ann I agree, at that price I cannot understand how it arrived in its state of pieces.

If the Garden Centre did not know it was self assembly- there was little hope of you knowing.

When it is assembled, do not fall into the trap I fell into a couple of years ago. For Elf and Safety reasons the fellow delivering could not even bring the furniture into my hall- it sat on the doorstep until I could get assistance from neighbours.

I know that you will all be surprised to learn that I did not get the job of defrosting that woman's fridge/freezer! I PMed her politely but I think she may have received a few abusive messages because her request was removed pronto.

I hope that all of you poorly folk are feeling a bit better and sleep better tonight. That includes yourself and Hattie Maw.

corner I must investigate because I have never heard of a dropped shoulder. He would not have received much sympathy from me. Trust all of this to happen just before a weekend.

cornergran Fri 29-Sept-17 21:55:43

charley there is undoubtedly a more medical explanation but the physio knows I'm not! See what the GP says next week. Any case, he's decided he will live and looks a whole lot more cheerful. Phew.

callgirl1 Fri 29-Sept-17 21:56:30

My daughter has had a few of these chairs over the years. Twice the delivery men did the assembly, but the other times we had to get family members to help out, but there wasn`t a lot to do, mainly lift the top section into place on top of the main base, which is very heavy. I hope you get something sorted Ann, and pretty damn quick!
I hope that Mr Corner isn`t suffering too much by now, and that Soop, MacSporran and Grampy are all getting a bit better.
Maw, hopefully you will get a decent night`s sleep.
Oh, yes, Soop, I enjoyed my cuppa yesterday, Ken makes a nice cup of tea, but I had to subject myself to a good licking from his 2 very lively, excitable dogs, one of which likes nothing better than climbing up behind me on the chair and giving my neck and ears a good wash. His name is Alfie, his pal Sammy isn`t quite as energetic!
Kitty, I hope your evening went well.

Feeling down as tomorrow would have been golden wedding anniversary.
Been working all week since returning on Monday from lovely cruise with downsized.
I’m the fat one!
I’m wearing diamonds for change, she’s wearing pearls!

Galen Fri 29-Sept-17 23:04:24

I’m actually taller than she is!
I wear flats, she wears 12” stilettos!

cornergran Fri 29-Sept-17 23:06:24

You both look wonderful galen. Very elegant. Can understand it's a hard week and tomorrow will be especially so. Sending hugs through the ether. Be good to yourself.

Chewbacca Fri 29-Sept-17 23:27:33

That's a very nice photo galen, you both look absolutely lovely.

Charleygirl Sat 30-Sept-17 09:23:21

Galen I agree, you both look lovely. At least you enjoyed yourselves- shame really you had to come back to work.

NanaandGrampy Sat 30-Sept-17 09:32:20

Morning all !

Ann I hope the company were helpful with your chair assembly. What a pain. I know if it was just me I couldn't do it but luckily Grampy is a whizz with an allen key !! Happy to send him up by parcel post !! He'll bring his own leg of lamb in case you want to finish him off too ( after he's done the chair assembly of course !!)

For £600 they should send 2 men, a full cream tea, champagne and flowers and chocolates !!!!

Lucky find Baggs what a relief !

Poor MrC Corner hope he's feeling a touch better but sounds like this will take some time .

I had a lovely time babysitting. We played Power Rangers and I was the 'teacher' because , as Cooper informed me - you're the only one who can't jump off the sofa Nana !!' Fair enough !!

Hope you got a semi decent nights sleep Maw.

Galen you both look lovely - very elegant!

Grampy has stopped complaining about his cough, so either he's feeling better or he's worked out I'm not listening :-)

Today is a Christmas crafting day ( sorry grin)

Hope everyone has a little something nice planned for today xx

Granniequeenie Thank you for posting your God's brilliant idea o5r the water challenge
I told my D last evening and she is going to do it in her Pre school. She will help the children make their own boxes and take them home.
It will have to be 1 and 2 pences as she works in a very deprived area but with lovely children and parents who are very commited to their children.

annsixty Sat 30-Sept-17 09:51:19

Oh my!! GD's but your God will be happy with you.

