What irritates you about other Gransnetters?

I'm not feeling irritated at all today! Some days I could pick an online fight with loads of people but maybe not on Gransnet!

I get irritated too by lengthy posts without the use of paragraphs. Don't wish to be a grammar nazi, but sometimes poor punctuation and ambiguous meanings get me exhausted trying to work out what the OP is saying, I also loathe the word 'hubby' and I am afraid that I generally ignore the post if that word is used. . Generally feel a bit saddened by the number of women on GN who live their lives for/through/only for their grandchildren. Apologies if I offend anyone, that is not my intent, just an observation.

anno please could you pop round and set my scanner up please? It's been set up by a friend who is 'an expert', went again, then I did it and it was fine, now the printer is working but the scanner isn't!! DH doesn't have a clue what's wrong. I am ready to throw it through the window.

I agree about the lack of paragraphs - sometimes a new poster writes an extremely long OP and I lose the will to read it part way through.

I don't mind poor grammar or mis-spellings. Some folk have not had the benefit of a good education and that is not their fault - as long as I can understand it then that is fine by me.

I'm cross just reading this thread!! From a couple of responses I find that apparently I'm stuck in a victorian time warp and rely on men. That's absolute b******s! I'm fed up with GNers who don't think how their posts make others feel.

It really does depend on my mood, some days my tolerance levels are lower than others. I must admit to getting slightly frustrated when posters say they can’t comment ‘without knowing both sides’. The very nature of the forum means that we will only ever hear the OP’s point of view. I can understand urging the OP to consider the other side, but declining to offer advice for that reason seems such a pointless comment.

I agree with Jane10. Some people have no flipping awareness at all.

Rudeness/aggressiveness/ belittling posts that are claimed to be "straight talking; the truth" etc etc!!! One can be straight talking and five honest opinions that might be hard for the OP, without any of the above! Apart from anything else, now of the above help to get a point over!!

GillT- I blame all my grammar and punctuation inaccuracies on predictive text. I couldn’t even spell Nina correctly earlier!

jalima, it sounds as if through the window would be the best solution to your scanner problem!

I like paragraphs too. And spellings, but I’m just as guilty now and then. I’ve stopped feeling ignored when someone repeats my comments and gets mentioned for the point. But I hate it when I start a thread and someone comes along and drags my thread into another direction. It happens occasionally and I’ve usually failed to get it back on track. So annoying!

Hear, hear Jane10! I'm gobsmacked at being described as a helpless woman dependent on a man when I thought I was just contributing to a light-hearted thread.

And I was in a good mood till I read those comments!

Jalima, I guess you've tried switching it off and back on again?

I've tried everything Maggiemaybe, deleting it and reinstalling - the printer works perfectly (fingers crossed) but the scanner has decided it doesn't recognise my pc.

Nothing irritates me, really, just some of the posts!! None of it really matters in RL, does it?

But, if some who seemed to be nice posts something that shocks me then that makes me do a double-take.

We had the same with an HP printer, tried everything, updating drivers, uninstalling, re-installing and taking it off the network. Ditched it in the end, as it would only print.

Perhaps some grans find idiots like me, who post on the wrong thread, annoying. However, I have tried to use correct punctuation.
