I know I am being completely unreasonable here, but...

I think it is a shame that so many young women look like clones instead of individuals ???

I'm sure I wore some stupid things in my youth (probably still do) but I do wonder about the longer term effects of some of these fashion trends.

Cat bum pout ??? Not a good look in my view but I have the choice of not looking at it. Slug eyebrows, again not a good look in my view but ...

If they are drawn in it will be easy to change. If they are tattooed on, which seems to be a trend now too, I feel sorry for someone trying to deal with that after the trend has passed by.

I sort of wish I could afford, had the nerve for, fillers and so on then I think why would I bother.

I'm just thankful that I have never felt the pressure that some people feel to conform to any particular look.

Also my lips have enough wrinkles around them without doing cat bum pout When it comes to pumped up lips I get an ear worm of "My wife has lips like a blowfish" a line from a song in the film Michael.

tell you what I think is silly ,that women flutter there hands in front of their face when they hot or bothered ,makes me laugh.......

Not just the trout pout but numerous other ''look at me am I not beautiful'?

Hear hear Monica. I've looked at a girl wearing an ultra short skirt sometimes & thought 'Hmm, that's a bit much'. And then I remember when I was 18, working in a London hotel, wearing a black pleated mini skirt & white shirt. The tips we were left were in direct proportion to the length of our skirts lol. So I then think 'Get over yourself, they're not doing anything we didn't. It's only jealousy .

But if we're talking about the ridiculous, it's the guys wearing their trousers half way down - and yes, I have seen one trying to run with them like it and actually tripping over. Sorry but I had tears streaming down my face.....

Yes, it does irritate me. The last few years nearly every female selfie on Facebook contained a pouting face. It does seem to be going out of fashion now, thank goodness.

Oh MOnica, you did take me back to the 60s, Twiggy was my icon. I remember drawing on those eyelashes on skin. along with my top and bottom false eyelashes. I thought I looked wonderful. I look back at my wedding photograph and look as if I have 2 great spiders on my eyes.

Remember that woman Candice something on Bake Off? Pout Central! I don't even think she realised she was doing it.

Yes they do look very very silly but so did we in our teeny, tiny mini skirts, knee high white boots, painted on eyelashes and white lipstick! Then later our hot pants, knickerbockers, massive shoulder pads and enormous hair!!! But didn't we have fun!!!!!

I also dislike 'the trout pout', these days everyone seems to aspire to look the same.

Also dislike many men having their 'designer beards, much prefer a clean shaven appearance.

I don't care for big black stern eyebrows on young girls, but tastes change and fashion rules, as it always has. Thinking beehive hair and white lipstick.

I’m with you there MOnica! Cropped hair, pelmet skirts, skinny sweaters, thin eyebrows, false eyelashes, white lips - the works. A workman once laughed out loud at me, I thought he’s just jealous, I’m off a fab night at the disco and he’s not. There’s confidence for you and it’s never failed me yet.

I to think this is bad, I have seen many young women doing this, I think they are beautiful just the way they are, Everyone is, Plastic surgery should be for those who have been injured or disfigured or who have had cancer.

Everyone should be happy the way they are if other people are not happy with you then you don’t need them in your life.

They do the silly selfie pout because they think it makes them look sexy, along with the come hither eyes.

Trout pout, tattoos and clown eyebrows. Why do they want them they look awful.
Its the same with foundation the young mostly have such lovely skin they don't need it.
Mind you I can remember an awful perm and bottom eyelashes (think Twiggy) that I used to draw on.

Fennel is absolutely right. The trout pout is supposed to resemble female parts. Think Kim Kardashian and her (in)famous video. That’s why it’s so sad some young women are showing how available and compliant they might be.

Yes but ....I remember being fourteen and painting freckles in my face and drawing twiggy long lashes under my eyes! I probably looked hilarious but I enjoyed it. Fashions come and go and don’t let’s get old and miserable. When you have young skin it does seem a shame to cover it up with so much make up but most of us have done it. I remember panstick (think that’s what it was called) makeup too and spit in mascara! It is not half as much fun now trying to hide rather than accentuate!

I've never smoked or pouted for a camera, I hate my photo being taken, so why do I have those lines?

It is the white gnashers that get me. Why do people think they are glamorous? Does TV make them worse I wonder? Of course yellow teeth are worse, but do they have to be brilliant white?

Are the new crowns people sport worth having? I have noticed that there are very few bars of chocolate on sale and a great increase in the number of bags of 'mini' pieces of chocolate and am presuming that it is just not possible to bite with these teeth? You can buy bread without crusts now too: not a bad thing I suppose but the birds miss out.

I have no problem with the pouting or the long eye lashes (tried the latter myself for a special occasion) but I don’t get the thick eye brow thing? Why is that attractive?? It doesn’t suit any of the young women I have seen out and about and I just don’t get that look? If any one does please explain it ?
