probably won’t even know until I attempt to post. A few times I have decided this stuff is not for me and I don’t ‘fit in’ but then something good comes on , usually not political, and I come back. I really hope Allira comes back,even if she uses another name.

I often wonder whether ‘some people’ think they slip under the radar when they make personal or otherwise unkind digs at others. That might work in their real lives, but it doesn’t when comments stay online for all to see.

petra, has there been any acknowledgment of this thread and the groundswell of support for Allira’s reinstatement?

We really do need some answers ! Why are they so afraid to talk to us, do they think if they keep quiet we ll trail off into the sunset, bored. the admin soon pop up at other times

I just don't think Justine will be involved in the specifics of moderating decisions, sorry to be a wet blanket.

Hinting that it may be a consequence of a particular group because of their politics feels out of sync with the genuine warmth here.

Oh dear.

What started as a thread about someone being banned for no obvious reason has become one about cliques and boats and factions/Mean Girls and so on.

FWIW, I understand all of that and why it's relevant, but if what we (as a collective force) want is to see Allira reinstated (as I do), then we have to ignore it and ask for a fair and objective system of moderation, so that everyone can understand what is acceptable on here and what isn't..

What I was saying is that there are those who are dragging in grievances and political comments to a thread which should have a single purpose.

If we want to make this protest work and get Allira back, what we need (IMO) to do is to ask for clear and fair rules, and more transparent moderation, rather than use the thread to make digs at one another.

Is that clearer?

Good grief ! I’ve just read through this thread which had previously escaped my notice while I was away from home. I’m appalled that this has happened to Allira and I hope this injustice will be put right by GNHQ .

Perhaps they are taking time to refine their answers as it is obvious that whatever is said will be shared here?

I don't share the mods hostility thing but this one has really puzzled me.

I have got to wondering if Allira said something in her inbox[or outbox or whatever it is called].

But I had a read through of the guidelines, and nothing was mentioned about inboxes that I could see.

And wouldnt she have been told about that, if that had been the case?

Surely she has been told the reason[s] for the ban?
