I have just spoken to Rubylady she had an appointment at the MRI today and was admitted to the Acute heart ward for tests. She is on a drip and is to have an MRI scan and an angiogram.
She sounds in good spirits, it is a nice ward and patients ok.
She asks "for grapes please"
Her son has been quite shocked by the seriousness of her condition and has come home to look after the dog and the other pets.

Thank you both.

annsixty
That's the trouble with social media, isn't it? I'm so sorry for the two of you that there was a misunderstanding when I know for sure that your both caring people.
Don't beat yourself up, Ann. I have been in your position many times, but my best intentions have come back to bite me.

grannyactivist Thu 14-Sept-17 10:29:42

Oh annsixty and Ruby I'm so sorry to hear there has been a misunderstanding. These things do happen, but there is usually a way forward; I'll bet you're both feeling pretty miserable about it too. Sending flowers to you both and hoping that kindliness will prevail.

annsixty Thu 14-Sept-17 10:13:13

No sal I am not, but I wish she would post to let us know how she is.

shysal Thu 14-Sept-17 09:53:46

I tried to PM her, but I too got the message that she wasn't returning messages. I assumed she had left, which saddened me. I hope she is lurking. Are you still in touch annsixty?

annsixty Thu 14-Sept-17 09:27:47

I also wish Ruby would start posting again.
I have felt a huge responsibility for her not posting as it was me who caused the misunderstanding in the first place, but I was only acting out of deep concern.
I understand she is not accepting PMs but I think that means she has not left.
Please come back Ruby to let us know how your recovery is going and I wish you well.

morethan2 Thu 14-Sept-17 09:19:20

When I reawaken the sleep thread I thought of rubylady because in the past we were often awake at the same time and she was wonderfully supportive. I hope she's well and send best wishes.

MawBroon Thu 14-Sept-17 08:30:35

I think rubylady said she was taking a break, it seemed to me over a misunderstanding of our concern for her.
If you are still reading posts ruby do come back. I hope things are going better for you these days.
And if anybody knows ruby in RL or is in touch with her, please pass on our good wishes.

NanKate Thu 14-Sept-17 07:07:16

Bellanonna Wed 09-Aug-17 22:43:45

Bellanonna Wed 09-Aug-17 22:41:26

You really make me laugh out loud Ruby ?

rubylady Sun 06-Aug-17 00:01:01

No I didn't cornergran, but I have heard the catch phrase. X

I've just spent ages setting up the hamster's bigger cage, all his toys, three floors and comfy bedding and he's took a bite out of me with his fangs! Little furry bugger! Just looking up if I need a tetanus for it. Blood pored out but that's the Warfarin. It's stopped now. I'm having hamster curry for supper! Xxx

cornergran Sat 05-Aug-17 22:36:04

You're a tonic. ruby, pleased you got back home in one piece. Just be careful out there. smile. (Did you ever come across Hill Street Blues, it was a catch phrase)

rubylady Sat 05-Aug-17 22:21:02

Hi MiniMouse, I'm glad that I made you laugh. I also had a guy who was serving in a wallpaper shop show me all his home on his phone, showed me all the wallpaper he had used and was asking my opinion on it all! I ask you, I really don't know how I find them.

The tiles are stickers, come in 4" and 6" sizes, off eBay and cost me £8.99 for a pack of 24. Different colours are available. But they just peel off and stick on. I've used some silver glittery ones in my bathroom, makes it look very glam. They can go over existing tiles no problem without all the expense and faff off retiling. It's worth a go for less than a tenner and they do come back off if you don't like the effect. Let me know if you get some and how they go. I've ordered another pack with more pink in to match the living room, which will get finished off when I get a round toit! Lol. Take care, lots of love X

MiniMouse Sat 05-Aug-17 15:52:26

Good to see that your sense of humour's still intact, Ruby! That really made me lol.

Interested to see your Moroccan tiles - they're exactly what I've been eyeing up for the tiling around and above a vanity unit. Do they need any sort of grouting, or do they fit snugly together? Hooray for eBay, I say! (other auction sites are available!)

