I have just spoken to Rubylady she had an appointment at the MRI today and was admitted to the Acute heart ward for tests. She is on a drip and is to have an MRI scan and an angiogram.
She sounds in good spirits, it is a nice ward and patients ok.
She asks "for grapes please"
Her son has been quite shocked by the seriousness of her condition and has come home to look after the dog and the other pets.

This thread reads like a novel "Be Still My Beating Heart" followed by the sequel: "Woman on the Train".

Rubylady - I'm sorry not to have sent best wishes sooner, but I've only just seen this. I do hope that you'll be feeling much better after your treatment. flowers I expect your son will be preparing for end of term exams at the moment, so good for him that he's come home to look after the little dog and keep the household ticking over in your absence.
Ann - flowers for you too, what kindness you've shown.

Good to hear from you ruby, keep that sense of humour and you can't do anything other than recover. All good wishes and as many grapes as you can eat.

Latest news from the sickbed ~ DONG soggy cheese and tomato butty eaten under protest ~ DONG woman in next bed thinks I want to steal her husband after strawberries conversation ~ DONG Ann's grapes were my delicious midnight snack last night ~ DONG male visitors on the ward at 9am, not even had time to roll boobs into my bra ~ DONG missing my laptop to keep a better eye on my GN friends!

Sending an SOS, if anyone has a drone, can you please get it to bring me a brew! I will not survive on four brews a day, I dream of milky coffee. Son still got my card so cant sneak through the laser beams and Rotties to get to a cafe. Sucking hard on these grapes for their juice, it's very welcome after stale warm plastic jugged water. I'm going to have some chocolate Ann tonight for my Friday night treat, yummy and thanks again. Now, who's visiting me next? lol

grannylyn65 Fri 28-Apr-17 16:19:18

Am bringing chips, do you want gravy or curry sauce?

baubles Fri 28-Apr-17 16:19:39

Do I see the start of a virtual hospital visit from N S E and W ??

Galen Fri 28-Apr-17 17:04:05

You could ask for one that speaks when you press your tummy button; here are a few phrases to choose from ruby:

I have been asked on another thread what I am going to buy myself for my 80th birthday in a few weeks time.
I have really been struggling to come up with something suitable but thanks to all you very kind people I have the answer.
I will buy myself a lovely box to keep my highly polished halo in when I am not wearing it.
Than you so much for kind remarks,I was glad to be able to do it.

Indinana Sat 29-Apr-17 09:13:29

Oh Ruby, so sorry not to have sent my best wishes to you before now - I have only just found this thread. Thank heavens things are beginning to move now and you can finally begin to look forward to leading a normal life! I'm so pleased your son is being there for you, but you must be missing your little doggie so much - if only he could bring him to the hospital for you to see briefly, it would be such a tonic for you! When my DD was in hospital for five days after a C-section, my DH brought her black lab to the nearest door and she was able to walk there and see her. It really made her day!
What a good friend you have in annsixty. Well done ann, you are a true friend in need and we all know you have troubles enough of your own. What a star you are - keep polishing that halo, you have definitely earned it!
Keep fighting the good fight Ruby - looking forward to hearing that you are home and recovering and on the way to a 'new you' flowers

Bellanonna Sat 29-Apr-17 09:34:29

Bellanonna Sat 29-Apr-17 09:49:57

Didn't mean that to look facetious! As averyone else said, it was good of you to go. Must have cheered Ruby up a lot.
