China is a fantastic place to visit it was our 6th time. It’s so diverse and I’d recommend it to anyone. It’s hard for me to eat being coeliac as it’s unknown there so I can’t recommend it to anyone with coeliac disease.

Thank you Gala I shall investigate those.
I am now intrigued to find out about a country I hadn’t even thought about much, beyond the politics, before.

Usedtobeblondecan I recommend an award winning BBC documentary called Wild China, a truly stunning series of a fascinating country. I was so taken with it I bought the DVD & the book. It was made in 2008 & is currently unavailable on BBC iPlayer but periodically shows up there. The DVD is still available - eBay, Amazon etc.

Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Didn’t sleep well, got up had a cup of tea and dropped off again.
I have an attack of shingles, even having the jab and yesterday twisted my ankle on cobbles, even wearing my sensible shoes.
Wasn’t pleased with my artwork either, the more I worked on it, the worse it got.

Last night I went to to a local well attended play, but left half time as I had the measure of it and didn’t feel too enthusiastic. It’s always nice to see ex students there and my DDs ex does the lighting.

DD has flown to Greece with two old school friends and I hope she has nice weather. I can’t seem to get warm and am going by train later to an opera in the city. I’m meeting a friend whose sister abroad has just died, but she doesn’t want to cancel. We’ll have a bite to eat beforehand.
Thoughts to all🌺

What fascinating photographs WhiteSwan I must admit I have never considered the geography of China.
I must revise my ideas.

Good morning, Michael12 and everyone!

My boss asked me to swap days again, so instead of having yesterday off, I was on, but I have got today off instead.

I bought my 4 magazines - Your Cat, Chat, That's Life, and Love It! - so I will be starting to read those tonight, with Your Cat first, of course!

An ice-cold bottle of Stella and an Ahh Bisto! Bangers and Mash.

YouTube videos of Dark Wilderness/Clay Gibbs. He's a hunter, which I'm 100% against, but he's a brilliant host of true-life paranormal/cryptid stuff, and he presents them well with a good voice for them, too.

Two months ago, he did one called ''This officer was told "It was just a bear", but he KNOWS what he shot at'' All the stories he gets emailed to are genuine stories, and I'm fascinated! Remind me never to go camping or driving in the wilderness, day or night!

Tatty bye for now!

What beautiful photos WhiteSwan.

Good morning everyone from the East Coast and we have some lovely blue sky peeping through after an early sea mist. The garden is looking great after our 3 weeks away though the grass needs cutting and DH isn’t well so it may not get done today.

Our time in China has been amazing. The family are well and our DGS is such a cutie. At almost three he’s fluent in 2 languages and got very frustrated trying to get me to say thankyou in Chinese the correct way. I had to keep asking him what his Nanny was saying to us.

We arrived home last night after a long drive from Gatwick. We stopped at a services to watch the live stream of our best friend’s funeral. Naturally it was heartbreaking. They did a photo montage to There you’ll be by Faith Hill. Our photo came up of the six of us on one of our holidays together. Many tissues were used.
We also needed to stop at Tesco to fill up the fridge.

The DGC have missed us so are coming over today to pick up their many gifts. We have the girls beautiful Chinese outfits which I hope will fit.

The pictures are of the beautiful Karst mountains of limestone which are famous in the Guanxi province with the rice paddie fields in the forefront. X

Wishing everone celebrating a birthday a great day🎉
Thoughts to those struggling with illness and stress. 💐

Morning, rather late from a sunny, cool S Hants.
bluesapphire 🍷
I hope your sleepover goes well bellas we have our granddaughter tonight, slightly different at 18, chuffed she chooses to spend time with us.
Yesterday was showery again, of course it rained when the window cleaner came, grocery delivery and I stayed put while MrJ went to our local.
Washing to do, couple of phone calls to make, exercises and football to watch.
Pretty FGT 🙂
Have a gentle day if you can all.
Thanks for this thread Mick 👍

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Home again after a week in beautiful Yorkshire.
DD and SIL took me shopping and I stocked up with basics.

DS and GD will not be visiting this weekend as GD is in the middle of her GCSEs and will be revising.
I have plenty to keep me busy and I have a novel to finish.
Meals will be easy options this weekend.
Have a good weekend.

