Featured at Glastonbury! Was that the best time of your life?

It certainly was one of my best times.
Graduated from St A, got married, moved to London, started an interesting well-paid job!

The arrival of my children and a few happy years as SAHM surpassed it but it's still a fond memory!

I was 24 with 2 children (7 and 5), no money and very happy. Certainly a lovely time.

Was a stewardess with BEA but they called us air hostesses in those days. Flew the middle eastern routes and spent night stopover in places like Istanbul,Cairo,Beirut,Tel Aviv and Athens.
Met my lovely DH and got married same year.
Still flying ......just not on aeroplanes !

Married a year and in the summer we bought our first house, no money, no furniture so had to beg, borrow and haunt junk shops and auctions. Yes, a happy time, but one of many.

21, married had my son in July. It was quite a hot summer in North Yorkshire. I remember feeding him and watching the moon landing

I sat my nursing finals and was waiting for results on nights. I remember the brilliant music - Peter Sarstedt, Mary Hopkins, Lulu, Sandie Shaw and many many more.

I also went to IOW to see Dylan, told my mum I was holidaying with a school friend!
I'm glad there were no mobile phones then! My strict mother just accepted the story. Why would it not be true?!

Aged 26, married for 6 years, 4th child born in the October. Stayed up all night for the moon landing, whilst hubby removed a Wicklow from my thumb (ouch!!)

Last year of my degree course - lots of revision that summer!

I was 4 at the start and 5 at the end (August birthday!) - don't remember the summer of 1969 or the moon landing but remember the (Bristol) floods of 1968, and the SS Great Britain returning home in 1970.

I was 11, just left primary school and feeling excited and scared at the thought of September. Played out all day with all the kids in the adjacent cul de sac, not yet too grown up to feel I shouldn't!

I was 11 (turned 12 in the October) and spent the entire school hols on the beach or the tennis courts with best friend Sue. I don't play tennis any longer, (my knees refuse to); still enjoy spending time on the beach; Sue and I are still the closest of friends!

I was 20 and gave birth to my son on the evening that the heatwave broke I was watching the rain and lightening in the early hours while giving him his first feed. Those last few weeks were unbearably hot I spent many hours in the shower.grin

We got married in 1969. The following year DD was born and that was the best day of my life. However, I loved my Beatles days. Queuing to see them in concert, a group of us friends getting together and sending them fan mail, playing truant blush one afternoon to try to see them, George (my favourite) spoke to us that day, winning a competition to sit behind them on stage. Also going to see many other bands of the day live - Rolling Stones, Kinks and more. Happy days smile

I was 23 and had been married two years. DD was born in the spring of 1969 and I spent the summer pushing her around in the big pram with the canopy on. I have a photograph of her lying on a rug with the moon landing on the TV.
We had very little in the way of furniture and no washing machine but we were happy.

I was 13, a gawky looking, unhappy kid. My father had died four years previously and my mother had met a chap in Malta and spent a lot of time visiting whilst I was palmed off on friends.

Both my beloved sisters had left home, one to teach in London and the other to university, so I felt somewhat abandoned.

Mother stayed with her new chap for thirty years and I grew to be very fond of him. I also met my DH on one of my visits to Malta to see mum.

The eighties/nineties were my happiest times and I treasure the memories.

Husband and i newly married were on holiday on the isle of wight and came back on the ferry at the same time as the crowds who had seen bob Dylan. A great atmosphere. Not sure we even realised it had been going on.

I remember going to watch The Rolling Stones concert in Hyde Park and the fact that the escalator at the railway station didnt work and we had to climb up those stairs unaided, wouldnt be able to do that now!!!!. It was a fantastic day and the most memorable part was when they released thousands of white butterflies to remember Brian Jones who had died.

silverlining48 Sat 24-Jun-17 18:58:18

When i was 15 i went to see the rolling stones in concert. They had just had their first hit 'come on'. I was there to see the everly brothers who were top of the bill. As we waited outside the theatre we were chatted up by a couple of scruffs, gave them the cold shoulder. We got inside sat down the first act were the scruffs aka the rolling stones. To think i might have been the first mrs jagger!!

I was 10. My baby sister 2
DH 18 so he was having a ball at
'Weston Super Mare'. As he is apt to call it sunshine

Nandalot Sat 24-Jun-17 20:06:15

Like quite a lot of others on here had just had my first baby. He was very colicky and I remember walking him in his prism around the cobbled streets of Rochdale in the warm, summer evenings. He would fall asleep and we would return to our 13th floor flat. He would stay asleep in the lift, but the minute we opened the flat door he would start screaming!

I was 20 and living in south Devon. I loved it, worked in a large office during the week and had a great social life at the weekend. Lots of fun with small boats, jeeps and country walks. Lots of parties with possibly lots of cider. Lots of neighbour fished, so we always had great fresh fish. Happy days though the marriage didn't last.

I was 15 and spent two weeks of the summer of '69 with the boyfriend I was besotted with before he left to go back home to Leeds. It was that year that I finally started to go out with the boy in my class who I'd been chasing since I was 13. On the rebound from bf no 1 I only went out with him to keep my friend company. 46 years later we're still together. I love that song - it reminds me so much of the times we roadied for my youngest son's band when he was only 15 and too young to drive (or actually to be in the clubs and pubs they played in!). Happy days.
