Hi 12Michael,

I haven't responded to you in a while. It's Saturday evening here and I am worn out by last week. We have had ridiculous amounts of rain here, considering it's summer time, but today has been warm and sunny and I guess I'd better go and get my laundry off the line. Have a happy Christmas and a lovely New Year.

Willow10 Sat 22-Dec-18 06:29:14

Good morning Mick and all who follow. Youngest son is doing Christmas this year so wants me to meet him at the supermarket at 7 am! I went to bed early, only to be woken by him texting me - twice - so then couldn't get back to sleep. Don't you just love them! Have a good day everyone.

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark and dry corner of Somerset. Hope to finish the last food bits today and do some cleaning. Hope Saturday is kind to everyone.

Good Morning Mick, absent, Willow, corner and everyone!

We are forecast a sunny and mild day here on the south coast which suits me just fine. DH is off out with the bike club and I need a library trip to stock up for the next 10 days. I have to have a good supply of books as I often find I have read a book previously, once I start reading.

Like you Mick, I am doing a small gammon joint today which will feed us for a day or two.

The road outside is finished after months of disruption and dirt. It looks good and the traffic is moving freely. It is only a B road but is the main road from the north of the area into our lovely little harbour town. A good Christmas present to we residents for sure! tchgrin

Morning all!

North Leicestershire is dark and dry but we had rain over night.

Lots of bits and bobs to do today.

ninathenana Sat 22-Dec-18 07:14:44

Morning everyone.

Dark and dry in Kent. We have friends coming this evening for mulled wine and nibbles. I thought I'd finished the food shopping yesterday until after Boxing day but forgot a couple of bits. So will pop out this morning. Then relax until our friends come.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from Glasgow.
I've no idea what the weather is like, as I've DDG sleeping beside me and I'm afraid to move in case I waken her.
She has coughed on and off all night, so I'm exhausted!
At one point, I was clinging on to the edge of the bed for dear life, as she kept moving near and nearer the edge!?
At least mummy and daddy got a sleep for the first time in ages.?
DD is coming this morning to watch " Muppets Christmas Carol" with her, to allow me to get on with things.ie, the denim alterations and ice the Christmas cake, which didn't get done yesterday!
It will be like having two children instead of one, so I'm not holding out much hope for a restful day.
I must gird my loins for what is ahead.
Enjoy your gammon folks and have a good day all.
Only three sleeps to go.?

Good morning everyone from Essex by the sea. I've been awake since 5, brain in overdrive !
Nothing much planned today. We went to the supermarket yesterday, I've never seen it so busy, had to hunt for a parking place, glad that's over.
Have a good day everyone.

NanKate Sat 22-Dec-18 07:52:49

Morning Mick Kitty Mary and All.

Calm and dry here in South Bucks.

Need 2 or 3 things to finish off the Christmas food shopping. Not daring to take the car, it only takes 15 mins to walk into town but the haul back up the hill resembles scaling the Eiger ?

Packing for 10 days away will take major planning by me as the car will be full of food and presents too. Fortunately DH packs his own clothes. Wish me luck.

Morning All

It looks as if it’s going to be a nice day after all the rain yesterday. I feel we should go out - somewhere!

I shouldn’t bother icing the Christmas cake Marydoll, stick a snowman on the top and say it’s the latest thing. A low sugar cake! We’re halfway through eating ours (his idea to start it, there’s only us wot likes it). and I’m thinking I should make another.

aggie Sat 22-Dec-18 07:55:10

Good Morning , I do my ham/gammon in half apple juice , half water Michael , a halved onion under the joint too . Got the cake iced yesterday , must remember onions today for the stuffing . Need to do two lots as some folks can't come so sending it to them

dragonfly46 Sat 22-Dec-18 08:00:15

Good Morning.

Got to battle with the hospital and carehome to get my
Mum out today.