Good morning from another chilly day in Stockport.
I went for an outing to a local shop on my scooter yesterday and it was decidedly nippy.
A nothing day today, just some laundry to fold and put away from my two loads yesterday,I can’t dry outside so with using the tumble drier and needing the CH on the bills for both gas and electricity are not going to be going down yet.

Ziplok Sat 16-May-26 08:43:24

Good morning all
Sunny here at the moment, but getting cloudier. I hope it stays dry at least until my washing dries.
Wishing you all all the best.

Good morning all. Another bright, chilly start with rain expected later, here in Essex.

DGD has gone home for the weekend. Dd gradually feeling better. I’m going to try to find an immunologist for her as she needs an extreme body re-boot. Perhaps a nutritionist ! Someone who will know what they’re talking about. The hospital/docs don’t seem to be of any help.

DS1 and DIL will pop in for coffee this morning and I’m off to a cancer relief charity afternoon tea. It very popular every year and they make a lot of money. My friend organises it with volunteer friends of hers but they are all in their 80’s now and it’s a long day , baking, sandwich making , apart from setting up and clearing away. I think this could be the last year. 😢.

Bellasnanna I’m sure your little chaps will be fine. They are used to being with you and in your home. How exciting for them!

Marydoll I hope all goes well and the flowers last the day. I well remember our two boys and DD’s first Holy Communions . The excitement and joy.

I love your nails Fgt and a nice length. .

Have a happy day all.🌺

Good Morning from Durham. It’s a bright, sunny start, but still cool. The heating has come on.
It seems that lots of us are having a quiet weekend. I’m the same. DGS2 has his football and swimming lessons today, so I might see him later or perhaps just tomorrow. I still have Little Dog here, but I’d like him to go home soon.

Best wishes to all. X

Gelisajams Sat 16-May-26 08:26:57

Good morning Mick and all from Morecambe Bay where a cool mainly dry day awaits.
We returned home safely yesterday evening after a good journey. My friend and I called in at Howick Hall Garden and Arboretum where went on a conducted tour of the delightful garden before meeting back up with DH who had been walking with Crazy dog. We stood in awe of the powerful waves then went our separate ways.
When we got home we were delighted with the decorator’s work. The only problem being the smell of the paint.
We were awake late this morning but will take Crazy dog for his walk then start putting everything back in its place. Take care everyone. flowers

Greyduster Sat 16-May-26 08:20:55

Bellasnana you’ll have a lovely time with the boys I’m sure. It will be an adventure for them. GS always started out in his own bed and always ended up in ours, where he was like a little windmill, all arms and legs!! Happy days!

Grandmabatty Sat 16-May-26 08:20:12

Kitty I'm so pleased for your daughter. I wish her well in her new job.

Greyduster Sat 16-May-26 08:17:19

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining at the moment in South Yorkshire and we shall have a dry day. Much of it will be spent trying to find a home for all the paperwork I’ve been dealing with recently which is still covering the dining table, and having a general clean ready for DS and DiL’s visit tomorrow. I must also try and do a bit more weeding in the top bed this afternoon. First off, though, a trip to Aldi for essentials.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Susan56 Sat 16-May-26 08:14:36

Good morning from Shropshire.Light rain at the moment.

A lovely evening with the children. They had both received certificates in assembly yesterday. As we were leaving school DGD said I forgot my certificate so we went back for it.As we were driving away, H said I was star of the week but I have left my award in school🤦🏼‍♀️Both were tired after a busy week so went to bed early.I hope the boys settle for you tonight Bellasnana.I am sure there will be great excitement!

Today DD will collect the children mid morning as DGD has a party to go go.After they have left it will be laundry for me and gardening or more sorting in the garage for DH.Possibly a tip run.We have done a lot of clearing out but DD may want a couple of larger items🤞🏻

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

Not a lot happening here today. We will nip to see DD3 who had a wonderful send off on her final day as a TA. She is very sad to leave but has a new job, starting on Monday, running the office at a different, much better run, school.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Leamington.
DD1 and SIL arrived back from Scotland early yesterday evening. 10 year old DGD was so excited to see them, the older two just take everything in their stride.
I have done something to my back and it is extremely painful, almost to the point of not being able to move.
I'll take some painkillers once I'm up and have eaten something.
Today the 10 year old has a tennis lesson then later DD1 and I will take her into Warwick for her singing lesson, she's a busy 🐝.
I love Warwick so I'm sure we'll have a wander around.
I think we are all going out for a meal this evening.
I hope you all have an enjoyable day xx
