Well, I went to have a good old moan in the 'anyone awake' thread, and found it has been closed. So, here is a new one.
I'm awake, I have a headache, I'm at work, so can't go prowling around, and I know tomorrow is going to be a terrible day.

MawBroon Mon 16-Oct-17 05:05:47

Which she has just done !!! ?

cornergran Mon 16-Oct-17 05:22:03

Morning to you all. Woke at at 2.30 and again at 4.30 and suspect that's it. ann, you are so right, worrying about children never stops. Hope there is positive news about your daughter today. annie I'm sorry you have more family worries on top of your health issues. Lack of sleep makes everything harder. mawb another one here wondering how long you can continue to manage. I know you will because you have to, there must be a cost to you. I guess we all manage with disturbed nights, nice to do more than manage though. Hope you've all nodded off now.

Sorry so many of you were kept awake by worries - been there lately, but DS1 is very much better and stayed with me from Saturday - Sunday. My sleep is just all over because of new job - I get physically tired and end up asleep by about 8:30, then awake around 2. Not so bad if I can get back to sleep again, which I did manage this time around, albeit on the settee. Woeking until 9-9:45 for 5 out of the next 6 evenings ... that will be interesting!!! I hope today is a gentle one for you.xx

Another one to join you. Went to bed at 11 knowing full well I wouldn't sleep. Just eaten banana and custard. Why? confused. Eyes feel as if they've been rubbed in sand and I lie here tossing n turning, huffing n puffing to no avail. Why is it I can sleep the sleep of the gods at the drop of a hat at 5 in the afternoon but not at bedtime.. my worries are nothing compared to yours. I'm just moving house next week after a protracted period of negotiation. First time I've done anything like this on my own and I've done more worrying in a year than in my whole life! Anyway, I hope you are all snoring away in blissful sleep; I seem to be on my own here .........?

MesMopTop Tue 17-Oct-17 03:35:09

Hope you're asleep now too, Marmight. Good luck with the move and make sure you have a box wells eked with the kettle, teapot, tin opener, toilet rolls, light bulbs, soap, hand towel, tea towel, mugs, plate, knife and fork, salt and tea/coffee/sugar and powdered milk. Moving is a nightmare, no wonder you can't sleep!

Tried not to look at iPad so been tossing and turning, didn't work.

ninathenana Tue 17-Oct-17 05:41:39

Had a rude awakening a few minutes ago with cramp in my toes. I've come down stairs to walk it off and not disturb H.

ninathenana Tue 17-Oct-17 05:49:58

I hope your all sleeping now.

Anniebach Wed 18-Oct-17 03:29:37

3pm again, no one around

morethan2 Wed 18-Oct-17 03:40:02

I’m awake, but this time it’s self inflicted. I went out with my old colleagues. Drinking and eating (mainly eating) late always makes sleeping difficult. So I’m not going to moan about it. Well maybe just a little moan. That used to happen to me when I was working imperfect it’s a big no no. Better to nod off for ten minutes after your meal. Even now I daren't go to bed before 10.30 or I’ll ping awake at some ungodly hour, bit like eating late has done now. Hope the rest of you are fast asleep ? Tommorow I’m going to buy some earphones so I can listen to something soothing or boring to help me get back to sleep without disturbing snoring husband.

Nana3 Thu 19-Oct-17 03:31:28

Know absolutely that I won't get back to sleep, hope I'm wrong. Going to read for a bit.

Anniebach Thu 19-Oct-17 04:11:53

So tired, sick of feeling sick 3.30 this time

Nana3 Thu 19-Oct-17 05:03:19

Hello Annie, how are you now? Feeling better I hope. I have a cup of tea on the go, resisting a biscuit.

Anniebach Fri 20-Oct-17 03:12:32

3am , no one around, that's good if all are asleep

Marmight Fri 20-Oct-17 05:18:17

Hope you got back to sleep Annie. I've been twiddling my thumbs since 3 but avoided the dreaded phone until now. Read for a bit and ate a banana. Guess my day started earlier than normal......I hate going back to sleep at this time. I wake up feeling hungover and spaced out [yawn]

Nana3 Fri 20-Oct-17 05:37:33

Hello Marmite I hope your move goes well next week.
I will read for a bit, then run a bath, but really I would love to go back to sleep.

cornergran Sat 21-Oct-17 06:35:33

been awake since just after 4am, goodness knows why. Not in pain and not consciously worrying. Pretty fed up as a lot of driving to do today and it would help to be energised. Hope everyone else has slept well.

Gagagran Sat 21-Oct-17 06:45:07

Up at 5 after trying to go back to sleep from 4. I try to just go with it as stressing doesn't help - in fact probably makes it worse. I quite like the peace and quiet of the very early morning but don't like the gritty eyes and exhaustion waiting for me later.

Go safely driving corner - you may need extra vigilance if the weather forecasters have got it right.

Anniebach Sun 22-Oct-17 03:55:37

Woke yet again 3.30. Having a cup of tea , doesn't solve the problem but it's comforting.

Izzywizzy Sun 22-Oct-17 04:06:48

You're not alone Anniebach . I woke with dreadful back pain so I'm standing and swaying and drinking my tea. I think I'm coming down with something as I feel quite unwell. On here to distract myself from pain ?

Nana3 Sun 22-Oct-17 05:57:48

I can't believe it's nearly 6, I expected it to be 3. I hope everyone else had a better night too.
How is your back Izzy ?

Nana3 Sun 22-Oct-17 06:01:43

Annie. Just realised your post was at 3:30 today, I hope you managed some rest after your cuppa.

annsixty Sun 22-Oct-17 06:11:44

Like you Nana I have had a better night.
I woke several times but managed to doze off again.
Wide awake now, it is so windy but can't hear the rain lashing down as it seemed to be doing each time I woke up.
Commiserations Annie your worries are magnified in those "wee small hours".

Nana3 Sun 22-Oct-17 06:19:49

Glad to hear you had a better night ann, will you stay in bed? I will for a bit as DGS is here and I don't want to wake him.

annsixty Sun 22-Oct-17 06:36:13

Oh yes, I don't go downstairs before 8am or later if I can get away with it.
My H will start his thousand question a day routine and I put that off as long as I can.
