Which extra room would you like in your house?

Hey grandtante....don’t bother with air beds get yourselves a sofa bed with spring/mattress NOT foam ( they’re rubbish). I’ve had one for 30 years...it’s brilliant and as far as I’m concerned THE most comfortable bed in the house ...as all our beds are divans and I don’t think they’re anywhere near as good as spring/mattress.Just had it recovered and it cost us more than the original price but worth every penny !

A second bedroom for all my junk everything which has to be stored in my bedroom (except clothes). I can only have a single bed (you can tell there is no man in my life) as I needed a wardrobe, dressing table, chest of drawers & bedside cabinet (as well as the bed).

I have a lovely lounge/diner, wet room & neat small kitchen, I cannot extend as I live in Park Home so I need a greenhouse (for tumble dryer, I have a washer/dryer in kitchen as no space for separate ones) & new shed so I can have another freezer to take the overflow from my fridge/freezer.

It will happen but I need to save hard, must learn to stay at home instead of gallivanting

Without a doubt for me it is a "library"'. Hoping and planning to build an extension to have one glorious sun filled room to house all the hundreds and hundreds of books currently located all over the house. Comfy chairs and a sofa, lots of bookshelves, a few beautiful old rugs rescued from other family houses, strategically placed reading lights. Absolute bliss.

I would love to extend the patio doors in the "dining room" to beecome an all-season conservatory - to have light and warmth all through the year would be wonderful.
I don't have a utility room and don't miss it; we have 3 loos up/downstairs, ditto bathrooms, so don't need more. Garden is tiny, but big enough, so conservatory would be perfect!

I feel a bit ungrateful saying - a bigger utility room with a proper height ceiling so I could have a pulley, it’s really the only thing I miss since downsizing.

I'd love a conservatory where I could watch the birds feeding in comfort instead of having to stand looking out the window by the kitchen sink.

If needed which in my present house I don't but one extra I feel essential would be another bathroom.Nothing worse than wanting the loo but having to wait until someone has finished their shower or bath.

Our small home stops us from keeping too much junk.

But my wife would like a sewing room and I’d like a second garage.

I've always wanted a conservatory. Only my kitchen and loo (and one upstairs bedroom and bathroom) overlooks my lovely, large and private back garden so I would love a warm room to sit in and enjoy the view. My house is east/west (front) facing so it wouldn't be ridiculously hot as a south facing conservatory would.

I would also love a utility room tagged on to it so the cat can have her own entrance cat flap and somewhere warm to sleep when I'm out and I don't have to have dirty feeding bowls and cat food all over the floor in the kitchen! As well a place to store dirty washing /boots/grandkids' scooters etc.

I live on a narrow boat. Wish I had a cruiser stern rather than traditional. A cruiser stern is big enough for a cover to put over so forming an extra room....

In my last house I had a conservatory, a garage and the tiniest utility room ever.
Since downsizing I miss all three but most of all I hanker after the conservatory. However, I fear that putting one by the patio doors (no other windows) would make my south facing lounge darker.

I had my walk-in pantry taken out to enlarge the utility room when we moved in 24 years ago - I would have liked both looking back.

I would love an old fashioned pantry, we make jams, chutneys, and marmalade from our allotment and never have anyway to store the jars. Want the whole hog, shelves lined with paper bunting etc, just like Downton Abbey! Dream on girl!

A sewing room please. Not that I have a lot of fabric or equipment, it's that my house is so small I have to put everything away each day or the room looks messy.

I would like a small conservatory on the back of my kitchen just for me to spend time in the winter watching the birds in my garden and soaking up the rays even though they are not very strong in winter time .

Another bedroom . This is a two bedroom council house, but I have my son and granddaughter living here, and it is practical for me to sleep in the living room because of different reasons, but I do wish I had a bedroom. Also I wish there was more storage room, there isn't enough in here.

A larger lounge with at least one wall long enough to put a 3 seater sofa against. My lounge was designed by a Muppet!!!

A cosy little sitting room for me so I could have my own space and have friends round.

Yes Cherry Tree! A hobby room! My art/hobbies/sewing etc. need so much storage and space and when in progress look so messy, yet take a long time to keep putting away and getting out again. It would be heaven to just go into a work room where I could be busy doing all my creative things and then, if someone called, I could take them to a different room. I'm disabled so all my craft stuff is essential to me, to stop me going bonkers.
P.S. the spell checker changed my mistyped "hobby" to "holy room"! That might be lovely too!

I am fortunate (I know). In my current house in which I live by myself I have a small Utility room off the kitchen, holds the washing machine and tumble dryer and the freezer. Also have a small downstairs loo. My retirement present to myself was to have a very tiny en-suite (toilet, basin and shower unit), fitted under the stairs which go up to the loft room. Still have bath in my bathroom.
So, I am going to be totally greedy in what I would like and that is a small, swimming pool. Then I could have a pleasant swim most days before getting showered and dressed.

I would love an extra lounge that was immaculately tidy and kept itself spotless. When an unexpected visitor arrived I could lead them in there. Instead I am baking, flour all over work surfaces, kitchen door needs a clean and door bell rings.

We have made our conservatory which is L shaped with home gym in one half more usable by having under floor heating installed and now use in winter too to sit and have coffee in warm whilst looking out at garden, birds and even odd squirrel. We never used it during winter months before except for rowing machine and exercise bike.