TAKE THINGS EASY !!

rubylady Sat 05-Aug-17 15:38:05

This is what overdoing things looks like! ? Having a very sore, aching day today, going to have to take things a little slower and steadier than last few days.

I bought a bedside cabinet from the PDSA last week and this week I've painted it up. It's given me great pleasure but it's amazing how it has taken energy out of me just doing small things. I received today, these gorgeous stick on tiles for the coffee table, sideboard and to cabinet, to make it look more Moroccan. They are peel off sticker tiles and I intend to put them on the drawer/cupboard fronts. I will post pics once done.

I took my Maggie to the park, via nearly buying a car, on Thursday. I called at a place where my ex employer works now, at a food bank/church/helping people. She is a welfare rights officer. Anyway, she wasn't there but a woman was, who came to the door and initially was talking ok. After I got a word in to tell her why I was there and about the op, she asked if she could lay hands on me and pray for me. All this sitting on my scooter at the door to this place, down a back street. She did the prayer but I had visions of her inviting me in for a brew and of you lot never seeing or hearing from me again! She wanted to pray again but I said no then made my excuse to leave.

Yesterday, after Warfarin clinic, I went to the best cafe around for a long dreamt of fry up. I was just finishing eating when I noticed a guy kept looking at me. He was smiley and seemed ok (not attractive ok, but ok to chat to). He was a few tables away so I said he could join me if he wanted. He flew over the room! Before his derrière hit the seat, he had started on a story which I could not understand nor hear properly. His voice was in the range of a dog's hearing! I just nodded. Something about marriage ( I hope he wasn't proposing with me nodding away, I'm probably engaged now! ) But, as he was revealing his life story, bits of saliva built up on his lips, probably because he wasn't pausing for breath. Again I thought I was trapped. He offered his hand to formally introduce himself and fortunately, after about 15 minutes of me nodding like a 1970's tipping water ducking bird (ornament, very entertaining for a child), he said he had to go. On getting up he shook my hand again and told me that he would pray for me. ?‍♀️

So, I'm staying in today, locking all doors, taking the phone off the hook and hiding under my bed!

What the ? I thought I looked ok, not that I needed praying for! Why me?

Swanny Thank you for your message, it was lovely to hear from you. I know, I've had the heating on a bit too but then I have the window open and the fan on. Maybe I do need praying for, thinking about it, ?

I had gone to The Salvation Army cafe too, took Maggie with me. It's a good job she's so cute because she gets away with going in places she really shouldn't. Again, but more obviously this time, they were talking about faith etc. My beloved grandma took me to a meeting when I was a child and I've always remembered their kindness.

Anyway, I've a brew going cold so go and get it and . . . I'm off to Bible study! ?

Lots of love, ❤️X

Swanny Thu 03-Aug-17 22:15:16

ruby how are you doing?. Hope you and Maggie are able to get out and about a bit more these days, although the weather here in London has been atrocious for the time of year. Lately it's been wet and windy, warm and windy or just plain windy grin Can't remember the last time I was able to sit in the garden in the sunshine. DGS and I got caught in a downpour yesterday and had to put the heating on to dry off his clothes before his mum came to take him home!! Love and (((hugs)))

rubylady Tue 25-Jul-17 19:31:51

Thank you all so much for your gorgeous birthday wishes, I am bowled over, honestly. ?

I have been a bit stiff and sore since being out but it was worth it. Discharged from another Warfarin clinic yesterday, now onto the weekly clinic near me which I can get to on my chariot. ? First one on Friday. I might venture out to the high street though tomorrow, take Dame Maggie with me, I have some business to do and she'd love to come along. Then in the next week or so, I might try to get to the garden centre (plenty of chairs dotted around!). It will make a nice change from clinics, nurses and doctors. Plus ideas are already festering for my garden makeover next year. The "Flower Power" back to back garden on Tatton was gorgeous, very inspiring.

I hope you're all getting out into your gardens and enjoying the sunshine. It's not scorching here but warm enough to sit out with three blankets round us! ?

Off to take tablets, have fun, take care and lots of love to you all. Xxx

Gagagran Tue 25-Jul-17 10:43:20
