Good Morning !!

Its been a busy few days with the little boys spending 2 days with us at the end of their Centre Parcs trip. The weather has been glorious and we made the most of it. We celebrated Coopers 4th birthday ( he's looking for a job now he's old enough he shared with me !!)

AND he got his bunny ..... which he has named Sonic ! Its been really well handled and is quite comfortable on a small lap and seems content to sit and just be loved.

Im going to have to play catch up as you lot have been so busy.

LOVED the pictures Grannie , what a beautiful place. Its true what they say about not having to travel to the other side of the world in search of beauty.

Mila is growing so fast soop and I'm another that thinks your hair suits you beautifully.

I love the whole secret garden style Maw , our big empty plot makes me itch to get things done but we are still waiting for the plan from the designer so I think for this year we will have to settle for the small boys approval at our 'football pitch' !!

LOL had to laugh at your GSs comments Grey aren't they buggers !! But very glad you found that ice-cream oasis !

We are on the last week run up to our holiday and what was quiet has suddenly become very busy so I shall only be popping in now and again , but hope everyone has some of this lovely weather to enjoy and that all your troubles are little ones x

Just a stone's throw from me too Maw, I'm only a few minutes from the theatre. It's a lovely area to enjoy this beautiful hot sunny weather!
I love gardens with secret paths like that one, it's lovely.
I'm going to Trentham Gardens tomorrow for a day with my dd, hope my knees are up to walking round the lake!

Weather here is lovely. I'm stuck with the sketch of the two dogs. One photo is not enough to use as reference. I shall persevere. Hopefully, there will be something to show for my time in the not too distant future.

N&G Sonic (a boy, I'm guessing) is one very lucky rabbit. He has a fine young man to take good care of him. Cooper's grin never fails to make me smile out loud as Torben would say.

OMG it is so hot here- I ma not complaining because less than a week ago I had the heating on during the day.

I met a friend for lunch and then I went to M&S Food Store to pick up jars of coffee. The fridges and freezers were all working overtime it is so hot here. For once I did not need a cardigan to wear when in the store.

All of the photos are really good but I do like to see Cooper with Sonic his new best friend. The rabbit seems to be quite happy being cuddled- I only hope that the enthusiasm lasts for Cooper.

A job may well be a good idea- one cannot be too young when thinking about a pension for later life. I cannot believe that he is 4 already.

Charleyg Weather here is just right. Have taken lots of photos of the blooming garden. The leg that I damaged approx. six weeks ago (fell on to a cut down bamboo shoot) is still not fully healed. Galen What do you think?

This is a £5 wig that I tried on last evening. You gotta laff!

Quite like the wig soop but the over all effect is not unlike your own hair - which always looks lovely. In the absence of galen, I'd say get that checked. Not that I know anything at all but you can never be too careful.

N&G, I hated the blessed things when ours had rabbits but that one does actually look cute!! And, of course it's owner!!

Lona, we used to love Trentham Gardens and come from Shrewsbury, when we lived there, with the children. I hope your knees cope too!
I'm jiggered after 2 days half hearted tinkering in the garden. I would have done more, you understand, but the boys next door have had a BBQ and are playing some thumping tunes! I may as well have gone to the jazz with DH. The house next door is owned by an ex-rugby player who was the head of rugby at the local university but was head hunted by a London team. He didn't want to sell the house in case his job didn't work out - I wish he had. He has let it to some of his players - all nice chaps, mostly. His partner is a friend of DD2's (and I know her Mum!!) so they were careful to be good neighbours!! They obviously didn't pass the message on!!

soop, that wound still looks ugly. If it hasn't healed yet, it's time - and far too late - to go to the nurse and see what you should have done weeks ago. Sorry to sound censorious, but it's been rubbed into me that it's important to keep an eye on scratches and cuts at my age. It's so easy for nasty infections to set in.

Soop, that wig, like Kitty says, isn`t much different to your on hair, which suits you very well, it doesn`t need changing.

soop I agree with anno . I think you need antibiotics for that wound. Please do not forget that you have to look after your total hip replacement, it must not become infected.

I am a bit busy this week or I would be up on the next train dragging you to the surgery. That wound is looking much worse. Trust this to happen over a BH and I do not suppose that you can get treatment until Tuesday. I do not want to nag but I will if I have to!!!

Please tell whoever does see that wound that you have a THR because that can change the management- it needs treating- not just a dressing applied. End of sermon.

