But where is the promised rain?

We are near Southend and have had thunder and lightning and heavy rain . Stopped now and still very warm (28°). Shame we won't see the eclipse.

We have our first rain for 2 months, just a few drops so far, but lightning too. I hope we get more tonight.

Got a downpour about an hour ago that lasted for all of 5 minutes. sad

Very heavy rain, thunder and lightning so I hope it fills the water butts and really soaks everything. Thought earlier on today that I should bring in some of the lilies and obviously I was right, wish I had! hmm

Delighted with the downpour, so refreshing, and the scents are wonderful. Gutted about the moon, but you can’t have everything.

The most amazing thunder, lightning and rain here the NE coast tonight. I stood half way outside and thoroughly enjoyed it ! All hot and calm again now though .,

My poor DD and baby girl, only in the next town have a power cut ! sad

A lot of thunder and about an hours hard rain tonight . It feels much cooler to sleep but the sky looks settled enough now to be sunny again tomorrow we shall see! All the rest of the family are on a camping trip so hope they don't get rained on all weekend. I've stayed home to look after the cats. There's no ensuite in a tent

Hour of thunder, lightning and fairly heavy rain with strong winds in Kent.
All quiet now, just the cloud blocking that moon. sad

TwiceAsNice cats are a good excuse! I like my ensuite! grin

Really brilliant lightening last night and some rain. DH says not enough and is thoroughly dejected that we did get a really good soaking. The grass is looking happier though.

The fledgling birds must have been quite frightened - they’re getting their adult feathers and have never known rain, let alone thunder and lightening.

The heavens opened here in Mid Norfolk,we even featured on the news,3 different storms battled overhead last night ,a dove nesting in the gutter had her home destroyed hope she and babies survived, short spell of heavy rain this morning ,all bright shiny and fresh for the time being, the breeze is lovely .
