You will be fed up of me and my woes.

Bad night, abusive text in night from elder daughter.

Awake for hours because of on going tummy problem.

Woke at seven and my beloved West Highland Terrier , Honeysuckle Rose, is lying right next to my bed, she is dead .

I am not ready for the vet to take her away yet so am lying here talking to her as I do every morning.

I am devastated but it's the price we pay

Annie

So sorry Annie flowers

Bambam Fri 20-Oct-17 11:56:04

Oh Annie, my heart goes out to you, bless your dear little "girl".
If you can take any comfort at all at this moment, she was lying peacefully and happily next to the person who she loved most in all the World. flowersbrew

Moocow Fri 20-Oct-17 12:02:17

So sorry to read. Have you anyone in RL who can be with you? Or Maybe talk over the phone in a bit?

Christinefrance Fri 20-Oct-17 12:21:19

So sorry Annie your little Honeysuckle Rose must have been such a comfort to you. At least she died peacefully with you at her side, I sympathise with you as a fellow dog lover. Take time to grieve as our pets are just as much part of our family as our relatives and often love us more.
Turn off your phone at night as someone said.

Annie what a sad day. Have you texted your daughter to tell her about the death of your much loved dog? It might give her the opportunity to sympathise and be kinder to you. Sometimes sad events do bring families closer.

Charleygirl Fri 20-Oct-17 14:00:08

So sorry, a lovely way for the dog to go but heart breaking for you. Will your daughter have any sympathy for you? flowers

Chewbacca Fri 20-Oct-17 14:04:09

Oh Anniebach I'm so very sorry to hear this. You've got more than enough troubles and I understand how upsetting losing Honeysuckle Rose is for you. Wish I could help. flowers

NannaM Fri 20-Oct-17 14:16:50

Dear Annie, I am so sorry for your loss, and your double heartache. One thing at a time. Mourn your darling furry companion. Give yourself a little time to honour the place she had in your life. Many virtual hugs.

downtoearth Fri 20-Oct-17 14:19:02

Oh Annie so sorry to hear about your awful shock this morning [[[ ]]] hugs for yousad

mumofmadboys Fri 20-Oct-17 14:47:03

At least your dog was with you when she died. If she had yelped you would have heard. Perhaps your daughter texted under the influence of alcohol. Try not to dwell on the text. Thinking of you.xx

hildajenniJ Fri 20-Oct-17 15:30:31

Oh Annie, I'm so sorry. Our pets have a special place in our hearts. You have the consolation of knowing she wasn't in pain or distress, and passed peacefully.
Try not to upset yourself about the text, in the middle of the night though processes go awry. I understand difficult relationships. As others have said, turn your phone off during the night.
Be kind to yourself. ??

lemongrove Fri 20-Oct-17 15:42:06

How awful Annie so sorry this has happened, especially with you being so unwell.Even when prepared for a pet’s death, it’s still a dreadful time when it happens.?

callgirl1 Fri 20-Oct-17 17:21:06

Annie, I was so sorry to read about your dear Honeysuckle Rose, but console yourself with the fact that she didn`t suffer, and chose to be with you at the end. Best wishes.

Menopaws Fri 20-Oct-17 17:36:45

She was next to you when she died and I guess didn't suffer as you would have heard her, take comfort from that, she was obv a much loved, cared for and happy girl

Nelliemoser Fri 20-Oct-17 17:47:17

Anniebach I am so sorry to hear that. Lots of ((((hugs))))
You really do have so many troubles thrown at you. flowers

Nandalot Fri 20-Oct-17 18:24:43

So sorry to hear about your sad loss and your other trials. As others have said it was a lovely peaceful way for her to go though that doesn’t make it any easier. Best wishes flowers

Anniebach Fri 20-Oct-17 18:29:22

How kind you all are. It was an awful shock, it was to here I came .

The vet thinks she went in her sleep, no urine, poo, vomit, she was in her usual sleeping position. She didn't cry or whimper I would have heard , she was right next to me , oh how I will miss her.

Lottie my little terrier is so lost, she has never had to think for herself, went into garden when Hun went, came in or stayed out until Hun decided. Upsetting when Lottie goes into bedroom, she goes straight to where Honey lay when she died.

She was my eleventh dog, I have eight little urns in the house, will be nine next week, beginning to think there will be no room in the grave for me.!

The text devastated me, I have many abusive texts but this one accused me of making her fathers last hours on earth miserable, as some will know, refusing to speak to him that night has haunted me for forty one years,

Well what has happened cannot be changed , I must get myself together. I am so thankful I had my Honeysuckle Rose for nearly eleven years. Am scared only having Lottie, if I was to lose her I would be without a dog first time in so many years, this does frightened me, use to having two or three around the house. Must not think about it.

Sorry I loaded it all on here this morning, younger daughter and husband were still in .Brussels, the came home this afternoon.

Thank you all for your kindness , it means a lot.

Annie x
