Good morning Mick Susan56, and all who follow. It's so dark and so wet outside I won't be venturing out for a while. Enjoy your mystery tour Mick. It must be fun as the journey nears it's destination to realise how close you were in your predictions.

My DD is in the UK to attend a friend's wedding today so I hope it's a bit better in the Cotswolds. I will see her tomorrow before she leaves again. I have a shopping list of things she wants to take home tomorrow, so it's a trip to Liverpool for me today.

Gillly and her DH are very much in my thoughts, also everyone coping with health and family issues. Hope today sees a breakthrough.

We do alter the clocks today don't we? I got it wrong last week.

Yes Ginny the clocks go back one hour tonight.

We have tracked down the source of the problem but have to wait for a dry period before it can be repaired as some of the slates will have to be removed.

Very grey and windy and ‘orrible here in the north of Norfolk.

DGDog is curled up on the sofa. He goes home this afternoon when DS and family return from their hols and I’ve an impulse buy top to collect from M&S. Internet shopping is just too easy!

Hoping the antibiotics have kicked in for Mr Gillybob. Take care of yourself Gilly. And you Marydoll - no overdoing it!

It is very wet and dark here in Cheshire.
It will be even worse when the clocks go back.

Oh what a miserable morning! Just nipped for a paper and it and me are sopping!

Rugby this morning and make some more blackberry and apple jam (I keep giving it away) this afternoon. Conwy Feast is on this weekend but will give it a miss today and hope for a dry afternoon tomorrow.

Be nice to have an extra hour tomorrow after turning clocks back tonight but I can never remember how to do the car clock so I’ll probably waste some of that hour fiddling!

Good Morning - This is my first time on gransnet and I’m not sure what I’m doing as yet! I joined because I have a dilemma and needed to hear other grandparents thoughts on how I ought to proceed ! It sounds real stupid that I have difficulty saying what I need to say to my daughter-in-law, but my past advice has not been well received so I don’t say much anymore, but, I can’t help worrying about the fact she scrapes back my Toddler granddaughters hair back so tight every day into a ponytail that makes her look bald. The main thing is I’ve read that this can, if done regularly, cause permanent hair loss and headaches. My heart always sinks when I see photos of her like that and it’s spoiling the joy I should be feeling. How can I tell my daughter in law that what she’s doing could cause long term damage to her lovely hair, which we never get to see anyway!? I mean well but find it very hard to give advice without coming across as criticising her. Any advice for me out there please!?

Good morning all from a very chilly Glasgow, it's only 3 degrees.

I would have posted earlier, but I have been lying, afraid to move, with a tiny pair of arms clamped around my neck.
We had a delightful, but exhausting day with DGD yesterday. I spent the afternoon, lying on the couch watching CBeebies. We don't usually let DGD watch much TV, but I was wiped out after the shopping.
I did make it to LIDL, but I think the euphoria of being out for the first time in ages addled my brain, we spent a fortune!! I kept saying to DH, Just get it, in case I can't get out again!!

It's another day day of doing little again, as I'm exhausted and feeling a bit out of sorts. Still suffering side effects, but nowhere as severe as previously, thank goodness! Hope springs eternal.
DS and DIL will be down earliesh to relieve us of our duties, but I suspect DD will be here even earlier to take over from me. She adores DGD.

Susan, I'm plagued with reflux, ?try and get a nap later on.
Ginny how lovely to have a visit, albeit fleeting, from your daughter.
Kitty, I'm glad you have found the source of the leak at last.
For al those with grandchildren staying, enjoy the peace while it lasts, my wee granddaughter only woke up, because she elbowed me in the eye and I let out a scream!

And I shouldn’t worry too much. My DD1 scraps DGD’s hair back every morning into a bunch or pigtail as she’s a complete tomboy. It hasn’t thinned her hair at all and anyway hair is usually escaping before lunchtime.
