I thought it was both compelling and nerve wracking watching the episode featuring an 82 year old lady who embarked on the hugely ambitious project to have a new house built attached to what had been her and her late husband's marital home for 60 years. Luckily she seemed absolutely delighted with the final result by which time she was 83. Was anyone full of admiration for her fulfilling her dream and coping with the stress involved or find it a difficult watch and wonder why she put herself through it?

I wasn't full of admiration for the amount of money her overspend cost both her and her son. I didn't really see the point of it all.

I love Grand Designs, but I've hardly watched anything since I was "forced" to get this new tv.
I'm still disgruntled

Although I do love those sort of programmes I do find them a bit formulaic. There has to be stress, bad weather and a huge overspend. At least the 84 year old didn’t find herself pregnant part way through the build which most of them do!

My favourite series has to be The Great Irish House Revival on BBC iplayer with the late Hugh Wallace ( who I absolutely loved sad. I binge watched several series of it but can’t bear to watch it now he’s gone.

Escape to the country is one of my favourites.
I love those little chocolate box cottages.
I do get cross, though, when the potential escapees keep shilly shallying around and end up not buying anywhere.

I’ve just binge watched Wales Home of the Year on iPlayer.
Some really stunning homes and locations but not all the decor was my cup of tea. 😂

I really do need to spemd more time glued to "the box", watching stuff.
I think it genuinely would cheer me up a bit.
