I have a badly swollen knee. Can’t get to physiotherapist so not wanting to cut off blood supply to my leg , armed with elasticated bandage I thought google ‘ bandaging knee’ in the hope of learning to do it properly .

But I googled bondage instead of bandage !

Sorry for you painful knee Annie. Would you be able to use an ice pack on it which could help the swelling go down. Also keep your leg supported and off the floor.

Don't google ice pack though, or hot and cold compresses(goodness know what you'll find!).

Oh I’m so sorry about your knee Annie, that it is very swollen, I think you need to get the doctor or nurse to look at it. I hope someone will come out to you. It sounds as though you’ve injured it to me, do you remember doing anything or has the swelling just appeared?
Even so, you did give me a giggle.

maddy, I have been giving it some thought after your question, I think it is self inflicted, it isn’t red, inflamed, no fluid, just a very odd shape . Because I have brought on this wretched agoraphobia I am on the sofa every day, all day, head against one arm feet up on the other arm whilst I bang away on the iPad, posting here, playing games etc. The backs of my knees are sinking down towards the seat, if this makes sense, the sciatic nerve is tugging too. Very bad posture ?

AnnieflowersI hope your knee is feeling a little better and of course we believe yougrin.

Seriously though perhaps you are spending too much time sitting around. Could you do some arm chair exercises? I was going to suggest that you google some, just be really careful.

Smileless I am spending too much time sitting down, not laziness, nothing to do and better on the iPad than sitting thinking.

Google ? leg excercises ?

Thank you x

I signed a letter once “Sex to the Chief Accountant” instead of Sec to the Chief Accountant blush

My Dad once asked a female candidate whom he was interviewing "What do you think of the sex act?" - the sex discrimination act had recently been passed. He gulped as he heard his words escape from his mouth; and the girl was at a loss for words.

Hope your knee will be more comfortable soon annie.

Annodomini, your post reminds me of a food tech lesson that my self and another TA were helping out.... it was a Ready, Steady, Cook type of lesson. A few of the students (yr 9) cooked the dishes and the others had to taste them.... some of the students didn't like the food... the other TA shouted down the classroom "Don't spit, swallow!" I tried so hard to keep a straight face and unfortunately, I didn't succeed.... neither did most of the students. :D

Put some ice on your knee (a bag of frozen peas, wrapped in a tea towel will do the trick!). Might help bring the swelling down a bit.

When speaking on the 'phone to a insurance salesman just the other day, and in reply to his question about my health, I said that the only thing wrong with me was 'Post natal drip'. (Urgh) A long silence from him ... then I realised my mistake. "No, no, sorry, I mean 'post nasal drip'."

(And if anyone on here knows of a cure - herbal preferably - I'd be grateful, as stuff from doctor is useless! And quite dangerous, reading the info.)

Sorry about your knee, Annie. Can you get anyone to go with you to the physiotherapist?

Anniebach Thu 25-Oct-18 08:42:00

Lyndiloo, can’t get to the physiotherapist, have phoned three in private practice but they don’t do home visits.

Will have frozen peas delivered today with grocery order.

I need a fitness coach ?

NfkDumpling: Thanks so much for your advice. I shall act on it. Re this thread, when I was an English teacher I once leaned over a teenaged boy who had written a very short essay. " Move over, " I said, " and I'll help you to make it longer." I didn't twig what the class were laughing about until later. Derrrrr.

Just spare a thought for those who might genuinely be searching for bondage, only for 'old lady' (no offence - I am one!!) bandages to pop up. grin
