Well, if it is a marketing ploy it is a better one than phoning us every two minutes trying to get us to send them money for fixing a non-existent fault/virus in our computers. It costs us nothing to have a look at the fivers in our purse, and a few people will have one that they can sell for a large amount.

What will all the contacts be sucked into? Looking at their fivers too? Laughing at themselves for hoping they have one of the engraved ones and feeling a bit more cheerful at the thought of the project? You don't have to buy anything to participate, unlike the golden hare book a few years ago, where the book gave cryptic clues to buried treasure somewhere.

Any fivers you get in change now will have already been scrutinised so I don't know where you'd find one now...

its been advertised that 'James Bond' is on some notes as well, mmmmm wonder which James Bond! There are so many £5 for sale on ebay, in the Mirror it said one on ebay was up for sale for £80,000 and theres nothing special about it! Bizarre !

There is one for £50,000 on Ebay "printed upside down . . . a top British Bank . . . . said it can be used in the upside down format or simply turned around and used the other way"

And another for £5 million "Rare 5 pound note (not)

Just seen that the ones listed as "James Bond" have 007 somewhere in the serial number. Hmmmm
