Thanks JackyB - suppose it’s obvious that different countries would have different adverts.
I found the German advert quite interesting as a non-German as it plays on social norms, friendship in spite of differences etc.
I did realise the Albrecht brothers had been in conflict and noticed yesterday when I looked for the Kevin toys on the websites that I had to look separately for north and south.

That the two men in the advert were like chalk and cheese - in the light of your comments is also interesting. As a Christmas advert, maybe it’s an attempt to imply that it’s a time to put differences aside? ... or is that too subtle?
How fascinating. I wonder if the German press have picked up on this joint advert?

I remember the Bodach coming home with a Millenium Falcon toy in September, and I ranted and raved that it was far too early, and we couldn’t afford it that month. Come December, and there were none to be had for love or money! Oh, he was smug.

I'd love all the stores spending fortunes on Christmas videos, dreaming up things like soft toy carrots and parsnips and other Christmas ruses to get people to spend, spend, spend, to give it all to charity. Wouldn't that be a magnificent gesture?

When I was a child I remember actually making a Gonk. I didn't need it to be bought. Kevin the carrot is pretty easy to make if you have even the most basic skills ( no doubt its patented so I will just have to call it carroty. Here today and gone tomorrow. I am cooking many Kevins for lunch today.

What is it with this advert? I know it is cute and everything but it doesn't mean anything does it? it doesn't go anywhere. And whats with the parsnip?! I cant fathom it out at all. - BIG COL

Quite cute & a bit of fun. My ds & dil have given them to my grandson for a bit of fun. They also teach him about healthy eating using books like eating the rainbow &
Taste ‘n’ Tell & a few others which teach him about where food comes from. It’s a balance!
