Just one of those things according to the doctor!! He was a man! After I've had a lie down and a very large stiff drink I'll be back to catch up. And i hated school milk too so it won't be that!

Good news kitty.
This happened several times in DDs pregnancies. She was monitored regularly and all was well.

Am laid up this morning with broken leg but about to get up and ready for visit from OT.

Plumber friend of DD replacing faulty shower which conked out just before I ended up in hospital. Temporary cheap one until we install new bathroom when I'm ready. Good ideas and advice so lots of browsing will keep me occupied.

Wish I had just pushed on with it a few months back!

Am aware that hip/knee replacement may be needed at some stage so I WILL be ready for that!

Do you have /or will you be going for a walk-in shower mcem?
Best decision regarding bathrooms we ever made, including having one big enough to take a shower chair for Paw when he could no longer stand in the shower. Even the grab rails are still proving useful to me!
Hope you are not in too much discomfort (i.e. pain) and coping with the sheer buggeration of it.

I have a stool in my shower and it serves me well. My bathroom is not quite large enough for all of the equipment in it at present but slowly it will be confined to the shed.

mcem when replacing your bathroom do not forget to buy a higher than usual loo. I did upstairs and down and I have never regretted it. No more perching 2" off the floor on a very low loo. It will help also if you have joints replaced later.

mcem hope your leg isn't so painful ????

I have just returned from A & E, fractured foot, torn ligaments in ankle. Now sporting a very unstylish grey orthopaedic boot. Hey Ho at least I can catch up on my reading.

Lovely poppies, soop. I'm waiting for mine to bloom but it's shaded by a big fern that has planted itself in quite the wrong place.
Survived the dentist though came home poorer. He must have given me a massive shot of anaesthetic as it's still not come back to normal after four hours. Nice young man, though. He told me all about his wedding plans!
We seem to be running an orthopaedic ward here, what with mcem and Charley and now grannygravy!

soop, I'm sorry to hear that you can't get ITV4 in Kintyre. I know my sister on the East Coast gets it - she was the one who told me what channel to go to. Never mind. Queens and Wimbledom will be on the good old Beeb.

Out for an early dinner with Husband, came out of our local Italian, didn't see 'pothole' in car park, foot went in and turned over. Fortunately Husband stopped me from falling flat on my face!!!!

Came home and elevated and iced ankle, took painkillers and tried to sleep. When I woke up (hadn't really slept) so I should say this morning foot and ankle were so swollen and bruised, got Husband to take me to our Minor Injuries Unit, Xrayed and on way to main hospital in under 11/2 hours. 1/2 hour wait for plaster technician, fitted with orthopaedic boot and back home on sofa in 3 hours.

So very impressed with our NHS in this area. So kind, caring and efficient.

Actually GG I believe that tearing ligaments is more of a buggeration.
I have no plaster, but a 6" plate screwed and bolted to my left femur. Physio is going well and every day is better. Wound healing neatly with only a light dressing.
Family and friends are rallying round and getting the message that I need to do things independently but with the proviso that I 'll ask for help when I need it.
I can only hope that all our invalids have benefited from the same level of care and support I 've had from NHS and at home.

I am everlastingly grateful to the NHS. Also our local surgery. It's possible to phone for an appointment and be seen the same day. I call that first class.

It's away I go. Care home visit in the morning. After which we have a coffee and cake treat at the Royal in Campbeltown. Then we do the weekly shop and return to our wee hoos. Simple pleasures.

Feel uncomfortable suing as it is our local. Will speak to the manager over the weekend. Fortunately I retired early, so no loss of income involved.

Some much needed news direct from the surgeon whom carried out my E.R.C.P...........and it was not just a diagnostic procedure but in fact he carried out a full therapeutic procedure which involved a Sphincterotomy, thereby hoping to avoid a further blockage in the biliary tree.
Sorry folks,probably just double dutch to many............but it is pure music to my ears.......and hopefully the last visit to that Hospital.

Good advice regarding replacing bathrooms when at a certain age especially because it is surprising how often these little additions can make such a difference to everyday simple care.
One of those things you tend not to normally think about........until you are hit with health situations that truly need certain adaptions.

The district nurse came this morning. She rang to say she was outside and could I let her in? I asked her to come around the back, but she didn`t materialise. Then the phone rang again, "you are number 54 aren`t you?", er no, we`re at 154. She eventually made it, says the dressings only need changing once a week now.
My granddaughter came to take us to the hospital for Lynne`s appointment this afternoon, only to be told on arrival that the appointment had been cancelled, they`d rung us but got no reply. The only missed call was at 1.43pm. as I was stripped off in the bathroom, getting ready to go to the hospital. Anyway, they cancelled my granddaughter`s parking charge.

Right I have caught up with everyone's news but please forgive me from replying individually as I am completely buggered jiggered. Had DD3 on the phone most of the afternoon in tears over the hospital trip and the flaming idiot. She probably feels better but I feel considerably worse. Then DD2 rang 'for a chat' - which was lovely nut not quite what I needed at the time. And, DD1 has gone on a 'Residential' as the Special Needs teacher. Today was rock climbing - she has my head for heights so I'm not sure she was the best person for the job. So long as she doesn't fall off!!

Soop's kitchen is a real haven when we need it and I needed it today. Thank you!!

Please can all the poorly people start to get better, no-one else fall over, off ladders, down holes or have any illnesses befall them - at least until tomorrow!

kittylester congratulations on your 'Ernie' win (sorry my Gran always called Premium Bonds that) . I haven't won this month but have had 3 x £25 this year so cannot complain.
