To own up or not?

Couldn't she say it was a rotten avocado as they are apparently posh. Just mention she only bought it yesterday and there it was, rotten. Glad the kitten is ok.

They probably won't ask for a reason, but I'd tell them what happened to brighten up the day. The staff will have a good giggle!

Was there not a funny smell as well?

Cancel appointment and say DC confessed to having spilt jar of paint water on kitchen floor

Butternut squash sounded posh enough to me. I would own up - it is funny and there won't be a cancellation fee ... just a lot of smiles. Didn't even cross my mind to be judgemental about housekeeping skills - could so easily have been me LOL

Does one have to give a reason for cancelling an appointment? Mind you I'm gratified by the reasoning! Reminds me I'm not alone!

Definitely tell them the truth - we all need a giggle or two at work and it will make their day. They will have heard much sillier stories about pets before.

I find that funny, too. We used to grow them in our US garden and one got so big that it wasn't practical to eat, so my mother used it for the kitchen back door stop. It never rotted, must have 'petrified' inside or something!

Oh yes definitely own up - the staff will love that and it will get repeated around the practice! Don't say it was avocado though as I have a feeling that that is poisonous to some animals - dogs shouldn't have it.

Reminds me of the time years ago that I called in the Gas Board because I thought I could smell gas in the kitchen. They came very promptly and spent ages trying to find a leak with no avail. After they'd left I realised it was the cat litter that smelt!!!!

By all means cancel the appointment but tell the Vets the reason. It will make their day
