Hello all, please can this be treated as a light hearted thread? smile

First to be tackled, scratchy labels in clothes, especially around the neck area!

Then, over use of the word "like", as in "so I was like really angry, but they were like, so you should like just chill"

TV advertisements for electric tooth brushes (go on, just see, almost every ad break on commercial television features one!)And

Open for your additions!

nanaK54 Tue 21-Aug-18 21:18:32

I would ban "he/she turned round and said"
Also would like to see the end of those flippin' wooden furniture ads

Shirleyw Tue 21-Aug-18 21:32:28

Oh crisp packets, I can't abide the sound when people are eating out of a packet of crisps, I just hate the sound of the packet rustling lol....

PamelaJ1 Tue 21-Aug-18 21:33:54

Those speed signs that light up.
If you are going at 32 in a 30 zone they say slow down. BUT, if you are only going 29 they say nothing!!
Not - you are a totally amazing driver - not even thank you.
I think traffic signs should be more polite and appreciative of good driving??

phoenix Tue 21-Aug-18 21:36:26

With you all the way nanaK54 the "turned around" thing, makes me imagine people revolving, like the figures on top of the musical box at the beginning of Trumpton, or it may have Camberwick Green?

Cherrytree59 Tue 21-Aug-18 21:42:51

Phoenix can I also add candidates to try out our village stocks?.

Litter bugs
Owners who don't poop a scoop (especially in areas where children play).

I would ban packets and jars that can't be opened!

Nandalot Tue 21-Aug-18 21:43:12

We have some of the traffic things round us that say ‘Thank you’!

SueDonim Tue 21-Aug-18 21:52:28

I'd ban all forms of technology that didn't adhere to a single method of usage, so all phones would work in the same way, all computers, big or small, all household appliances would have the same buttons in the same place, all remote controls would be identical .

callgirl1 Tue 21-Aug-18 21:55:34

Men who wee down the passage at the side of our house!

sodapop Tue 21-Aug-18 21:55:54

Definitely ban overuse of the word 'like' phoenix I agree.
Ban people who turn down pages of books or otherwise deface them
Ban the phrase 'lessons will be learned '

Chewbacca Tue 21-Aug-18 21:56:24

A candidate for Cherrytrees's village stocks please:
The motorist who drives right past you, without any thanks or acknowledgement; when you actually had right of way but you've been very nice and kind and you hung back to let him through. can I throw bad eggs and rotten tomatoes at them?

Day6 Tue 21-Aug-18 22:06:29

Another here who would ban 'like' constantly used in conversations. I'd also ban leggings worn as trousers because those who tend to favour them have massive arses and thighs. If a tunic is worn over them it would be okay but there would be Leggings Wardens roaming the streets to fine those who flout this law.

I'd outlaw foul language used in public too.

Food in pubs coming to the table in an assortment of little buckets, pots and dishes all placed on the plate you are going to eat it off. What’s the point?

Mamissimo Tue 21-Aug-18 22:13:05

Adverts in the afternoon mugging you for £5 for the donkeys, to educate girls, to rescue dogs.....

Sandals with socks

Chat type help on websites

People who don’t use their indicators

Adtrackers on the Internet !

Mamissimo Tue 21-Aug-18 22:20:16

fofo ? and I want my food on a plate, not on a slate, a piece of wood or a shovel! We will bring back plates!

Anniebach Tue 21-Aug-18 22:21:17

Brochures and catalogues in the post, if I want something I will look for it, and it’s more to recycle.

Plastic wrapping around brochures and catalogues, I can’t recycle it.

Foul language

MissAdventure Tue 21-Aug-18 22:23:20

People who carry out really personal conversations on their mobiles, on crowded buses or trains.

POGS Tue 21-Aug-18 22:23:25

Bottle tops that are impossible to open , grr.

Flies , especially the little buggers that buzz you.

Solar lights that are rubbish ( why do I keep buying them [confused)

Drawer bottoms that are so weak they fall out and are impossible to fix even after trying to fix them using tacks, nails, super glue and tape.

ginny Tue 21-Aug-18 22:30:23

People who don’t know how to drive around a roundabout in the correct manner.
Feeling guilty about not wanting to go on holiday with MIL.
People speaking loudly into their mobile ‘phones in public places.
People who decide that one shouldn’t do something/ wear something/ go somewhere, watch/ listen to something just because you are a certain age.

Bathsheba Tue 21-Aug-18 22:35:42

Jars of coffee - or anything that is traditionally measured using a teaspoon - that are 50% taller than the average teaspoon so you can't reach the stuff when it's nearly empty.
Similarly, spice jars into which it is impossible to even fit a teaspoon as they are just too narrow.
And jars of sauce, cook-in-sauces etc, that have a kind of sticky out bit at the very bottom so you can't get the spoon into it to scrape every last bit out.
I'm getting very angry just thinking about these things!

Eglantine21 Tue 21-Aug-18 22:36:14

Pavement parking. Pavements are for people!

Ginny can you say more about roundabouts. I have seen so much wrong signalling on roundaboutsthat I actually checked the Highway Code to make sure that it hadn’t changed since I learnt to drive and it was me thathad got it wrong.

It hadn’t and my signalling was correct.

gillybob Tue 21-Aug-18 22:39:18

Well you can go ahead and ban me if you like.

I’m a Geordie and proud of it ! Du yu know warra mean like ?

And btw we have very polite traffic signals that say “thank you” when you travel on or below the limit. Maybe they should say Ta very much....like

Doodle Tue 21-Aug-18 22:40:17

Public toilets that won't flush
The new type of food wrapping that won't open no matter how much you try and pull the join apart
People in cars who play their music really loud with the windows open
"Alexa" when she won't turn the f**** Lights OFF ?

Chewbacca Tue 21-Aug-18 22:40:18

People who park in the disabled or parent and child bays who are neither. They usually justify this by saying "I'll only be a minute. ..."
