God and I have this agreement.
He knows I find it hard to believe in his existence and is quite understanding about it. If at any time I change my mind, he says, he'll be there, as in fact he is anyway.
We also agreed I'd be a Baptist, just as a trial (take that which ever way you like).
Baptists don't give up anything for Lent, having already decided, in the doctrine, to give up everything pleasurable in life anyway.
No booze, smokes, high living, fast men or women, gambling, smiling, no indulgences of any kind.
God know why he wanted me to be a Baptist!
Every now and then I ask him about Buddhism but as Buddhist don't worship God, he chooses not to answer, or he's sulking, one of the two.
Perhaps I'll give up God for Lent, that should fix him.
