Had a good hour of torrential rain last night. It’s started again around 10am and it will last all day, according to the forecast. Am very happy about it but have to take the dog out anytime soon. 😂☔️☔️

Happily set off with the dog a while ago, but we are both now sitting at home drying off.
Delighted to see the rain here in the south. I feared we would miss out again as I thought we may be a bit too far west of the main predicted area in the south east but all’s well! Been raining pretty heavily here since at least 6am and possibly earlier.
Doesn’t the air smell wonderfully fresh? It’s still humid but definitely fresher.
Just started to rain here in Cheshire. It feels as though we’ve been living in a tepid soup for days so some real rain might relieve that, but hopefully not so much that anywhere gets flooded.
No rain here, my washing is out and I’ve been painting the fence this morning, it’s still very muggy. It does make a change for everybody else to have rain, but not mid Wales.
Light to moderate rain here and currently just a few spits and spots. Some has found its way into my water butt. However, it is probably the most we have had at any one time since May, and very welcome. Too late for some plants, unfortunately, which have died in spite of my efforts with buckets of "grey" water over the weeks of drought.
My decision not to water my patio pots last night has been vindicated! This part of Berkshire has missed any rain that has fallen in surrounding areas. But it happened last night and is continuing with welcome showers - not for the avid cricketers in my family,
Hasn’t stopped raining here in SE today. Yes it’s good, but why now, just as we are setting off for a couple of days by the seaside…. Thunderstorms and rain forecast for every day til we leave, when the sun returns.
We’ve had steady rain since 10 am - the kind that is best for gardens as it’s got chance to soak into the ground rather than a sudden heavy downpour that just runs off and causes flooding problems. It’s set for the day and the next few days, which I’m pleased about. The smell when I went out earlier was glorious. I forget the special name, no doubt it will come back to me, but it’s that earthy smell you get when it begins to rain after days of dry weather. Another good thing is that it has stopped the flying ants - we were plagued with them yesterday.
We’ve had about an hour’s rain this morning (Scotland). It was heavy and it looks as though there’s more to come. Over the past two weeks we’ve had enough rain that I’ve only had to water the garden a couple of times. I’ve a few plants I want to put in so to have some proper rain will set them up well.
Still nothing here in our bit of Dorset, half a dozen spots earlier. Light shower a couple days ago, dried nearly as soon as it hit the ground, and one lot during the night a couple days earlier is all we have had for some time. The flower beds have big cracks and plants are going over very quickly. The forecast says more tomorrow for the SW.
Here's a thing - my DD and SIL make their living organizing outdoor orchestral concerts with fireworks etc. and a folk festival. Both these are this weekend and are right in the firing line of the storms- a year's work and vast expenditure blown away!
And another of my DDs works for them - so that's 2 DDs getting drowned this weekend!
