Looks like the Daily Mail is being sued by them regarding a private letter from the Duchess to her estranged father.

Who is behind the letter being shown to the paper? An unhappy member of their staff? Or Mr. Markle maybe?

Bridgeit Thu 03-Oct-19 16:17:08

Those of you who purport to dislike them , seem to be the ones who are disproportionately posting ?

Anniebach Thu 03-Oct-19 16:21:24

Do you count posts ?

grapefruitpip Thu 03-Oct-19 16:28:59

I did wonder what an unlovely colour would be?

Bagatelle Thu 03-Oct-19 16:39:19

Isn't this really about Harry's mental health problems?

Bridgeit Thu 03-Oct-19 16:40:06

Ohh Annie, I’m disappointed , that comment is beneath you.

Anniebach Thu 03-Oct-19 16:51:07

Bridgeit, I didn’t like your criticism- disproportionately posting ,

Anniebach Thu 03-Oct-19 16:52:05

I think so Bagatelle

Bridgeit Thu 03-Oct-19 17:00:44

Ok thanks for Clarification Annie

crystaltipps Thu 03-Oct-19 17:08:19

Uppity little madam is obviously what the haters on here think. She’s obviously not good enough for some. Plenty of horrible bitchy comments, just because she’s not some upper class gel from the Home Counties.

Anniebach Thu 03-Oct-19 17:20:09

upper class gel? I dislike talk of class,

Kate’s mother was an airline hostess, she is a decendant of a coal miner, suppose Kate could be classed! new money?

I dislike Megan, have from the start of their relationship, I think she is a self centred, with a desire for the world stage.

Gonegirl Thu 03-Oct-19 17:22:41

You don't even know her AB!!!

That is such a daft post.

Anniebach Thu 03-Oct-19 17:31:01

Couldn’t match many of your posts gonegirl , I said ‘I think’
not ‘I know’, this means it’s my opinion yes ?

Namsnanny Thu 03-Oct-19 18:07:34

It’s not class or colour I object toit’s privilaged hypocrisy so difficult to ignore!

lemongrove Thu 03-Oct-19 18:08:35

What a load of po faced comments from some posters on here.
I think that she is a lovely colour....and so what? My own DIL is a similar colour and I really admire it, being very pale skinned myself.Stop seeing ‘racism’ everywhere for heavens sake.

Summerlove Thu 03-Oct-19 18:15:36

Stop seeing ‘racism’ everywhere for heavens sake

Really?

grapefruitpip Thu 03-Oct-19 18:18:19

Some of my best friends are a lovely colour.

Summerlove Thu 03-Oct-19 18:18:29

How lucky your DIL is that you admire her colour. ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️

I’m not “seeing racism everywhere”, but it’s hard as hell to miss when people double down on it after being told that their phrases are racist in undertone.

But, yeah, double down. That always helps.

lemongrove Thu 03-Oct-19 18:22:36

grapefruitpip....since you follow me around from thread to thread just waiting to get a dig in, I tend to ignore your silly jibes.
Summerlove am guessing you are an escapee from Mumsnet ( you certainly sound young.)
Thank you, I certainly will double down on it ( never heard of that before).

EvilDIL Thu 03-Oct-19 18:25:34

Honestly, the DM report on them has been horrid and just designed to entice people to vent racism.

Well done for Harry standing up to it. Katherine gets praised and Meghan gets vilified for the exact same behaviour.

grapefruitpip Thu 03-Oct-19 18:25:45

lemon, no I don't follow you at all. Possibly Summer is American? Just a guess.

Loislovesstewie Thu 03-Oct-19 18:53:52

It didn't occur to me that she was mixed race until someone else pointed it out, that was before the wedding. If there is a problem it is that she doesn't understand what it means to be part of the royal family and doesn't seem to want to learn. It seems that no-one can criticize her for fear of being called racist and that helps no-one. If there is a valid criticism to make then it must be made as the alternative will only lead to more issues.

FWIW I don't agree with the monarchy but accept that I am in a minority. However I think that while we pay for them and their expensive tastes then they have to understand that they keep to certain expectations. So , they are polite to us plebs, they allow us glimpses of their life and kids and they don't complain. I think Meghan needs to understand that she represents the royal family especially the Queen when out and about and not just certain sections of society.
Most people in the UK, I think, don't give much thought to a persons race; we think much more about how they behave. In fact the population of the UK in 2011 was 87% white, the next biggest ethnic group was Asian ( which means from the Indian sub continent ) and Black was behind that. Most came to the UK after the Second World War, although some came between the wars, including some of my family members. I mention that because the UK is not the USA , we don't have the same issues with race . Slavery was not in existence in the UK in the way it was in the USA. There was slavery in the Caribbean but those slaves were emancipated before the USA did so with their slaves. Many black people in the West Indies considered the UK to be their motherland . I agree that some individuals are racist but there was never legislation to uphold that view.
Finally I have mixed race family and friends . My thoughts about Meghan aren't to do with her race but are more to do with the lecturing we seem to be getting from Harry and Meghan at present.
I suspect that I will now get the sort of comments that tell me I am racist , which will amuse me because you don't know my race!

Anniebach Thu 03-Oct-19 19:30:52

The same behaviour , Katherine and Megan ?

Summerlove Thu 03-Oct-19 19:35:12

So, because you dislike what I say, I must be young and have escaped from mumsnet?

No, and no. But that’s perfectly dismissive, and I would expect nothing less.

Summerlove Thu 03-Oct-19 19:35:41

Also, no, I’m not American.

Loislovesstewie Thu 03-Oct-19 19:43:11

So why say 'double down'? It's definitely an American phrase.
