Is it me or is anyone else fed up with seeing pictures of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex holding onto her bump, it has been constant since day1 of the announcement.now I am not averse to seeing pregnancy bumps , in fact it can be lovely, but I truly feel it’s almost as if she is acting all the time. It is starting to really grate on me , I wish someone would tell her to stop!!!

Agree with most of the supportive posts and quite shocked at the almost vitriolic OP. I would say OP get a more fulfilling life. I’d say the red tops have won and are turning people against MM or was OP already like that. I feel v ashamed at all the negative press she is getting. unrelenting every day. I see it as I scroll down my multi news source app. My God this country is becoming more ‘ist’ on everything. We are in a hell of a mess. A new kind of stupid and open nastiness!

Merry Christmas! ?

Rather unfair to the media, there has been no critcism of her clutching her bump, they cannot be blamed if she walks across a stage doing so or on a public visit to a retirement home

ANNIEBACH. Rather shocked you don’t think the media is responsible. Who is is running the supposed rift between the brothers and Kate. Who else talking about Neghans dad. Who is taking all photos and publishing them. One of the red tips is still publishing ‘ revelation ‘ stories about Diana everyday. We really do have gutter press here !

The media film her and then publish the stills when she touches her bump. It can be for a second in ten minutes, and yes, people have checked this out. I can’t understand anyone who could be vitriolic about this. Some posters should be ashamed of their attitude towards a pregnant woman.

It may have been a long time ago, but I think I was a bump hugger too!

Anniebach Wed 19-Dec-18 11:13:29

This didn’t receive press coverage

I think there is a difference between a touch on the bump with one hand, which probably most of us have done if we feel the baby moving around or sometimes even if we just mention the baby. A difference between that, and the actual Bump Pose which is one hand cupping right underneat and the other hand placed right on top as if to measure it. This is something I believe is only done for photographers. Meghan often does the Pose version. But you know what? It's her life, she doesn't have to change what she does just cos other people don't like it. She will make her decisions and accept whatever results, like we all do.

I can remember hugging my bumps as well Hm999 it always gave me a comfort feeling.
I can't understand why many Gners are full of distaste for this girl I presume none of you know her personally so leave her and her and Prince Harry to enjoy the months running up to the birth of their baby.

knickas63 Wed 19-Dec-18 11:27:06

Bump hugging is a perfectly natural and subconcious action. Virtually all pregnant women do it. It is completely unremarkable.

starbox Wed 19-Dec-18 11:43:24

Well, if that's the worst thing she's done in all these months, we haven't got much to complain about!!

mumagain Wed 19-Dec-18 11:44:22

guess what , just did a quick search on pregnant Kate and she actually did the same during her first pregnancy but wasn't criticised. It is a protective reflex and given Megan's bad press, totally understandable when press are about also when you are pregnant you can get spasms which cause you to touch the bump.
Get over yourselves and live your own lives

Paul2706 Wed 19-Dec-18 12:15:51

It will all pale into insignificance when Brexit goes tits up and we all have greater things to worry about!!

Mycatisahacker Wed 19-Dec-18 12:19:50

Oh leave her alone

vwaves Wed 19-Dec-18 12:22:50

I do find the negativity around Megan sad. It must be so hard to know how to behave. She probably is acting. I hope the press and social media start being nice to her again. So sad that people are attracted to negative reportage. But sorry you were just talking about holding bump! I am really commenting on all the not so pleasant news gossip about her which pops up however hard I try to avoid it!!!

Kerenhappuch Wed 19-Dec-18 12:27:05

The media seem obsessed by Meghan's bump, I even saw a story online headlined 'Meghan and her bump visit X'.

I'm glad I didn't have to dress up and go and open things and give speeches when I was pregnant, I felt dreadfully sick all day for the first 5 months!

TheMaggiejane1 Wed 19-Dec-18 12:34:45

She’s an actress and she thinks this is how pregnant women should act. I too find it annoying.

NanaandGrampy Wed 19-Dec-18 12:37:02

Poor woman.

Millions of women the world over do exactly the same thing but without the worlds media firmly focussed on their every breath it doesn't make the news.

I'm not offended, hurt, fed up or annoyed by her actions .- she's just being a pregnant woman.

MissAdventure Wed 19-Dec-18 12:39:51

Plenty of pictures of Kate doing the exact same thing, Google shows.

LadyGracie Wed 19-Dec-18 12:59:54

I agree, she is over the top, I find her quite annoying, smug overload

loopyloo Wed 19-Dec-18 13:01:44

I am just glad to have a distraction from Brexit!

lilihu Wed 19-Dec-18 13:13:09

Goodness LadyGracie, what did she say to you?

lemongrove Wed 19-Dec-18 13:46:50

ReadyMeals I was going to post much the same as you did, so now I don’t have to.tchsmile
I have never, ever held my pregnant bump in that two handed way, just rested a hand on it.In fact she was doing this pose before there was much bump at all.
I think it’s part acting and part saying ‘be nice to me.’
Not that it bothers me at all.

Bathsheba Wed 19-Dec-18 13:51:44

God almighty, will you all listen to yourselves! Is there a single one amongst those criticising her who actually knows Meghan Markle? Or has even met her? No? Didn't think so.
And yet posters "find her quite annoying" and claim "she thinks this is how a pregnant woman should act" (er, you know this how?)
And, good grief, one poster is even irritated to see her "hanging onto her husband's hand". What on earth??? There is currently a thread on GN about couples holding hands, with dozens of responders happily telling how they have always been hand holders. Perfectly normal I'd say.
The media love people like you - just blindly following where they lead you grin

THAT dress yesterday...she looked as if she was nipping out to the corner shop.
Far too tight, showing her bare back when on a semi-official visit and the material straining at the seams everywhere.
As others have said, cradling her 'bump' at every opportunity, is unacceptable and not the kind of actions I expect a 'Duchess' to engage in.
IMO, I think she sends out subliminal messages via her clothes, hair and actions. She flaunts her hold over Harry by doing and wearing exactly what she wants, whether it reflects Royal protocol or not...more often the latter.
