Well, I went to have a good old moan in the 'anyone awake' thread, and found it has been closed. So, here is a new one.
I'm awake, I have a headache, I'm at work, so can't go prowling around, and I know tomorrow is going to be a terrible day.

loopyloo Fri 13-Oct-17 08:02:18

Mawbroon
Could you possibly ask for some respite care? Or a someone to do one night a week so you can sleep?. If you don't ask you won't get . Really feel for you.

MawBroon Fri 13-Oct-17 08:08:26

This is not usual, but thank you for the thought smile poor man has dreadful bleeding haemorrhoids (sp?) and I suspect the pressure is “telling”him he needs to go even there is very little.
The other problem with his catheter hurting seems to be the beginnings of an infection which, thankfully, was spotted in time and an a/b prescribed at the “Urgent Care Centre”(huh! What looked like the entire population of Milton Keynes and only 2 doctors and 3 nurses on! ) But that is another story.
Sorry to be so self obsessed - I haven’t expressed any sympathy for the rest of you - especially with responsibilities or journeys today flowers

Maw you must be exhausted. I don't know what to say. I hope that today goes well for your dear husband. It must be so distressing for you both. Hope everyone's else's day isn't too awful after your sleepless nights. I am going to look for the you tube recommended by NanKate so hopefully I may get some better sleep.

Newquay Fri 13-Oct-17 09:07:23

Oh boy-my heart goes out to you all esp health problems. I regularly don't sleep well but nothing like the health/worrying that some of you endure.
I just had a look at the you tube, haven't come across the one you recommended just yet. Someone Starkey (?) going on about balancing chakras and your spiritual guides-the last thing I need in the middle of the night is hocum!
Hate to be preachy but we are TOLD in the good book Do not be anxious. After all it doesn't change anything does it? Just makes you feel worse. Find something you find positive/uplifting and read/watch that instead.

Horrible, disturbed night again. The usual waking, awful, complicated dreams, and needing to wee every hour or so. Ugh!

Chewbacca Sat 14-Oct-17 03:06:42

Anyone else awake?

MawBroon Sat 14-Oct-17 03:15:06

Made it through to 3 which compared to last night is a luxury.
A few hours to go though. ? ?

Chewbacca Sat 14-Oct-17 03:24:07

Awful isn't it Maw? It feels as though the night will never end and you just long for sleep.

Anniebach Sat 14-Oct-17 03:33:27

3.am again, so tired want to cry , long for a nights sleep but this wretched digestive problem makes a full nights sleep Impossible.

Chewbacca Sat 14-Oct-17 03:39:11

You too Annie? I've not even been to sleep yet, and now I feel as though I've gone beyond it. Read, listened to the radio, made a cup of tea but sleep just eludes me. I'm sorry you're in pain Annie; that makes a long sleepless night even worse.

Anniebach Sat 14-Oct-17 05:34:09

Hope everyone is sleeping now , nights are so long .

Am thinking I may stop coming to bed, sleep on sofa

Imperfect27 Sat 14-Oct-17 06:02:09

Well, I hope it s a relatively ' good morning.' Awake at 4:40, but then I was dozing at 8:30 last night and went to bed at 9:30 so I think I caught up a little!

I am getting used to new working hours and find myself most busy at odd times of the day. Weekend off now, which is very welcome.

I hope it has been a kind night to you all.

Marydoll Sat 14-Oct-17 07:09:53

Good morning again Imperfect
Glad the job is going well.
Blasted update on PC woke me up at 3.30, as it started to reboot. It did the same an hour later.
Been awake since then. Can't even lie in due to family commitments.
Hope all you the regulars have had a better night.

Chewbacca Sat 14-Oct-17 07:35:05

Dreadful night for so many.

NanKate Sat 14-Oct-17 07:36:03

For all of you interested in trying a meditation session I realise I inadvertently did not give you the full info, typical of me, sorry.

Type into your search engine YouTubemusic (I'd left the music bit off). Then when on that website go to the Search box and type in The Honest Guys then with a bit of luck you will get the choice of a lot of meditations, some especially for insomnia, stress etc. There are other people's meditations too. If you don't want to hear words you could opt for sounds of nature, sea lapping on the shore etc.

You may need to persevere if it doesn't work first time. What I find is that it takes my mind off my worries and helps me concentrate on other other thoughts and my breathing.

Best of luck folks, hope it helps.

MawBroon Sat 14-Oct-17 09:21:29

Better night - 3, 6 ish and 8 grin Feeling positively refreshed.
Poor Paw has a UTI which hasn’t been helping plus a poorly derrière from the dreaded bleeding haemorrhoids.
However the Dr prescribed a cream, he is on a/b’s and the District Nurse changed his catheter - BTW does everybody who is involved with catheter care know they need to be changed within 24 hours of a UTI?
I didn’t. Nobody told us either at Urgent Care or when I rang the GP. Fortunately I also wanted advice from the DN.
Learning curve.

Morning campers!
Awake at 1:50 and then from 3:45, courtesy of cat (!) today.

Second of two busy family days -cross that I can't sleep as I have so much to do today, sigh.

I hope people generally had a better night than Fri-Saturday xx

Sending greetings from sunny cyprus , warm, relaxing, waited on, doing so little but still i toss in my giant bed. We could fit at least amother couple plus 4 kids in if they tucked themselves in at the far end. Last night i took half a sleeping pill so did get a few hours.
Out on the sunny balcony now with a cuppa. Am not complaining. Its beautiful and wishing you all a beautiful day.

Imperfect27 Sun 15-Oct-17 06:32:41

Sounds wonderful silver, enjoy.

Imperfect27 Mon 16-Oct-17 03:34:03

Tch ...Here we are again ...

Anniebach Mon 16-Oct-17 03:41:38

3.30 so here I go again, hello to all x

MawBroon Mon 16-Oct-17 04:13:49

I thought I had done reasonably well to make it through to 3, but then was up again just before 4 ?
I hope a change of a/b sorts out DH’s insides, this is beyond a joke.
Sympathies those tossing and turning because of family worries, if it’s cats or dogs, I know how you feel - just steeling myself for Hattie to get in on the act..

annsixty Mon 16-Oct-17 04:20:08

Another one here.
So worried about my D who is in hospital and I can't be there.
Hope ab's sort her out.
Middle of the night isn't helping as we all know.

Anniebach Mon 16-Oct-17 04:45:55

Longing to sleep, sorry about your daughter Ann.

I had text last night from elder daughter saying she was moving, she wouldn't say where and wouldn't answer phone, she can't move, nowhere to go.

I had have enough of all this

annsixty Mon 16-Oct-17 04:58:24

So sorry Annie, you have had such worries with your own daughter.
It never ends does it?
And we never stop worrying, it is in the job description.
