Anyone ready to start knitting royal baby jackets?

Rufus2 Fri 19-Oct-18 13:53:27

I realy think black is wrong for daytime
best I shut up ?
How about "grey" as your favourite? It would coordinate well with all those wet Welsh slate roof tiles. grin And where would you find an accessible beach in N. Wales? complete with bronzed surf life-savers. More like ice-blue. grin

Anniebach Fri 19-Oct-18 14:36:22

Rufas, the main colour seen in Wales is green . Our Welsh beaches are beautiful, we don’t need bronzed surf-life savers, we have Mother Nature at her best

Fennel Fri 19-Oct-18 17:06:13

I just want to say, I think they're a lovely couple and I wish them well, and the new baby when it arrives.
But I think the media are going a bit over-the -top. Maybe to compensate for the other worrying news.

Anniebach Fri 19-Oct-18 17:16:38

I thought this was a state visit but they are there for the opening of the Invictus games

SueDonim Fri 19-Oct-18 17:18:35

Anniebach, would you like to tell my Californian born-and-raised DIL that she's been doing fashion wrong for two decades by wearing black and navy. For all I know, she may have worn those colours at school too! And black swimsuits are very popular, too, as they're very flattering.

To say black is wrong for daytime and the beach is daft!

Anniebach Fri 19-Oct-18 17:22:46

SueDonim, your DIL must think it looks great, I don’t , that simple , no laws been broken

SueDonim Fri 19-Oct-18 19:24:21

Pale pastel colours don't suit my dil at all, nor red. She looks great in darker colours, and also wears dark greens, browns and and royal or mid blues. Or white but that's not practical with two young children! grin

Jalima1108 Fri 19-Oct-18 19:29:14

Our Welsh beaches are beautiful, Yes, they are but

we don’t need bronzed surf-life savers
if I noticed one on a Welsh beach I wouldn't complain

seacliff Fri 19-Oct-18 19:30:03

Meghan was wearing some colourful flower garlands round her neck, one in pink and white. I thought it really suited her.

Jalima1108 Fri 19-Oct-18 19:31:22

Oh dear, oh dear, I did it again.
I went out in navy trousers, long navy cardigan and navy and white top.

I need someone to take me in hand.

merlotgran Fri 19-Oct-18 19:35:37

Navy's very 'in' this year Jalima. grin

SueDonim Fri 19-Oct-18 19:38:17

Tsk, tsk, Jalima! Tomorrow you must wear sky-blue pink with green dots on, to make amends. grin

Jalima1108 Fri 19-Oct-18 19:39:26

I do have some bright coral somewhere, must dig it out.

Anniebach Fri 19-Oct-18 19:41:40

Nothing wrong with navy trousers and navy and white stripped top, bet you look casual and elegant Jalima ?

seacliff i thought the colours in the garland suited her.

sue I don’t mean to be unkind about black dresses , they looked great, but the beach ! that needs casual ?, no, I don’t mean she should have worn shorts ?

Jalima1108 Fri 19-Oct-18 19:44:47

bet you look casual and elegant Jalima
As always anniebach grin
(I wish!)

casual perhaps, but I've never been elegant unfortunately.

Anniebach Fri 19-Oct-18 20:11:30

That long dress she wore on the beach today was brown with black and white stripes .

Jalima, are tall?

Mapleleaf Fri 19-Oct-18 21:08:53

It's a good thing we don't like all the same colours in clothing, isn't it? What a boring old world it would be! ?

Jalima1108 Fri 19-Oct-18 23:02:11

Anniebach, no I'm not tall
I'm quite a bit shorter than Meghan!

Rufus2 Sat 20-Oct-18 08:02:16

I'm quite a bit shorter than Meghan!
Jalima; Do you mean height - wise or bank - balance-wise? Or both? sad
How would you go against Victoria?
I've always imagined you to be tall, slim and elegant (thanks to dry Riesling), and I was always told that flattery will get me everywhere, but that must be an old wive's tale as it's never worked for me, yet! wink

Anniebach Sat 20-Oct-18 08:58:30

Rufus, haven’t noticed any Aborigines on the beaches

Rufus2 Sat 20-Oct-18 10:21:40

Rufus, haven’t noticed any Aborigines on the beaches
Annie; You don't get them in Wales. I thought you called them "Druids" grin
Wait for the Solstice!

Anniebach Sat 20-Oct-18 10:29:13

No we call people born in Wales - Welsh

Jalima1108 Sat 20-Oct-18 10:30:08

Carry on imagining me as tall, slim and elegant everyone wink

Perhaps they will meet local artist Walangari Karntawarra B.A., B.Ed. who lives in Bondi
I wonder if they will go on one of his Bondi Aboriginal Walking Tours.

annsixty Sat 20-Oct-18 19:09:03

Once again she has been in black or very dark colours for visits today.
I think this is to be her "signature" look.
Personally I think she looks like the cat that has swallowed the cream.
I know that will make me very, very unpopular, just my opinion.

muffinthemoo Sat 20-Oct-18 19:13:07

There is a theory bouncing around the internet that since she received racist abuse in the mail, she chooses to wear very dark clothing in order for her skin to appear lighter.

I think this theory is almost certainly mince, but how sad that this is considered a possibility.
