I mentioned her scar I in my post of 12.38 and said-

" I liked the fact she wore a dress that showed her operation scar saying she hoped it would honour those who had helped her and inspire others with the condition of scoliosis. No doubt that will be seen as virtue signalling to some but I liked the principal behind the decision."

I did like part of the service held in the nave in front of the guests before the couple went to the Quire where the families were sitting.

Just seen the highlights - Jack seems like a thoroughly nice young man and both looked just as any couple should at the outset of their marriage, totally happy!

I’m not in any way a Royalist, and tend to be disapproving with regards to the expense, etc.
On the other hand, I do love a wedding, and no matter who the bride and groom I wish them happy.
I must say that Jack seems to be a good bloke, and though quite average looking, he has the most extraordinarily winning smile!

I saw pictures and that is the loveliest wedding dress I have ever seen - nothing exposed, supremely elegant, she looked stunning.

I haven't and don't plan to watch any of the hoo-ha but I will say that having, on other occasions, heard Eugenie speak, she has the same gushy pseudo-masculine voice as her mother.
As for Jack the barman, 'Mr Distinctly Average unappealing and a tad weird looking in the way of Elon Musk. I hope they fade into the sunset...soon.

What a lovely young couple they looked so in love. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Didn't watch it as I'm as anti royalist as you can get .I did see a clip on the news though and as someone who has worked in the wedding industry for nigh 50 years I will say she was a lovely bride.Much nicer than the last royal bride or the one before.Not fussy or too much of everything like we see regularly and she looked happy.Thats something thats often missing because they get so stressed about the day .

The old joke about Windsor Castle's proximity to London airport is an echo of the comment that Edinburgh Castle shouldn't have been built so close to the railway lines!

Glad I managed to watch it before dashing off to meet friends for lunch. It was a lovely service and Jack's nervousness was endearing. I have been critical of Eugenie's dress sense in the past but today she looked absolutely stunning.

DD and DGD had a lovely day as golden ticket winners, took lots of pics and really enjoyed the experience.

I enjoyed what I saw of the wedding, that is most of it, and I thought the dress was beautiful, very elegant, and suited her perfectly. They look very much in love, and I hope they will be happy.

nankate wonder if you were married on 23rd October in 1971? We too had a wonderfully warm, sunny day and like you spent our honeymoon in our new house as funds didn't stretch to a honeymoon! I'm sure Eugenie and Jack won't have that problem! She did look beautiful by the way

Am I the only one who thinks that Jack is handsome? I thought him noticeably nice-looking.

Surely it is one MAID of honour. Bea is unmarried. I understood matron of honour to be a married woman who was a relative or friend of the bride.

I thought he was much better looking without his glasses.

How unkind to discuss whether or not Jack is handsome, we all get what we are given, he looks as if he adores Eugenie and she him, it really is what’s inside that counts.

I have just re read Great Gatsby for my Reading Group. I do think Fitzgerald was a good writer and I think it is a good book. . Great Gatsby is a book critical of ostentatious wealth,class, corruption and lack of genuine emotion it was,an odd book to choose to select a reading from. However, if it meant something to the couple I don't suppose they will care what anyone else thinks if it made them happy!

Mancgirl SNAP 23 October 1971 it was. Weren’t we lucky to have such beautiful weather? My mum asked why we had chosen October when the weather could be iffy. I said because I love the ? Autumn. It proved to be a good choice.
