Not everyone jollyg. The British government agreed to convert the Deutschmarks held by C I collaborators into sterling with no questions asked. In France everyone worked for the Resistance , and collaborators got short swift..... according to the media! The first casualty of war, and the ensuing peace is the truth as we all know.
Maybe posters should do more research when reading in particular the DM.
Before I'm shot down ... or at dawn for treacherous remarks I would like to state I have spent 5 years researching the work of the French Resistance in the Gers , so I can speak with some authority on the 'heroic' behaviour of the average Frenchman or woman. Like the CI they kept their heads down. Who can blame them? Just don't believe everything you read ....

Enigma and the spooks , cypher interpreters, with infiltrations into france did heroic deeds as well as these in the Channel Isles did .

We were not wimps in those days, nor ruled by eurocrats, unelected.

All worked for the best for he counrty

Yes I have been reading about this, it was horrific and all hushed up. Thousands of prisoners perished apparently.

This is part two of a report about one of the Channel Islands occupied by the Germans in WWII.
