How much will it cost to leave the EU?

Reading so many different figures. £20Billion - £60Billion ????

Apparently we can pay it in installment (generous of them)

So it got me thinking. What could we give the EU as a one off settlement?

I'm thinking on the lines of a few palaces etc. maybe a street or two in London?

What about Scotland or Wales or maybe the North East (with a palace or two to make the money up) ? grin

Would they need to move Buck House though Jalima could it not just stay there and become a little European principality ? Likewise Kensington Palace and all the others.

I've got some Italian lira, French centimes and Greek drachma coins in the back of the kitchen drawer, would they help? Could be very useful for if the euro collapses. I've also got half a book of Green Shield stamps that I've been saving for just such an emergency.

No gillybob - they would have to negotiate a 'safe route' from Dover to Buck House.
Better to move it crumbling brick by crumbling brick/leaking roof tiles.

DD has a huge bottle full of foreign currency - she won't miss it!

Well, I think we should take a firm hand and send a Warship!!! The EU would clearly be so terrified that they would beg, maybe even pay us to go. Any suggestions for a crew would be appreciated!!grin

Me!

nigglynellie Sat 22-Jul-17 18:04:21

Chewbacca Sat 22-Jul-17 18:16:18

Do we have any warships these days ? Or is it the planes we haven't got ? Or shells?

What else could we use as ammo?

Sorry chewy your name is top of the list now . Your gonna be the captain .. now it's up to you to find a crew !

Chewbacca Sat 22-Jul-17 18:49:29

Can I name the ship Boaty McBoatface or is that passe?

Ana Sat 22-Jul-17 18:51:29

Hm...doesn't sound very warlike, does it? Not sure the EU would be impressed! grin

whitewave Sat 22-Jul-17 18:52:47

Swedes have a train " Trainy McTrain Face"

gillybob Sat 22-Jul-17 18:54:09

Aye aye Captain . (Saluting emoticon) .

Your ship, your rules ...

Oh. On second thoughts I think that name is taken ? Didn't they call the little sub thingy that ?

gillybob Sat 22-Jul-17 18:55:37

Yes I heard that ww brilliant ! I didn't have the Swedes down for having a GSOH !

gillybob Sat 22-Jul-17 18:56:50

Maybe needs to have a scary name ( scratching head) hmm

Maggiemaybe Sat 22-Jul-17 18:57:29

Chewbacca, cometh the hour, cometh the woman. You'll have no trouble finding a crew. I hear you've plenty of sailor boys over at the Argy Bargy.

gillybob Sat 22-Jul-17 18:58:11

What about Mrs Thatcher ?

They'll poop their pants if they see that heading for them !

gillybob Sat 22-Jul-17 18:59:44

We can paint a handbag on the side then they'll know we mean business !

Ana Sat 22-Jul-17 19:00:04

Especially if we have her as a figurehead at the prow of the boat ship!

gillybob Sat 22-Jul-17 19:00:30

And the megaphone could announce our arrival

The lady is not for turning !

gillybob Sat 22-Jul-17 19:02:01

Jeez imagine seeing that mug heading for your shores ? Brilliant idea * Ana*!

whitewave Sat 22-Jul-17 19:02:41

In which case you would bump into France

Chewbacca Sat 22-Jul-17 19:03:13

I'm taking John Berrow as the ships boy. And Ed Balls as bosun. And Ellen Mccarthy so we get to where we're going. And a large box of tissues for when she gets a bit emotional.

gillybob Sat 22-Jul-17 19:05:18

Missed your offer of old coins and green shield stamps chewy could you dig them out ? I have quite a few Morrisons "and more" points and a sparks card ( whatever the hell they're for) oh and some advantage points on a Boots card .

Ana Sat 22-Jul-17 19:07:48

Not sure about Bercow, he's a bit of a self-serving bar steward...
