Whether they are banned or simply stop contributing it seems this happens reasonably often. It is a shame ,particularly when someone who has been a ‘regular’ is banned and most of us have no idea what caused it. A recent person to be banned never, as far as I am aware, transgressed . Sometimes I think someone with opposing views complains and causes a banning quite unnecessarily and we are the poorer for it. It would be very boring indeed if we all held the same views on everything.

From what you posted a few posts ago, sounds like you are on last warnings anyway. So maybe you dont care whether this site gets closed or not.
But other posters do.

Believe me, as of now i have never had a final warning.
As for my previous posts, I stand by every word I’ve written and will fight tooth and nail to right an injustice.
It’s obvious that you disagree with the banning of a much loved and respected member but that is your right to do so.

Now mind reading as well.

I will say it one last time!

I dont know why she was banned. I dont know the facts.
How can I know if it was just or not?

If it was just, then Ok.
If it wasnt just, then obviously not ok.

I am not going to keep on repeat myself.
The end.

Hello everyone, just a quick note from GNHQ: while we cannot discuss individual posters with other GNers, on this thread or via email, what we can say is that we do not ban posters arbitrarily - there is a process. And unless a poster is an obvious spammer or a troll they are afforded many opportunities to adhere to our guidelines before we would ban.
Pip.

So does this imply that Allure was "afforded many opportunities to adhere to our guidelines" before ultimately being banned? I find that hard to fathom.

Exactly what I've posted twice on this thread. I find it impossible, along with obviously many others, to believe Allira has transgressed many times. I still think this was a mean-spirited targeted attack on a lovely poster.

Wyllow3 Thu 28-May-26 13:29:57

I appreciate its frustrating not to know "being the scenes" but there may - not in this case - but there may be very personal stuff involved as to the "why's and "wherefores" of the action taken,

involving vulnerable posters or those who have not acted in malice.

We can't have it both ways - most of us want a fairly protected space to share, and that means everything cannot be utterly transparent.

Petra - sorry I've only just had a chance to get on GN to see your email link. I've sent mine and will probably be banned because I ended mine saying to Justine that if she's not read / not aware of the depth of feeling from us Netters (her members) then shame on her. If I'm given the elbow I just want to say a massive thanks to Petra for finding Justine's email, her loyal support to her friend and it's another reason to once again heed that Petra's often said about getting contact details for your poster friends. Keep strong Allira - We're all rooting for you. flowers

Allira isn't the type to shrug off a warning.
She just isn't.

Please enlighten as to "many opportunities to adhere to our guidelines" as it seems to me Allira may be tad too legalistic to have broken "rules".

It doesn’t work like that at all.

I had two warnings.

The first I emailed back and said I really couldn’t see how my comment had breached the guidelines. Please could they explain. I received no reply.

The second was a thread where someone had posted about a personal problem with lots of details. I commented negatively on the posters actions. The poster reported me. A number of other comments similar to mine were also deleted. Only positive ones remained.

Then my final warning. I have no idea what thread, poster or comment caused it. Just that I would be banned if I was reported again.

That’s how it works in practice. For Allira too I guess.

Millie22 Thu 28-May-26 13:56:58

If you come back to GN with a different name do any previous warnings still apply to you or do you have a clear record again.

I wonder if that was a factor.

Maremia Thu 28-May-26 14:17:11

Thanks for sharing that explanation Lathyrus.

No, I don't think she is - nor do I believe she's the type to receive multiple warnings anyway, given the nature of her posts. Unless someone is maliciously reporting her for reasons known only to themselves?
However, as I said before, I know at least one poster who was reported on numerous occasions but is still posting to this day - so how does one person get banned and another seems to avoid any type of censure?

But who would feel the need to report Allira?

Could people who have emailed Justine please report back. I haven't - quite a but going on here at the mo.

But, if anyone looks at this thread - please assume i would if I had time.

I did get a polite response after reporting my own post to moderator. They said they are aware of the matter.

MissAdventure Thu 28-May-26 15:05:54

Well, that's something, at least.

Squiffy Thu 28-May-26 15:07:45

Nope! No reply to mine either…yet!

Nothing so far. Maybe they are pondering?
