Hello all, please can this be treated as a light hearted thread? smile

First to be tackled, scratchy labels in clothes, especially around the neck area!

Then, over use of the word "like", as in "so I was like really angry, but they were like, so you should like just chill"

TV advertisements for electric tooth brushes (go on, just see, almost every ad break on commercial television features one!)And

Open for your additions!

Windy weather. Just what is the point of it?

Skirts that cling to your tights.

Buses that turn up so late they pass you between stops when you’ve given up and started to walk.

Maggiemaybe Wed 22-Aug-18 09:16:46

Roadworks that nobody’s ever working on.

Pubs without drip mats.

People who pick up their dog poo then throw the bag over a wall.

This is fun. I didn’t realise I was such a miserable git. grin

Iam64 Wed 22-Aug-18 09:19:58

TV and radio presenters who pronounce the word 'create' as 'crate'. As already mentioned "he turned round and said". - as Peter Kay would say, what's that all about>

Dog walkers who see me coming with two dogs on lead and let their several off lead dogs run up to mine. The other dog walkers always shout "it's ok, they're friendly". - I'm at risk of shouting back 'mine are killers'.

NanaandGrampy Wed 22-Aug-18 09:25:57

Reality TV - the likes of TOWIE etc.

People who are famous for being...well famous... like the Kardashians.

loopyloo Wed 22-Aug-18 09:47:12

Constant murders on tv . Will be restricted to one per channel per night.

Parsley3 Wed 22-Aug-18 10:08:48

Most of the above and also people who exercise their dogs on school playing fields. I see it every day around here. Even if they do pick up the poo, are they happy to have schoolchildren playing football and rugby in grass covered in dog pee?

toscalily Wed 22-Aug-18 10:45:41

M6 motorway roadworks, endless cones and no workmen.
Water utility companies not fixing leaks
Neighbours dog shut outside to yap, yap, yap.
So many Brexit threads on Gransnet constantly repeating the same thing, over & over & over again! Just consolidate them into one.

Bathsheba Wed 22-Aug-18 10:45:44

Oh I'm 100% with you on reality TV N&G!

And on the subject of TV ads, phoenix, can we also please ban all the ambulance chaser lawyer ads, and all the money lenders. Plus ANY advert which has a man dressed in women's clothes including high heels, ugh!!! In fact, let's just completely ban Money Supermarket altogether.

Bathsheba Wed 22-Aug-18 10:46:48

and all the money lenders. - that should, of course, be all money lenders ads.

loopyloo Wed 22-Aug-18 10:51:17

And funeral plan ads.

goldengirl Wed 22-Aug-18 10:53:24

There's so much to protest about! Why don't we all revolt NOW!!! Or are we already revolting? grin

Scribbles Wed 22-Aug-18 10:54:34

One size tights (is there anyone they actually fit?)

No ad on radio or TV should be permitted to run more than once in any hour.

Junk mail. If I haven't asked for it, I don't want it.

toscalily Wed 22-Aug-18 10:57:26

Scribbles, certainly not if your 5.1 and a bit and pear shaped grin

Bathsheba Wed 22-Aug-18 11:05:33

Oh just give up wearing tights altogether - I did several years ago. Hate the flippin' things!

JessK Wed 22-Aug-18 11:18:25

Chuggers not taking no for an answer.
People who wear backpacks and don't make allowances for it so you get wacked by it.
Cyclists who don't think traffic lights apply to them

phoenix Wed 22-Aug-18 11:36:37

For foffo & Mamissimo , enjoy! wewantplates.com/

(Look at some of the ones in the sidebar on the right!)

Dolcelatte Wed 22-Aug-18 11:43:55

Yes, totally agree about the backpacks, gives me the rage, especially on the underground.

janemar Wed 22-Aug-18 11:49:15

That link from phoenix is brilliant, spent ages looking at the ones in the sidebar.

sodapop Wed 22-Aug-18 12:10:24

Love the link phoenix I just want good food well cooked and served. No annoying containers.

Grankind Wed 22-Aug-18 12:14:14

Women who look so glamorous visiting the Ladies, who use the loo and then disappear through the door without washing their hands;
parents who tolerate their child kicking the passenger seat in front for the whole journey and who say things like 'as long as he's happy' and read stories to said child in loud voices with expression rendering one's own book unreadable;
people who light bonfires when I have a line full of washing out or when I am reading a book in the garden on a sunny day;
really tiny print on labels which I can hardly read with my glasses on.

HootyMcOwlface Wed 22-Aug-18 12:22:46

OMG scratchy labels! Yes yes yes!

HootyMcOwlface Wed 22-Aug-18 12:26:16

The willy nilly use of ‘awesome’ when whatever is being described is obviously not in the least awesome.

DoraMarr Wed 22-Aug-18 12:30:03

Men. Not all men, just:
Men who walk around town with no shirts on, especially when they have huge sunburnt bellies.
Men over the age of twelve who wear baseball hats in public, especially if they are on backwards.
Men who spread their legs on the tube or the bus.
Men who think it’s funny to fart ( you know who you are)
Men who say “ you look fine” when you are about to go out and have got dressed up, but are still feeling a bit lacking in confidence ( a little more enthusiasm, please)
Men who then say, “I like what SHE’s wearing.” ( again, you know who you are.)
I could go on!

phoenix Wed 22-Aug-18 12:53:39

People being interviewed on the radio who start their reply with "absolutely" as a response to almost any question they are asked!

gillybob Wed 22-Aug-18 13:06:20

Totally agree with banning Men who walk around town with no shirts on It's gross.

I walked the children from the library through our lovely park yesterday and we spotted 3 men (all over 60/70) sitting on park benches without a top. Yuk !
