I'm on a rollercoaster

This week I have witnessed the birth of my beautiful dgd followed by a serious emergency with her mum (My dd). I've never been so frightened. Thankfully she pulled through & is doing ok. I really thought we were going to lose her ?.
Two days later I said goodbye to a very dear friend. She had been battling on for months. She was brave and stubborn and beautiful inside and out ❤. A relief that she's finally at peace but I'm so very very sad.
My heart doesn't know if it's coming or going!
I'm very lucky to have a good support of friends to see each other through the funeral when it happens and to remember her together.
Just needed to say it and have a cry in private because I'm putting on a facade of 'I'm fine' for everyone ?

flowers for you & raise a glass of wine or brew & toast both the happy memories of your dear friend & beautiful DGC, also your DD's speedy recovery. Allow yourself to grieve, it's ok to cry if that's what you need to do.

Purplepoppies - too much emotion for you all at once and the threat of losing your daughter has taken its toll - see your GP and request counselling on the NHS - this will give you a space just for you with a trained professional who will listen - you will feel better - self-care is really important - make the move - good luck

With so much in the way of shock, sadness and joy it would be unusual if you didn't feel completely battered. I hope you do see your GP for something to lift you over this time, and please do have a good sob for all the grief, joy and worry - it does let off steam and make you feel better. Tears really do have a purpose. Bless you.

If you feel you need to talk it all out with someone who will listen, without giving advice, who is impartial and there for you 24 hours a day, you can always call Samaritans, on 116 123. It is free to call. They are there even when nobody else is around.

I fully understand what it is to be on a rollercoaster of emotion, and I feel for you. Over the last two years I have had some of my happiest times and some of my saddest. My emotions are all over the place and I have cried more tears than I like to think about. I send you hugs Purplepoppies. I love a hug more than anything.

So good to hear your dd is fine now and you will be able to enjoy your dgd Losing a dear friend is very painful but keep thinking of those happy memories. She will always be in your heart. Good to hear you have supportive friends. Wishing you a very happy summer.

Goodness me, purplepoppies, what a rollercoaster of a time you are having just now. No wonder your emotions are all over the place. There’s been lots of good advice already given here which I can’t add to other than to say give yourself time and also don’t be afraid to sometimes say you don’t feel fine. Sending you flowers and best wishes.
