I have a badly swollen knee. Can’t get to physiotherapist so not wanting to cut off blood supply to my leg , armed with elasticated bandage I thought google ‘ bandaging knee’ in the hope of learning to do it properly .

But I googled bondage instead of bandage !

I won't be Googling "unusual cross stitches" again any time soon either Annie. That was an eye opener! who would want the Karma Sutra in cross stitch on their wall?

MawBroon Mon 22-Oct-18 20:57:57

I also heard of somebody who wanted to buy a carafe or decanter as a present and ill-advisedly Googled “Jugs”

Chewbacca Mon 22-Oct-18 21:01:44

grin Maw! The mind boggles!

PECS Mon 22-Oct-18 21:14:29

Oh dear Annie ! Things to do in Sussex brought up amazing things when a space was inadvertently placed in Sussex blush

Anniebach Mon 22-Oct-18 21:19:05

PECS, I doubt I would try googling Sus sex now ?

Maw, what does jugs mean [blushing]

I am keen on feeding the garden birds. A friend said she made her own feeders using seed, nuts and suet.

I have learnt to be more careful with my phrasing after I googled "make fat balls".

Anniebach Mon 22-Oct-18 21:31:31

melon ?

I don’t feel such a plonker now after all the posts ?

NfkDumpling Mon 22-Oct-18 21:43:14

I think it was here on GN that someone (Jings?) warned against Googling big beautiful women. Don’t!

MawBroon Mon 22-Oct-18 21:49:39

Anniebach (*)(*) blush

grandma60 Mon 22-Oct-18 22:12:37

I once googled an article in the Sussex Gazette on my work computer. I got a stern automatic email reminding me about company policy on accessing pornography.

Anniebach Mon 22-Oct-18 22:19:05

Realy Maw I didn’t know that was a name for them, now I feel a plonker again , you mucky little lady you ?

grandma60. That was embarrassing , at least no one saw my bondage googling

etheltbags1 Mon 22-Oct-18 22:31:51

I had lots of laughs reading this, a few years ago my mother was horrified to see what came when she googled 3 piece suites, she decided to go to a shop after that

annodomini Mon 22-Oct-18 23:26:50

You'd be surprised (or maybe not) at the results I got when I Googled 'toyshop'. blush

I googled Edinburgh Woollen Mill the other day and opened up a porn site! I have no idea how that happened. Many years ago my daughter and I were trying to organise a day out for hubby i.e a days sailing, or flying. We googled Virgin Experiences. You can guess what we got.

Years ago I googled Dollshouse......dumbfounded at what turned up as I had left the s out. It was mostly American.

Really need to see a doctor as sudden swelling could have a serious cause. Ring the surgery and make an appointment. When I had this it was damage to the joint following my one and only visit to a gym. Never went again lol.

Years ago when the Internet first started I was teaching a college course in using the Internet. We were discussing food so I searched for “steak and onions”. I had no idea this was a relatively common expression at the time, maybe I had had a bit of a sheltered life previously, for the Male genitals but there, large as life on a huge screen at the front of the class, almost all women returners, were the things my trousers were hiding from my students. Was my face ever blush red !

Hope your knee is feeling better today. You did give me a giggle though

pen50 Tue 23-Oct-18 10:30:08

In my case I discovered that it was better to Google door restrainers than door restraints.

Anniebach Tue 23-Oct-18 10:31:42

Had problem with the knee for ages , thank you all x

Me too! Looking for stuff to put down on the drive before surfacing it I googled hard core North Yorkshire.........couldn’t slam the Mac lid down fast enough!!!
Far too chilly in Yorkshire for that kind of behaviour. Think much more carefully now when I type!!

Legs55 Tue 23-Oct-18 10:36:19

Internet has a lot to answer for - sorry Anniebach this has made me giggle. Please get in touch with your Surgery for some human help. Hope your knee is feeling better soon without bondage flowers

Year 3 students used to study books by a significant author. One year it was Dick King Smith. BIL just stopped his son from hitting enter when he saw the first two words with no space and the last one missing!

SueDoku Tue 23-Oct-18 10:56:34

When I was still working one of my colleagues, who taught Travel and Tourism, googled 'cruising' for the lesson on boating holidays that she was planning... shock She definitely didn't use any of the results on her handout for the students...!!

A few years back, when I was Chair of an organising cttee which ran extremely large recreational gymnastic competitions, we thought it would be a good idea to get professional help to assist with the de-rigging of the apparatus in the large sports hall we used.
We asked out Events Organiser to sort out the cost for this and she came back laughing as she had (without thinking) googled 'Men for Hire'!!
So easy to do, SHE knew exactly what she meant - just google who got it wrong