Marydoll Sat 22-Dec-18 08:02:35

Aggie, I'm curious as to what's in your stuffing?
The reason I ask is I've only found out that the recipe I've been using for the past forty years is one my old Irish grannie brought from Ireland and it has loads of onions in it.☺️

DoraMarr Sat 22-Dec-18 08:03:14

Good morning Michael, Annie and everyone from a bright and mild Birmingham. I'm just waiting for breakfast in bed, then up and out to a babies' disco in townsmile

Marydoll Sat 22-Dec-18 08:03:25

* dragonfly*, good luck for today.

Morning all. Dry at last here in Northampton after a very wet night. The heavens opened about midnight and we had a monsoon type shower. Need to pop to the shops later so hope we don't get a repeat performance.

The house is strangely empty without the cats who were deposited at the cattery yesterday. They did not like being left!

Lovely lunch out yesterday with ex teaching colleagues; supposed to be about 12 there, but must have been nearer 20! Not bad, considering our school was closed down due to the restructuring of the education system here in Northampton about 15 years ago. We are now mostly all retired; one or two youngsters in their 50s still at the chalk front though.

Nice evening at neighbours for drinks - bottles of fizz were opened! And got home to good rugby news - our team had a good away win, glad I recorded the match which I shall watch this afternoon.

Icing the Christmas cake today, and plugging my new Kindle in to charge up overnight.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders. Quiet and not cold. I still have lots to do but it's all local. Sorry about your coughing DGD Marydoll . Wishing everyone a restful Christmas.

Auntieflo Sat 22-Dec-18 08:14:48

Morning Michael, Annie to come, and all others.
NFK you may have just solved the problem of what to do with my cake. It has had a coat of fondant icing, but apart from that is still quite naked.
Not much to do today, but I do have a pair of trousers that need altering, so may get the sewing machine out.
Haven't seen Greenfinch or Deeda posting recently, greetings to you and to our next meet up.
Have a peaceful weekend one and all.

Greyduster Sat 22-Dec-18 08:17:10

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Another wet start here in South Yorkshire, but I have a lot to do today so won’t worry too much about the weather. My biggest problem is going to be keeping DH out from under my feet.
I like a nice piece of gammon cooked in just the way you intend, Mick! Hope you enjoy it! Marydoll please try and find five minutes to get some rest. Have a good day folks.

Brunette10 Sat 22-Dec-18 08:18:10

Morning to everyone from a damp Fife again. DH is absolutely choked full of cold so not sure if we are going to manage family get together this afternoon. Everyone is very busy today. Marydoll so sorry to hear you haven't had good night but poor wee DGD, Thinking of all who are feeling under the weather today. For all those others hope you have a good day whatever you are up to.

harrigran Sat 22-Dec-18 08:35:04

Good morning, it is overcast and gloomy after the overnight rain.
Will pay my sister a visit this morning, I was going yesterday but when she rang to say she was home from shopping it was 5pm and there was no way I was travelling in the rush hour. I did all my shopping in just over an hour yesterday.
Tonight we are driving out into the countryside for a family meal, twelve of us.
Wishing everyone a good day.

TerriBull Sat 22-Dec-18 08:37:42

Good morning all from the south east, there's some thin sun up there somewhere. We are having gd today, so it'll be a visit to Bushy Park this morning and pm I've managed to book tickets to see the new Mary Poppins film, which I know she wants to see.

Have a good day everyone, hope it's not too frantic.

NannyJan53 Sat 22-Dec-18 08:48:51

Good Morning from a mild and damp Black Country.

Off to Powis Castle today with DD, SIL and two DGD's to see Father Christmas. They are 7 and 10 so this maybe the last time tchsmile

Still no gillybob ? I hope she is ok.

Have a lovely day everyone.

oldgaijin Sat 22-Dec-18 08:58:18

Good morning all! Have no idea what's going on in Aberdeenshire...and don't care either. Am loving the warmer climate here in Bucks and have been awake since six'ish listening to the birds...noisy wee buggers aren't they? Shall attack daughter's ironing this morning and generally make myself useful.
Hope everyone has a good day.
