How do I explain ?

I had a right side mastectomy 12 years ago and wear a silicon prosthesis in a normal bra.
I also wear normal clothes with V or sometimes square necklines as these styles suit me better than high /round necks. Also I hate the trapped feeling high necks give me.

The problem I have is that my small grandchildren like to pull at the neckline of tops and will sometimes stick their hands down my cleaveage. They then encounter a very strange boob and look at me questioningly. The older ones have tried to pull the boob out and I divert their attention -successfully so far.

But any idea how I explain what the 'thing' is doing down grandmas top? How did it get there and why

I dont want to say the wrong thing and either make them more inquisitive or scared.

If the question is real. There is a very simple answer to the problem. Wear higher necked tops when with your grandchildren. That way they will not be able to put their hands down your sweater and fumble your breasts. After a few months they will; get out of the habit and you can go back to your usual tops.

I think the OP is making a mountain out of a molehill, so to speak. Whether you have had a mastectomy or not it is inappropriate for your DGC to be fumbling your breasts. You should have stopped it before it started. Just stop it now by the means suggested. No explanations are necessary.

If children are shoving their hands down your front it makes no difference that you've had a mastectomy; they need to be told not to do it. I'm surprised they haven't been corrected before. I wouldn't explain about the op you've had because the the behaviour is unacceptable anyway. its bad manners. Imagine if they did it to the playgroup leader or an elderly neighbour for example?

Ana smacked wrist!!

I believe you grin

One of DSIL's friends was born in Italy and I have never heard anyone swear as much (or as foully). However, he has managed to bring up a delightful daughter hmm

I'm half Italian and my middle name is Florence. My mother was from Tuscany....chianti country, so Florence and Siena were her nearest big cities. I'm a Brummie myself. ?

When I posted, yours wasn't there Cari - I didn't deliberately disobey you!

Jalima1108 Fri 14-Apr-17 17:55:11

I tried to post on a thread yesterday and couldn't post so was muttering a few choice words about our internet under my breath.

Then at the top of the thread appeared 'Thread deleted' in red.

It took me ages to type out a very considered post and there it was - gone!

Jalima1108 Fri 14-Apr-17 17:53:05

Are you a football fan fiorentina ? smile

Or a lovely flower from Florence?

fiorentina51 Fri 14-Apr-17 17:43:48

I'm afraid I was raised by a couple of (much loved)foul mouthed italians! ?

Cari, I don't think anyone is troll-hunting, merely speculating on the OP's extraordinary name.

We're not children - no need to sound so prissy!

Ana Fri 14-Apr-17 17:30:08

How strange. If you try searching for this member the only post which comes up is the OP of this thread.

Must have been a lurker - but why choose such a peculiar username in the first place?

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Fri 14-Apr-17 17:28:35

If anyone has concerns about anything on the forums please contact us directly rather than speculating on the thread - remember that troll hunting is against our rules. Thanks

retrolady2 Fri 14-Apr-17 17:24:58

GNHQ said, in response to my reporting it, that the poster had been a member for some time and that they had no reason to doubt him/her. They are going to look at the name though. Meanwhile, where have they gone, hmmm...

M0nica Fri 14-Apr-17 14:35:23

Perhaps the OP could return to the thread and perhaps give us more detail. How did this habit ever start? Why didn't she stop it immediately.

My DGC used to make a grab for my glasses when they were babies and in a family of spec wearers, nobody thought twice about discouraging that habit. How does this habit differ?

If she doesn't respond, we will reach the obvious conclusion about this thread.

Indinana Fri 14-Apr-17 13:26:14

I too googled this early on and was a little surprised grin. Thing is, the post seems genuine enough, not really very school-childish. And if it is 'one of those posts', then what a very odd theme to choose!
Then again, all these responses and the OP hasn't returned to the thread.... hmm

phoenix Fri 14-Apr-17 13:05:48

Hmm, an odd one, methinks!

nanaK54 Fri 14-Apr-17 12:50:12

Have you 'googled' the name Jayanna?

nanaK54 Fri 14-Apr-17 12:49:17

That was new to me too!

What a sheltered life I lead.....

Jayanna9040 Fri 14-Apr-17 12:48:47

I still don't get it?
