The thing I object to is that slowly, but slowly, we are being encouraged to accept that our religion is on its way out. One of our churches in Shrewsbury is now filled with things to sell ie jumpers, crafts, books, nothing at all to do with Christianity. This is something that Jesus reacted to strongly. Then we were told we cannot wear our crosses at work in case we offend other religions, who are allowed to walk about wearing turbans and burkas, so that is hypocritical. Red cross windows must not display the nativity. The German Stollen cake is being sold to replace Christmas cake, maybe we may not be calling it that soon? Perhaps crosses on hot cross buns will also be phased out?
In actual fact I am not sure that this is about religion at all. I think Cadbury have realised that if they chop the Easter word from the name they can sell their eggs all year round and to a wider range of customers. In other words this is about GREED. Or of course it could be that Cadbury chocolates are nothing like the original product and so sales have been going down. If they go down much more because people do not like 'Hershey chocolate' then we might see Cadbury closed down altogether?
