Well, I went to have a good old moan in the 'anyone awake' thread, and found it has been closed. So, here is a new one.
I'm awake, I have a headache, I'm at work, so can't go prowling around, and I know tomorrow is going to be a terrible day.

Morning shirley, one programme down and still wide awake. Good this, isn’t it?? could do with a cuppa but don’t want to wake Mr C. The downside of living in a bungalow is the kitchen is too close to the bedroom. At least no cuppa reduces my bathroom trips ?

Anniebach Wed 08-Nov-17 03:17:03

3.00am, mug of tea, so tired , the gritter was out last night so there must be ice , oh and only November , cheery thought - not.

cornergran Wed 08-Nov-17 03:45:35

Me again, annie, it feels like a very long night as I guess it does for you. No gritters here, sadly we don’t get them even when they are needed which I don’t think they are tonight. Weve a clear day forecast, hope it’s right, might help to wake me up. Have a fair drive to accomplish in, oh, 5 hours. It will be OK Mr C will take over if it’s too much, I’m lucky to have him. Hope you can get some more sleep after your mug of tea. Please rest when you can in the day. Sending love.

Good morning all,
For a change, I actually slept most of the night. I was exhausted last night. I hadn't heard a word all day from DH on his adventure in Islay. He "forgot his phone was on flight mode all day" angry.
I was so anxious when I noticed the return flight from Islay hadn't even taken off from Glasgow to go to Islay. I had visions of him spending the night there.
Does everyone get more anxious as they get older? It all seems so silly in the cold light of day. I never used to be like this. Anyway, I fell into bed last night, as they were so late back.
The purpose of the trip: my daughter's boyfriend asked my husband's approval to marry my daughter. (Unusual in this day and age) She doesn't know yet. I'm bursting to tell. smile
I hope everyone has a better day than last night was for them.

Anniebach Wed 08-Nov-17 09:13:51

I fined I have become more anxious with age Marydoll. But how romantic for your daughter. My son in laws had to ask me ?

MawBroon Thu 09-Nov-17 01:00:20

Sitting up tonight.
Things are quite serious. Paw had a massive haemorrhage while I was with him this evening and vomited copious amounts of blood. Everything swung into action but despite starting to transfuse him he kept on vomiting more blood.
He is to have an Endoscopy under anaesthetic (probably happening now) to try to find whether something has ruptured or what, stop the bleeding and stabilise him.
But I have been warned he is very poorly.

Joelsnan Thu 09-Nov-17 02:00:54

Thinking of you MawBroon and hoping all is well

Anniebach Thu 09-Nov-17 02:40:51

2.30 mug of tea.

So sorry MawBroon I do so hope all will be well. X

MawBroon Thu 09-Nov-17 02:49:18

Endoscopy did not show any more active bleeding but there is/was blood and a large clot in his stomach. Reversing his INR has stopped the bleeding but nothing visible that could be sealed off surgically/stitched so if he were to restart a bleed there's not a lot left they could do. He is stable but will be kept under so that they can try to see further in the morning. Not out of the woods yet. Waiting and seeing.
Might try to go to bed now.

BlueBelle Thu 09-Nov-17 03:58:28

Oh Mawboon I m so sorry to read this I hope by now you are having some rest thinking of you
Yes I m much more anxious than I used to be Mary it’s not just you
Here’s to some rest for you all xxxx

NanKate Thu 09-Nov-17 05:51:56

I do hope you have more positive news today Maw.

It is good to see you posting Annie from what you say your GN friends are helping you through a dreadful time in your life.

I definitely worry more now I am older. I had imagined that being a GN would be full of holidays, days out and enjoying our retirement - in reality it one stressful day after another supporting our DS going through a bitter divorce, where two innocent children will soon be thrown into the maelstrom of losing one of their parents from the home. I could weep, in fact that is what I have been doing since the summer. However like Annie I have been supported by 3 good GN friends which has been invaluable.

Marmight Thu 09-Nov-17 07:10:30

Sorry to hear about Paw Maw. Hope you have some more encouraging news this morning. Annie did you have some rest after your cuppa? NKate what a horrible time for you and yours.... I haven't been on this thread for a bit: moving has exhausted me but it has its upside. I've been sleeping better! I worry about the smallest thing these days; it always seems worse in the wee small hours. At least we are in good company with our mutual worrying!

Willow500 Thu 09-Nov-17 07:36:57

Oh gosh Maw I hope they manage to sort your husband out - how frightening for both of you. Annie hope you managed to get some sleep after your tea. My OH is in Italy this week so I'm supposedly not having to get up at 5 but of course it doesn't work like that does it. Up at 3 for the loo and wide awake thinking about all sorts of rubbish - managed to go back to sleep eventually and then my darling cat decided she needed the tray at 4.50 but her erm 'deposit' got stuck so she was hurtling round the bathroom and bedroom trying to get rid of it. Hence me on my knees with spray and cloths at the usual time - sigh! Rare day off today so going to a garden centre to look at lights grin

Nana3 Thu 09-Nov-17 07:39:35

Thinking of you all in these difficult times, Maw I hope you get better news today.
I will just whisper, I have slept a lot better this week.

cornergran Thu 09-Nov-17 08:05:37

Not here in the night, just catching up. Sending love to all who have been awake and struggling, thinking of you both maw, a terrifying night.

Marydoll Thu 09-Nov-17 08:32:02

Maw, I hope you get better news today.

MissAdventure Thu 09-Nov-17 10:00:23

Best wishes, Maw. Hope you and Paw have positive news today, or at least in the days to come. flowers

Bellanonna Thu 09-Nov-17 10:10:54

I agree with those who worry more. I worry about most things and there seems to be little time in between one worry and the next. I hate being like this. I used to be so carefree and laid back. ☹️
Very much thinking of *Maw and Paw today. It’s very hard on Maw especially.

Bellanonna Thu 09-Nov-17 10:12:18

Didn’t mean all that to be emboldened but obviously the iPad thought differently. So easy to blame an inanimate object!!

NanKate Thu 09-Nov-17 22:20:52

Thanks Marmight for your comment. My DS is being put through a miserable time. My DinL has become Jekyll and Hyde. Life is not always fair.

Swanny Thu 09-Nov-17 22:46:17

I usually get off to sleep ok but am regularly woken by my neighbour's squeaky doors! He is up a couple of times through the night and his daughter lives (very) nearby and visits about 6am (!) to see if he's still alive grin ! He's in his 90's and is very deaf but refuses to wear a hearing aid .... As a result I am woken by her opening doors and asking (shouting to ask) him if he's alright grin All good and proper, but ... I like to sleep till I wake, not till I'm woken before I'm ready grin

Anniebach Fri 10-Nov-17 03:26:56

3.15am, mug tea , will I ever sleep seven / eight hours through the night again.

MawBroon Fri 10-Nov-17 03:32:07

I have posted in Soop’s Kitchen.

Anniebach Fri 10-Nov-17 03:36:22

Maw, how is Paw ?

Anniebach Fri 10-Nov-17 03:39:00

Oh no, I just read your post, I am so sorry, please accept my hugs x
