Just back from shopping. A nice lady was doing bag packing 'for Manchester'. I asked what this collection was for and all she could say was that it was to 'help' Manchester. I was puzzled. I understand the impulse to do something supportive but am not sure how just sending money would help.
Sadly there are many victims of terrorism, many of them are languishing in refugee camps. Would money collected not be better directed towards them? Obviously I'll be told I'm a miserable cow for thinking this but I do!

No need to define Mass.

The muslim culture i know do not adapt to our culture. The muslim culture I know are confined and stay that way.

Why are the heads of your culture not putting themselves out all over the media and the press at every given opportunity in support for our society and our freedom?

In what way have you fought 'long and hard' for equality SAAK?

stillaliveandkicking Mon 05-Jun-17 21:50:24

No need to explain what I've done. The muslim religion is derogatory to women.

As far as I can see the 'head of my culture' has been very vocal in using every opportunity to support freedom and society so not quite sure how much more you'd want.

So still no answer to what you mean by mass immigration and no response to TM's arms deal?
Like anya I 'd like to know how you've fought long and hard for equality when you refuse to employ anyone with a foreign-sounding name.

Re Saak's post at 18.19.54. If you didn't see ITV News at Ten I suggest you watch it on catch up.

Im all for foreign sounding names. Im just not for a culture where even the women hide themselves.

Ok. You choose to reiterate rubbish, ignore genuine comments and like TM ignore questions you won't/can't answer. Complete waste of time and effort.

Our current (and hopefully next) MP is Tasmina Ahmed Sheik. No shrinking violet, she defiantly does not hide her light under a Burka, or Hijab. She was born in Britain, calls Scotland home, is strongly feminist and a practising Muslim, currently fasting for Ramadan.

How do you feel SAKK about this strong woman fighting in Westminster for equal rights, particularly for the WASPI women, opposing benefit cuts/sanctions, removing tax credits from low paid workers and increasing NI for the self employed.

Would you vote for her?

My initial reaction to the Manchester bombing was that DH and I should send money for funerals as I knew the cost and realised many people would not normally have anticipated a child's funeral in their life. I'm another that hates the soft toys and flowers . We call them cellotaphs.

'Cellotaphs' - excellent word Stansgran!

SAAK Do not include me in you fight for women's rights. I know loads of Muslim women who are British and some who are not but live in Britain. Their lives, opinions etc are as diverse as women on GN. The problem you have is that you see women who follow Islam as a homogenous group.. like saying all atheists are racists.

stillaliveandkicking Fri 09-Jun-17 19:05:36

With respect. I believe that all religion is man made in the image of himself therefore women are the under-dogs. I cannot support this.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned criminal injuries compensation. Victims of terrorist attacks are entitled to claim and awards can be up to £500,000.

Jane10 Sat 10-Jun-17 08:43:24

I hadn't realised that Katek. Where does this money come from though? It won't be recoverable from the murderer's assets?

Katek Sat 10-Jun-17 10:32:25

It falls within the remit of the Ministry of Justice jane and is government funded.

So the taxpayer could have to pay out millions of pounds due to this apology for a Muslim?! That doesn't feel right at all.

Jane10 Sat 10-Jun-17 10:59:16

I don't mean as an apology for his behaviour BTW. I meant that he was an apology for a Muslim.
