All the politicians and in some cases their wives look funny. Harry looks like a hungover ragamuffin.
The royals look quite jolly.
The music was amazing.

I watched ‘Truely,Madly,Deeply’ recently on uTube, couldn’t be bothered to put the DVD on

lollee Tue 29-May-18 13:58:58

I was away the weekend of the wedding and deliberately didn't watch, however I have enjoyed catching up with the highlights. Especially the RF stifling their smiles at the preacher man! They are obviously not used to that sort of sermon.

Oh Grannybuy I'm with you. The Righteous Brothers are so good they make me shiver. Have you heard them do "You'll Never Walk Alone" ?? Oh my !!

paddyann Tue 29-May-18 15:42:50

Dont worry about me GG I'm more than capable of speaking for myself.I wont apologise to anyone because MY opinion doesn't agree with theirs .i find it very odd that folk want to watch the wedding of total starngers, different if its your own family but people you dont know ...people who neither know you exist nor care ..as long as the cash keeps flowing into their coffers decade after decade century after century...as for going back and watching one from years ago..now that truly astounds me .IF opinions aren't required on here it should say so in large type at the top of the page ...otherwise I'll have my say ..just like the royal fans do.

Jaycee5 Tue 29-May-18 16:08:26

paddyann It wasn't your opinion of the wedding that people are criticising you for. It was saying that people with no life watch it after the OP said that she did so that the comment was aimed at her.
That was unkind and rude and an apology would have been nice but that is your choice.

lollee Tue 29-May-18 16:36:33

It wasn't an opinion though, was it? It was being rude to another person making an inoffensive statement.

oldbatty Tue 29-May-18 16:52:00

Incase anybody is remotely interested I'm not a lover of the royals. Just a bit of fluff like flicking through hello magazine in the hairdressers. Lord knows I need that fluff at the momentconfused

Anniebach Tue 29-May-18 17:17:59

Oldbatty, that old fluff certaintly takes one’s mind off thing if only for a short while, keep watching and tell us what you have seen,i looked at William and Kate’s wedding even though it was ‘years ago”! Think it was only seven years ago though ?

M0nica Tue 29-May-18 17:25:52

paddyann, it is not what you say, it is the way that you say it. And somethings just aren't worth saying unless you want to be deliberately offensive. I think most of us thought your remark about those who watch royal weddings fell slap, bang in the middle of that category.

luluaugust Tue 29-May-18 17:34:56

However irrational I think the RF are not "strangers" to vast numbers of people.

Anniebach Tue 29-May-18 17:47:29

True luluaugust, one only has to remember the grieving for Diana

Jalima1108 Tue 29-May-18 17:55:52

oldbatty it's worth 'flicking through' even if just to look at the hats!!

On her 21st birthday The Queen (then Princess Elizabeth) promised to devote her whole life to our service and I think she has done that and continues to do that exceptionally well.

Barmeyoldbat Tue 29-May-18 18:08:23

I went onto tube for the first time the other day to watch Bob Dylan, Joan Biaze (mind gone dead on spelling} etc it was really lovely. Also love to watch any pomp involving the RF but missed some of the Wedding, so Utube. Sounds a good idea. Paddyann you come across as a very narrow opinuated person who doesn’t seem to mind how or think about other people and their lives.if your opinion comes across as upsetting or nasty, well that’s ok by you. Just think of other people.

Jalima1108 Tue 29-May-18 18:30:10

Anniebach I went to see Johnny Mathis in concert in London many years ago (a friend was a great fan).
He was very good but when it came to singing some of the numbers he had recorded as duets with female singers eg Dionne Warwick, Deniece Williams etc, I expected them to make a guest appearance.
However, he stuck a flower on another microphone and a disembodied voice came over to duet with him.

I was the woman in the fifth row trying not to giggle too loudly!

Jalima1108 Tue 29-May-18 18:30:33

I might go and have a look and listen on YouTube.

Anniebach Tue 29-May-18 19:23:57

I must see that Jalima , I have such an empty life ?

oldbatty Tue 29-May-18 20:25:02

since I am allowed fluff, I noticed some guests at Williams bash reappeared at Harrys. Mmmmm the years have not been kind!!

Also I was intrigued by SamCam, hatless with a sort of head band affair.

Dear old Bea and Eug, they gave me a chuckle.

Jalima1108 Tue 29-May-18 20:40:43

Yes, I would ask why, why, why? can't they get it right?
(Bea and Euge)

Anniebach Tue 29-May-18 20:56:27

Yes, I remember Sam Cam being criticised for not wearing a hat . I watched some of the marriage ceremony , got all nostalgic, we had two of the hymns at our wedding and the same gospel reading. Kate looked a little nervous , who wouldn’t, but it was so dignified , loved it.

annep Tue 29-May-18 22:37:08

Paddy ann was a bit rude about Oldbatty. That was wrong. But saying she's narrow opinionated is wrong too. I'm not a royalist ( and I'm not going to talk about it because this post isn't about are you a royalist or republican) My views are every bit as valid as anyone elses. Having said that I think Harry was definitely not like a ragamuffin. He's quite handsome.

oldbatty Tue 29-May-18 22:57:51

batty is cool with it. I hated Mama Mia..........lets see how that goes[wink shock]

Jalima1108 Tue 29-May-18 23:17:45

There's another thread about it now annep and yes, your views would be welcome.
Everyone's views are welcome although some may come across as rude or bigoted.

Perhaps Harry was just hung over at Will's wedding!
He seemed OK at his own.

Poly580 Wed 30-May-18 04:29:43

I haven’t been on here or posted for a long time and I see nothing has changed. People are still being unpleasant to each other and witch hunts follow. I had high hopes for this site being a nice chat........too much of a click and too much conflict for me.

maddy629 Wed 30-May-18 07:29:32

Paddyann why so nasty? Are you feeling miserable about something, whatever, there is no need to be so mean and nasty to somebody you nothing about. Apologise, please.

pollyperkins Wed 30-May-18 09:45:28

Of corse people can have different opinions. But theres no need to be rude or unpleasant to individuals.
