Anyone ready to start knitting royal baby jackets?

Jalima1108 Thu 18-Oct-18 14:52:01

I wish she wouldn’t wear black or navy most of the time , dreary
Every time I read something like that I look down at myself and think 'oops, should go and change' grin

Anniebach Thu 18-Oct-18 14:57:01

So sorry Jalima but that long black hair flowing over her shoulders of her black or navy dress is dreary

Jalima1108 Thu 18-Oct-18 15:01:04

I don't have long black hair - just short dark hair!

Anniebach Thu 18-Oct-18 15:06:05

best I shut up ?

Jalima1108 Thu 18-Oct-18 15:07:35

I'm going to find a red jumper to put on!

merlotgran Thu 18-Oct-18 15:18:28

She wears what suits her. I think she looks great and I'm pleased to see she doesn't seem to have been influenced by any of the outdated/weird tastes of whoever advises the other Royals on their outfits.

Kate made some mistakes in the early years but has now settled into a style that's fashionable and only occasionally borders on frumpy.

Meghan is a million miles away from frumpy.

Jalima1108 Thu 18-Oct-18 15:20:32

I think she had to wear a mac because it was RAINING

(that is in upper case because it is a long-awaited EVENT !)

Anniebach Thu 18-Oct-18 16:51:59

I don’t think black suits her , whoever advised her must think so. A black / navy dress seems strange choice for a beach , more suited to after 7.00pm and not for the beach

Jalima1108 Thu 18-Oct-18 17:23:58

ps I wasn't shouting at you anniebach btw

It's just that RAIN is a cause for celebration Down Under!

Does anyone else remember the Neville Shute book 'In The Wet'? It predicts a constitutional crisis in the UK, which puts the Queen in a perilous situation, which is resolved by the Royal Family moving to Australia and being supported by the other Commonwealth Countries.

I still have the book and was reminded of the story by the warm welcome Megan and Harry got in OZ .

Jalima1108 Fri 19-Oct-18 09:47:07

Yes, I do remember that book.

Also A Town Like Alice

Anniebach Fri 19-Oct-18 10:07:00

Jalima, rain may be a cause for celebration in Australia, not in Mid Wales ?

Australia gives every newly married Windsors a warm welcome.

I predict - with Charles slimming down the official royal list,
Harry and Megan will visit Australia, New Zealand and the countries that side of the globe (I don’t do geography), Charles and Camilla will do what monarchs do, William and Kate will do what the heir to the throne does, support more British charities and visit Canada and Europe.

Rufus2 Fri 19-Oct-18 10:12:35

I don’t think black suits her
Annie; Come on, please cheer up! She's worldly-wise and looks like she's enjoying herself wherever she is and whatever she's wearing. smile Take a look at today's TV on Bondi Beach and you couldn't wish for more colour. It was wonderful! I couldn't tear myself away! grin

Anniebach Fri 19-Oct-18 10:16:04

Rufas, I am cheerful, I just dislike black dresses worn before 7.00pm, unless for funerals

Sorry Jalima ?

seacliff Fri 19-Oct-18 10:23:59

She always wears such dark colours, or occasionally white. For me, it looks so wrong when on a beach. I got a bit hopeful when she had the lighter blue band around the bottom of one dress! Would love to see her in more colour.

And the striped black dress seemed way too long. I know she normally wears heels, and was in flats that time. She seems dressed for strolling along in New York, not Australia.

Rufus2 Fri 19-Oct-18 10:39:25

On the contrary Ruff The weather here in the NE is absolutely glorious for Autumn, bright sunshine and amazing colours
Gillybarb; You forget I'm a Mancunian (come on City!) and not a gullible tourist! I'll never forget those icy winds whipping off the North Sea. I notice you haven't mentioned the temp. or the rate of knots of the wind, i.e. the wind-chill factor. Brrr!
Btw; it was said on our TV whilst Harry was climbing the Harbour Bridge, that David and Victoria will be joining the Royals. I do hope that's right. I'd love to see VB again. My day has been made and my cup runneth over! grin OoRoo

Anniebach Fri 19-Oct-18 10:53:50

Good grief

SueDonim Fri 19-Oct-18 11:07:37

I loved Meghans navy dress! I thought the cut was gorgeous and it needed a plain fabric to show that off.

My own dil, (who comes from the same part of California as Meghan!) has very similar colouring to her and she wears a lot of black and navy, too, because it suits her.

Fennel Fri 19-Oct-18 11:41:39

Perhaps VB is coming to give Meghan advice on how to dress.
With choice from VB's own collection ?

paddyann Fri 19-Oct-18 11:42:05

Hilarious comment from a panellist on Jeremy Vine this morning.Apparently it was "so exciting to see Meghan holding an umbrella yesterday" Really?? Some people need to get a life !

Anniebach Fri 19-Oct-18 11:57:40

Sorry Sue, I realy think black is wrong for daytime , exception being office suits. And for a beach a definite no no.

Fennel, yes very Victoria Beckham . Navy, navy and more navy. So boring and so not done

Mapleleaf Fri 19-Oct-18 12:00:25

They certainly do, paddyann. ??
You have to wonder what planet they are on with some of the ludicrous comments they make!

Anniebach Fri 19-Oct-18 12:06:53

It would take than that to excite me !

Fennel Fri 19-Oct-18 12:49:51

There was a big fuss a few weeks ago because Meghan actually shut the car door herself shock.
"Woman shuts car door!"

Anniebach Fri 19-Oct-18 13:03:45

I will wait until the car breaks down and she pushes it