MawBroon Sat 30-Sept-17 11:19:45

A very special bouquet of flowers for Galen hoping it contains Rosemary, "for remembrance"

I am recovering from finding out last night that we had run out of Paws immunosuppressant and you can't ring our surgery on a Saturday. He normally keeps spares of everything in a drawer but I hadn't checked!
Quickly did an online request last night but wasn't counting on it achieving much.
Flung myself on the receptionist's mercy when they opened this morning (TG not flu jab day or it would have been pandemonium!!) but with only one dr on duty, apparently they won't sign prescriptions, so round the corner to Boots (may their name be praised) who 1) actually had some stocks of a very expensive and fairly uncommon drug and 2) were prepared to "lend" me 4 days supply until the prescription comes though.
I could tell how stressed I was because I felt SICK and also had parked badly outside the surgery at a bad angle so that the car which subsequently parked beside me made it impossible to open the driver's door. Clambered in from the other side, managed to knock the gear-lever as I manoeuvred my legs over so promptly jumped forward and stalled when I turned on the engine. Fortunately the lamppost was over to be side, not right in front of my bumper.
Serious brewbrew needed!!
Otherwise -have a lovely day everybody!!!

harrigran Sat 30-Sept-17 11:54:54

Lovely photo Galen, you both look elegant.
Be kind to yourself today. We married two weeks after you.

soop Sat 30-Sept-17 12:29:43

Galen and downsized All I can say is WOW! You two look amazing.

Now I shall read all the other messages.

soop Sat 30-Sept-17 12:59:39

corner - levitating with frustration Oh my! I must remember that phrase. It's a winner. grin

ann Stand firm. Don't be fobbed off with wishy washy excuses. You are levitating with frustration and us lot are ganging up to support you through this total buggeration.

soop Sat 30-Sept-17 13:02:35

harrigranIt's a real treat to have your company. flowers

flowers also for Galen and, dare I add, an enormous ((((group hug))))

Swanny Sat 30-Sept-17 13:07:26

Maw that was a heck of a thing to realise just before bedtime and I can imagine the stress you felt this morning. Our local chemist also 'lends' a few days medication to customers who've not got their regular prescription for one reason or another. Hope the brew has helped x

soop Sat 30-Sept-17 13:14:07

Dear maw Of course you were stressed. I would have been levitating with stress in your shoes. Whenever I'm stressed the parking of the car is rubbish and an embarrassment in equal measure.

N&G grin Power Ranger teacher extraordinaire.

callgirl1 smile

Get well soon message to Mr corner. You have lots of sympathetic supporters. Enjoy the pampering. wink

A warm welcome to Chewbacca from us lot sunshine

Swanny Sat 30-Sept-17 13:20:01

What a fabulous photo Galen and downsized , you both look exceptionally elegant.

Swanny Sat 30-Sept-17 13:20:36

Thinking of you today Galen flowers What would have been my golden wedding anniversary found me quite morose. Why that one should affect me worse than others I don't know, as my bridegroom is still around - just not with me and hasn't been for many years.

Crafting Sat 30-Sept-17 13:22:22

Galen and downsize how glamorous you both look. Hope you had a good cruise. Joining in with soop and the group hug ?

maw what a shock. The last thing you need is to running round like that. Time out for a brew definitely needed ?

Charleygirl Sat 30-Sept-17 14:04:38

Maw you were stressed out of your mind and almost off the planet but you were fortunate that Boots had the drug in stock. I would like to think that you and Hattie have time to lie on a sofa and have a bit of shut eye this afternoon. She deserves it as much as yourself. I am imagining that Paw is blissfully unaware of this morning's goings on by this mad woman.

soop Sat 30-Sept-17 14:09:26

Charleyg grin

cornergran Sat 30-Sept-17 14:16:48

Hope a brew or several have helped mawb, I can imagine the horror you felt. Think you did well to get the outcome you did. Thank goodness for a sensible pharmacy.

Sshh, say it quietly, Mr C is reporting improvement, I think all will be well soon. Still making encouraging him to keep his GP appointment next week though.

The rain seems to have stopped so I'm off for some fresh air. Take care all

Charleygirl Sat 30-Sept-17 15:21:47

corner please tell Mr. C that he will be keeping that GP appointment next week, he needs a neck xray if nothing else. Possibly an xray of his shoulder but that will be up to him/her.

Like soop he may need some -pushing- encouragement to go. I cannot be in three places at once, the north of Scotland, your neck of the woods and my meeting here.
