Sneaky b, going offline and leaving us all on a cliffedge!

soop Wed 11-Oct-17 17:36:42

Charleyg I'm going through the alphabet and I remain stumped. This is far worse than the Telegraph cryptic crossword. wink

phoenix Wed 11-Oct-17 17:36:49

Here (hopefully) is a picture of the two of them together!

Elegran Wed 11-Oct-17 17:37:14

We'll just have to wait until you are tempted to post on one of the more high-profile threads.

soop Wed 11-Oct-17 17:38:04

I doubt that I shall be able to sleep tonight. Fennel remains a mystery. I've stuff to do and it's time I logged off. Drat!

phoenix Wed 11-Oct-17 17:38:17

Digby is lying along the back of the sofa, and Oliver Sprout is lying across Digby!

Elegran Wed 11-Oct-17 17:38:21

Not you, phoenix, or Digger or Oliver Sprout.

soop Wed 11-Oct-17 17:41:00

Aww, Pheonix They are little darlings. What a beautiful pair. Here is an oldish pic of Rory. It was taken at a time when he still had a figure. Towards the end of his life he became portly. It can happen to the best of us.

phoenix Wed 11-Oct-17 17:43:26

Such a handsome chap!

soop Wed 11-Oct-17 17:56:57

phoenix Totally unique! It was a privilege to have had him move in and take over the house and we the owners. grin

Now that the mystery has been solved, I shall log off and faff aboot the hoos like any good housewife. wink

I shall return in the morning. Good night one and all. smile moon.

Charleygirl Wed 11-Oct-17 18:02:45

phoenix that is a lovely photo of that pair. Digby does not look overjoyed but being born bone idle he has not done much about it.

phoenix Wed 11-Oct-17 18:50:17

Thank you Charleygirl It's not a particularly recent photo. When we first got OS all he wanted to do was be chums with (and snuggle up to) Digby!

The photo shows the first time he managed it! grin

MawBroon Wed 11-Oct-17 19:31:28

Fennel is this like Charades or Give us a Clue? Because I frankly haven’t got one confused

cornergran Wed 11-Oct-17 20:01:52

Phew. Time for a sit down. This time yesterday we were stuck on a jammed M4. Our usual 90 minute trip took 190. Good job I'd visited the toilet before we left. grin.

I've skimmed through from Saturday, so hard to catch up.

Your family gathering for David sounded wonderful, callgirl. Loved the photo book idea, soop. You did wonderfully well, they can be so difficult to complete.

I smiled at your rock chick, n&g, a lovely young lady, we have one of those too. Just love the shopping trips, such fun.

Hope you feel better now swanny, that the gluten has finally left the building and all is calm now, kitty and your equanimity has been restored Greyduster.

A belated happy birthday to grannyq and a huge celebratory smile for charley. Seems odd to celebrate surgery but in this case it's just the thing to do.

I'm whispering this, I think I might have worked out who fennel is, or should I say was.

We were at a funeral this morning, a neighbour couple died within days of each other. Their family held a joint funeral service for them today. It was very emotional but so much of their essence was in the service that it was also a calming and gentle experience. It will be strange here without them.

Tomorrow we are at the local hospital twice. Routine, nothing to worry about other than the exorbitant car parking charge. The first appointment is at 8am. Hmm, early night I think.

Crafting Wed 11-Oct-17 20:55:45

Well I won't sleep tonight. My mind will be going over and over. Who is Fennel ? I'm flummoxed ?

Crafting Wed 11-Oct-17 20:59:43

Aaaah! The penny's dropped. I've got it now. Phew, I can sleep tonight. grin

MawBroon Wed 11-Oct-17 22:04:22

Thank you somebody who shall not be named. Think I’ve got it now!

Just wanted to show off my Lapdog” (?) watching Doc Martin with me tonight. She was very perplexed at the barking going on. confused

Charleygirl Wed 11-Oct-17 22:09:24

Maw the fireworks season will soon be upon us- how is poor Hattie going to cope?

I still have not worked out who Fennel used to be so I have given up and I am going to bed.

oldgoat Wed 11-Oct-17 22:49:38

Lots of lovely animal photos on here today! soop did you ever paint Rory's portrait? What a beautiful boy he was.
After my amateurish attempts to capture the view from the beach at Muasdale, I've today joined a painting class and spent the morning mixing different shades of acrylic green paint to try, unsuccessfully, to paint a chunk of broccoli.
I always think Oliver Sprout sounds like a green cat. I was talking to younger GS this morning about one of Oscar's toys, known as 'the pussy'. "You know, Granny, that's a very bad word" he said "Big brother told me"!

I don't think we will be in Kintyre at the same time as you callgirl. A meet-up with you, soop and MacSporran would have been a great treat

annodomini Wed 11-Oct-17 23:15:37

Gotcha, Fennel.

Nelliemoser Wed 11-Oct-17 23:35:41

I am none the wiser on Fennel bit, but a few years back there was a photo of, I think, a "northeast" meet up with names put to user names.
If anyone wants to play detectives and seek out the photo now is your chance.

Charleygirl Thu 12-Oct-17 09:12:43

Nellie two kind folk helped me out late last night so I have sent you the old name. I hope that your sleep was not disturbed!

Thankfully my 4 legged alarm woke me this morning or I would possibly be late for the monthly coffee meetup with other GNs. The brain is not in gear but when is it ever?

MawBroon Thu 12-Oct-17 09:18:03

I am hoping Charleygirl that Hattie is laid back enough not to be bothered, but not looking forward to them, the ? fireworks, I mean. I think food will help, she does seem to have a one track mind.
Having her snuggle up on the sofa last night was lovely but I did laugh at her reaction to the dogs barking on tv.
Bit of a squeeze, mind you, a bit like this?

annodomini Thu 12-Oct-17 09:26:21

Maw, better not let Hattie watch The Supervet. She might well become a canine hypochondriac. grin

soop Thu 12-Oct-17 12:43:57

Good afternoon dear Granspals. It's a grey day. We've managed a decent walk and stopped to talk to a few villagers and catch up with stuff that is happening elsewhere.

Maw The cartoon is perfect. Hattie has settled into her new home and she'll no doubt give you a great deal of pleasure.

Charleyg Enjoy coffee meetup with your friends. I would love to be able to join you. Sadly, I'm too far away.

oldgoat Painting is good therapy. When I next feel inspired I shall not know when to stop. It's been some time since I put my arty farty hat on and splashed paint all over myself.

corner I enjoyed reading your interesting news. Eight o'clock is a very early hospital appointment. I hope that all goes well. You shouldn't have too much difficulty parking at that time of the day.