What an amazing weekend this is proving for many of us.
I walked up Alderley Edge this morning and marvelled at the views!
If I lived there I’d have Hattie out there every day.
In Birmingham now with DD and family. Unfortunately I seem to have a problem, either gastric or muscular - stabbing pains in my left side at the bottom of my ribs.
It was so bad for a bit last night I thought I was going to end up in A&E but paracetamol, ibuprofen, Gaviscon and a double dose of herbal Nytol got me to sleep and by this morning it had gone.
Fine until I attempted to drink a glass of white wine this evening when it all kicked off again so I am staying off any alcohol, drinking turmeric and ginger tea, and it has eased again.
I think I do need to see a Dr in case it is an ulcer or similar

Hope to read through recent posts properly when I am home again, in the meantime, love to all.

Maw - that pain sounds grim. I hope you can see a doc soon. TBH it sounds awfully like the problems that I get - hope they can find something to improve life.

And soop that leg looks bad - it is a problem as we age that legs do not heal so well - particularly from the knee down. I think it should be looked at by the practice nurse at the very least. Do not delay further!

Soop you really do not want an ulcer. DH has one which started small but is now 18 months old and is quite large. Go to your GP!!

Maw seek advice asap and avoid alcohol.

Hoping you get help from your doctor soon, Maw.
And stay off the Ibuprofen! It's one of the main causes of gastric ulcers.
Which is what I was told when I had some tests last year. I have a small one - they can usually be treated effectively with medication.

maw I do hope you had a more comfortable night with no recurrence of that pain which sounded nasty. Although it can be difficult to be unwell when away from home, I’m glad you weren’t on your own.

soop my arm that I did at about the same time looks the same. So long as it’s not hot and sore, leave well alone. Keep open to the air if possible. I’ve left my dressing off for the last two days and it’s scabbed beautifully

maw leave iboprofen and it’s like well alone! You might as well have a pneumatic drill in your stomach!

Maw your pain sounds very like my gastritis flare ups which start with a dull ache under my right ribs and gradually increase to agonising pain. I take Gaviscon Advance liquid and ranitidine 150mcg when it starts and after about an hour the pain eases. The flare ups do occur every couple of weeks and I don't know what triggers them. I take 20mg omeprazole every day but do not think it is working.

I was told not to have any alcohol, acidic or spicy foods and have not had a drink since this started in November 2016. I also must not have ibuprofen or aspirin and have to rely on paracetmol.

I would visit your GP for further investigations. Good luck - it is not a pleasant thing to cope with.

Maw, I seem to remember a previous flare-up, so perhaps it's time for further investigation. And I echo the advice to knock off the ibuprofen. I was told to avoid it at all costs when reflux was diagnosed. It makes life difficult as opiods don't like me.
It was a lovely weekend for enjoying Cheshire. I haven't been to Alderley Edge for ages, but am thinking about going to Hare Hill which is near there. It's a NT property specialising in rhododendrons and azaleas - not a stately home, just a garden. Lovely.

A tad dismayed to hear that Maw is experiencing a nasty flare-up. Hasten to see your GP once the surgery is back to normal routine.

Good afternoon, the kitchen. A fairly lazy day here, but the family are descending on us later for a barbecue, so some steady prep to do. It is very quiet in the garden - just me and the twittering birdies, and two sparrow hawks circling overhead calling to each other.
Maw I agree - ibuprofen and other NISAIDs are an absolute no-no. There are times when I would love to be able to take it but I have stomach problems so can’t. I have been taking Ranitidine for ages. Mostly it works but sometimes it doesn’t. As others have suggested, seek medical help.
N&G love the photo of Cooper and Sonic. My GS has never had the slightest interest in small animals but the other day I watched him sitting on the pavement playing with his neighbour’s cat. DD said she’d never seen him do that before. He was too young to remember their two cats.
Gq the venues in the photos you posted looked deliciously cool. Beside water is the place to be in the sort of heat we are having now - not frying on some rocky gritstone escarpment, no matter how spectacular it may be! For those who commended me for my stamina, it was only six miles, at the end of which I was on my knees, I’m ashamed to say. Keeping up with the youngsters is not as easy as it was, and they don’t bloody wait for you either! DD tells me pushing myself is good for me ! I think she’s trying to polish me off!
Soop the leg looks better, but still not better enough to me - maybe get it looked at? And you are never EVER boring! I wish I had your cheerful nature and half your talent.
I had a call from my son yesterday. He was on one of a couple of annual visits he makes to his first wife’s grave to tidy up and place flowers and he found someone had taken the flower holder. He was, to say the least, put out about it - it has been there a good number of years now and remained untouched and then it disappears. He lives a good hour’s drive away so can’t be around to keep a regular eye on things and he did at least manage to find something in the village to serve as a replacement so that he could leave his flowers, but I remember him buying the first one - it was made out of stone and should have lasted indefinitely. No legislating for these sorts of things though I suppose, even in a small country churchyard.
Well I had better go and make food related plans or I am bound to forget something. Hope the afternoon is a pleasant one for all.
