I know I wouldnt want to do the tour that H&M are doing. But it doesn't make me a Royalist. I totally get what Paddyann said. I remember getting into the office and finding my coat pockets stuffed full of clothes pegs from bringing the clothes in off the line the previous evening as soon as I got out of the car, before starting dinner. Some of us had no choice but to work full time. They are privileged indeed. No wonder they live such long lives. No pressure, no financial worries, best health care, no waiting 2 weeks for ten min appointment! nannies, holidays, housework.....I could go on.
This is why you get nasty negative remarks from some folk.

Surely we are allowed to post our opinions regardless if they are nasty negative, bitching, fawning.

My choice jalima same as their life is their choice.I was self employed so if we didn't work we didn;t eat.MY kids went to work with me from very early in their lives,my daughter was 8 days old her first day in the office.My OH did more than 8 or 10 hours a day,often not finishing until midnight or later.As I said it was our choice and I didn't ask for folk to sympathise OR look afer my kids.I'm not now either.Just showing that WORK means different things to different folk and shaking hands and smiling isn't the definaition of it I recognise

Their work is more than shaking hands and smiling , this is what we see on tv screens. I don’t believe their lives are all sunshine and roses. They are not the only family who doesn’t use the NHS, they too have problems which money cannot take away .

As I have said many times before , we are all an accident of birth, we do not choose who or what we are. At least they are a decent Royal family who carry out duties, (what ever you want to call it ) are greatly involved with charities. They have to put up with all the S- -T said about them, have their every move scrutinised, critisicised, or slavered over. My life, your lives, no one’s life will be any different if they weren’t here. I for one hope that the Royal family in their present form will continue to be an asset to the country & given the credit they deserve.

I agree with the above post, but no one is above critcism, be it one of us in our local coffee shop or the golf club dinner or the Windsors or anyone in the public eye

I overheard two ladies in M & S cafe today (estimate they were mid 60's - 70), they were very observant of all who passed by.

I think it is in our nature to observe and comment on life/people.

I would not like to be in their position, their every move is scrutinised. I really hope they are able to have some private family time when their child is here.

I've no objection to people being wealthy and having private health care if they have worked hard and not exploited anyone to get there!

Online criticism is at the root of so many young people's mental health problems. Their photos are savagely criticised, they are told they're too fat, too thin, too ugly, etc etc. They are miserable when no one gives their photos "likes".

I would be very upset if the criticism levelled at the RF on here were to be levelled at my daughter, son or grandchildren. Nobody deserves it or should have to put up with it.

I disagree with the remark "No one is above criticism". It's not a case of being "above it", but surely we can be kinder and nicer than that, not cruel and callous as many remarks in the media are.

Thank God the RF will never be reading this forum to see themselves shredded.

I agree with you about our young being so caught up with 'likes etc.' on social media, it can be so damaging on many levels.

To be honest I don’t think any of them would give a monkey’s toot what we ( or any other peasant) thought of them. They will always have the last laugh .

My granny said that too grannygravy and probably even kidded herself she practised it too . She then went on to criticise every one and everyone, not in a nasty way , just offering up her own ( very humble ) opinion on most stuff. I know she would have approved of Eugenies dress ( we shared a similar taste) but would probably say they all look like they need a damned good feed !

So it’s wrong to criticise but acceptable to accuse fellow posters of bitching? Isn’t that critcising ? Yes it is

I understand why some folk are nasty. But I personally don't think its nice.
