Soop's special kitchen for like-minded folk and treasured pets

We've been for a walkie up the hill to the church then down through two fields , taking the long way round both, along the village green past our old house then home. It is such a nice afternoon now, I saw /met 8 people we know so able to catch up on some village gossip news and Hattie was very friendly and well behaved with all of them, including my neighbour's little boy George (4) who was on his way home from a party. Sadly he was NOT up for sharing the contents of his party bag! ?☹️

Mr C has given in charley, the threat was enough .

Sounds a lovely walk mawb, shame about the party bag though. Any treats in the cupboard?

Had my walk, would you believe I got myself lost in a housing development I hadn't ventured into before? Circular roads should be banned, totally lost my sense of direction. .

It is pouring here and has been for most of the afternoon.
I am already for my G&T but have an hour and a half to go.
I find weekends particularly difficult but in reality the days are no different to week days.
We have fillet steak tonight, it may or may not be greeted with approval.
I think sometimes chewing is difficult for him but not always.

ann does it really matter what time you have a G&T? You are not driving. I am sure that your clock is the correct time, 90 minutes ahead of mine which is definitely slow.

Rain was forecast but we have had sunshine instead. I am not complaining, but I could have switched on the washing machine.

Fillet steak sounds rather good- mine is chicken curry tonight and tomorrow. I must think about an early supper because Strictly is on so early.

It has been almost spring-like in Kintyre. Camera ready for a hoped for an interesting sunset.

corner When Torben was a wee baby, I walked for a few miles with him in his pram. On one occasion I also managed to get completely lost. He was ready for his feed and a very long way from home. I stopped to ask a policeman and he pointed in the opposite direction to which I was heading.

Maw Hattie is right darling girl. Gently pat her elegant head for me please.

Charleygirl The cough is beginning to improve. When I last had that bout of pneumonia, I couldn't get out of bed, or eat, and I hallucinated. This bug is not any where near as potent. MacSporran agree that we are slowly but surely on the mend. Bless you for your concern.

It will be our 29th wedding anniversary tomorrow. We will celebrate properly when we are fully fit. If all goes well, we'll maybe pop into the Glenbarr café (it's extremely roomy) and have a light lunch and a glass of wine.

I shall be with you again tomorrow. In the meantime, as Maw says...nunight.

Corner would find it impossible to get lost where I live because it is one road and a dead end. I know what she means because there is a council estate close by and it is a warren.

Hattie has had a lovely walk- I do hope that she received a treat at home as she was so well mannered when out meeting and greeting. No doubt she is now resting.

Evening folks. I could do with a gin or three myself - in fact, I may be totally welded to the bottle by the time I have finished!! Unfortunately though, we are babysitting tonight so alcohol is off the agenda. I thought we were making progress today - started off with horrendous back pain this morning but managed to get it under control by this afternoon. Then we hit a big snag with the bathroom that sent me into a decline. However, we think we may have a solution but it will mean taking a couple of tiles off. He is nothing we do ever straightforward? You may well ask.
Maw your walk with Hattie sounds lovely. When we had a dog I used to love walking him but had to keep him on the lead because as soon as I let him off, he used to run back home! I had no alternative but to do the same, where I would find him sitting on the doorstep wagging his tail as if to say, aren't I clever!
Ann I'm sorry to hear you have had a bit of a buggeration regarding the chair. I hate anything you have to put together and I agree you should have been told it wouldn't be ready assembled before you bought it. ? Hope you get it sorted out.

Well, off now to see the wee man. We'll just lock him in the cupboard as usual and let him out just before his parents are due back home, so should be a nice quiet evening! He hammers in the door a bit, but we just tune it out !

I can get lost anywhere charley, it's a talent . At least I didn't have a baby to worry about. There is a map function on my phone which could have directed me - if I knew how it works .

Fillet steak ( M&S ) was beautiful, 2 empty plates.
Today is my GS 2's 16 birthday, we haven't seen him for many months although he lives less than 3miles away.
His mother is bipolar and tells him how evil we are.
Our son ,his father doesn't help this situation.
I txtd to say his card and present were here as I
cant get it to him, he hasnt been although he did respond by txt to my early morning txt to wish him Happy Birthday.
Very low with this situation but what can I do apart from accept the situation.
The other 2 GC in this family are 8 and 6, again it is months since we have seen them.
Thank God H is oblivious to this, it is just me to regret the fact.

Oh ann I'm so sorry. I can feel your sadness. Families eh? Many hugs and seem inadequate but are sincerely meant. I hope tomorrow looks better.

I really regret posting that, I usually keep that side of my life private.
I don't tell my friends who all have a huge place in their families lives.
I just felt very vulnerable tonight.

ann you never really know about others families. Other people keep things private too. I have often, in the past, been slightly envious of others "perfect" lives only to find out later they weren't quite as perfect as they sounded. I gues we all have troubles and worries in our lives. Things don't always pan out as you'd hoped and some people are very good at hiding that. Life isn't always greener on the other side just try and find some peace in what you have (hugs)

I see my little ones but the stress in our lives is the on/off house move , so no-one has it all rosy.

We are more than happy to cosy-up in our wee hoos. As it's stormy outside, the log fire is laid. We are perfectly happy to enjoy our special day in the most simple of ways. A weekend away, (now that no longer have our darling Rory to fret away) is something to look forward to.

Greyduster Hats off to you. You soldier on regardless. It's the best any of us lot can do. I'm certain that that cupboard has all manner of mod cons. In fact, I bet that it is almost as good as a trip to Disney World.

ann I'm so sorry that you have discord with family to add to your husband's unwellness. Wouldn't it be lovely if us lot could help to make the bad stuff disappear. Whenever you need to "off load" then PLEASE do. We do care, albeit from afar.

I shall shortly add a photo of my husband and I on our wedding day. It was the turning point for us both. After 29 years together, I bless the day (three weeks after we met through Dateline) that MacSporran proposed. He's normally an extremely cautious individual.
